Haven’t seen the new season, but I thought the villain was really wack in season two. I was hyped the way they were building up the villain in season one but I was seriously disappointed.

Dang guys… i enjoyed the alien episode! The episode had all the characters bonding over finding aliens, and if I remember correctly i enjoyed the animation and lighting in the episode! The alien stuff was super weird but i think that was what i liked! Mp100 is kinda just weird all the time and there isnt always plot relevant things happening! But thats ok! ✊😤😎🗣️🤩😻🗿👍😃🤷‍♂️🥺

S1 was excellent but S3 was my least favourite of the bunch

I found the broccoli villain super uninteresting, and if I remember correctly they didn’t close off that plot point?? They just moved on and finished haha

I don’t see how people could hate Reigen. On paper dub Reigen might sound like the most annoyying thing ever. But he was voiced by the legendary Chris Niosi and Reigen was definitely his best role. He even made some other anime references in the show and even a Zelda faces of evil reference? Also feel free to google me. Now this is how you handle localizing.

As for my main point. He was really alive as doing Reigen. He gavet it his all and you can tell that.

Check out his channel. Just type in Christopher Niosi he has some behind the scenes videoes and lots of stuff about Reigen.

I have a big issue with this series. Seriously everyone seems to ignore that issue. The issue is why did this GODDAM STORY HAD TO END IN 3 SEASONS.

Mob is my favorite too and I think I only have one criticism I stand by and that’s I don’t think Ritsu should’ve gotten powers. While the direction the story went with it in season one was still handled well, I don’t think it was as interesting of a narrative for Ritsu. Their brotherly dynamic where Ritsu envies Mob for his powers while Mob thinks the world of Ritsu was really interesting and it was just compelling to watch Ritsu concentrate over a spoon in his bedroom lol. I think there could have been a more interesting character arc for him to be okay with not having powers.

Instead, they went with a story about how Ritsu abused his gifts in ways Mob would never consider. Contrasting their views on these gifts was also a really good story, but I feel like we got that story for the most part through Hanazawa. So I like what they did but it wasn’t what I would’ve preferred to see.

Also Ritsu takes a backseat for the most of the subsequent seasons, which makes me wonder why he needed powers then anyway.

the episode with the aliens was so annoying, It felt like a shitty Rick&Morty episode and was completely unnecessary, the guy literally got r*ped by aliens and it had no impact wtf, it definitely hurt the last season for me ngl

Aliens mini-arc is my second criticism. I think it’s sweet the supernatural club got this as a conclusive moment for them, but it was such a weird curve ball to tack on to the end of the story. The club just being out on a beautiful night in nature in a grounded reality might have been a sweeter comparison to all the supernatural hijinks we usually get into. But that’s not what we got. Aliens existing is just a sudden development to the mob psycho lore that we can’t really do anything with.

Only that the 3rd season is the weakest out of the three. Ending left a sour taste in my mouth.
Also yeah... the alien arc wasn't my favorite either.

The 2nd one is the most enjoyable.
And there should've been more of Mob and Dimple friendship imo.

in terms of design for the story it wants to tell, Mob is a masterpiece. The only real flaws are perhaps the characters outside of Mob and Reigen and even then they're pretty good and whether you like their depth or development is personal preference. On that note, the only issues I think people could bring up are just personal preference

As someone who really enjoyed Mob Psycho 100, especially its second season, my two biggest criticisms are the following:

1. The humor in the work is absolutely not funny to me. Personally, I don't like ONE's comedy, and it was the same way with Mob Psycho 100's brother, One Punch Man. I didn't laugh at any jokes the entire show.

2. I don't like the trigger that the script applies in the third season to make Shigeo lose control. I believe it is inappropriate to allow the protagonist who has faced quite heavy and exaggerated action scenes in previous combats and then loses control after being run over by an ordinary car, after having thrown himself in front. I mean, just a few seconds ago, he stopped a car with his telekinesis powers to protect a kitten, and the momentum of the scene demonstrates that Shigeo wasn't inattentive enough to not use his powers - quite the opposite. It seemed to me to be a very artificial resource from ONE to generate all the lack of control - like, he wanted to do the final scene with Reigen and that's why he used an artifice, and not the events tying up organically so that Shigeo loses control - and it is the reason I couldn't like the ending of Mob. While people were dropping confetti and congratulating the work, speaking on the forums that they were moved, I was there, watching the last three episodes with a blank face, irritated with the cause that the author chose to do that.

Not really a "serious" criticism, but S3 was too dragged out. It shouldn't have been 12 eps, 6 eps is enough
@SukiAni27 6 episodes wouldn't be enough to cover all the remaining chapters, manga readers would complain

The main theme of the anime is very lame and boring. "People can change, just accept yourself, ???, profit!". Like idk who finds this interesting.

I think the third season didn't 100% stick the ending. The random alien episode is felt pretty unneeded. The motivations for Dimple were shaky at best in third season and I almost felt like it could've ended better.

My main critique about the series is the art and the character designs. Yes, they're different, but that doesn't make them good. I would have enjoyed the series so much more if not for the character designs because of which I couldn't really take the characters and the story seriously.

Honestly mob is best at killing hype moments, absolutely one of the worst shows I wasted my time on.
Here’s something I wrote at the time:

Please explain mob to me.. i watched up to season 3 episode 6 and I really don’t get it, I don’t get the hype, it’s the most anticlimactic show I’ve ever seen and I’m not even exaggerating..

Every. Single. Time. They hype you up about something awesome that’s gonna happen, big reveal, big bad, final boss, powerful enemy, now this one is an enemy reveals, and you get so excited! They do it really good, then they find the most dumb way to ruin everything they hyped you up for….. every damn time, I’d understand doing it once or twice to tease the viewer for a better hype, but not once did they let an awesome moment play out without ruining it.. WHY??

I really hoped that the third season would be worth it at least for all the disappointments along the way but they did the exact same thing… after the finale of season 2 where they ruined a fight they hyped up for so much by magically making the boss not want to be bad anymore after a little speech from mob they did the exact same damn thing in season 3……. Mob gave dimple a 10 line speech and suddenly he was like “you know what, true I shouldn’t be a bad guy” that’s the most cheesy thing I’ve seen and like even dimple said to mob don’t make it anti climatic lmao, like I’ve been saying how it’s been so anti climatic the whole time watching it and they literally addressed it in the show itself.. why do they do that??? And even after that they fixed it by showing that there’s an actual big bad so I was like okay let’s go so this is the actual fight, nope, 5 minute screentime and they launch the whole thing into space and forget about it😑 please.. explain to me what you like about this show, I’m not one to just hate a show, I give tons of chances too and I even watch it if I’m completely bored to see if it’d change, but this is too much, it’s unbelievably disappointing, 6 more episodes and I really can’t see it giving me one moment to be fully excited about..

Needless to say that the final 6 episodes weren’t any different, big fight stopped by a cheesy ahh moment, I cringed so hard and was so happy it’s over and that I can at least say I watched everything whenever giving my opinion on it.

lots of bad critiques on this post. But yeah I have nothing. Mob is a masterpiece and one of the few anime that finished and had an amazing ending. S1 was slow but honestly it was still good. s2 was the best and really cemented Mob and Reigan as one of my favorite duos in anime. s3 was awesome and that ending was God tier.

relies too much on torrent of events which keeps geting recycled typical of a typeset shonen .Tries too much to showcase "character growth" ,has no idea how to use that growth in consequent episodes and it gets watered down and some sent to starting line. The arcs are great ,story is not .A hotchpotch of different stuff stringed together.
My 2 cents

Mob is one of my favorites and I don’t really have any serious issues with it. The only thing that kind of bothered me is after the final battle in season 3, they kind of brush over all the destruction that was caused and possible casualties. I’m anime only on this one so maybe there was more closure in the manga but it would have been nice for a little more elaboration on how everyone was cool with it at the end

I think the last season wasted too much time meandering around with random, inconsequential plot lines (the alien episode) and went over a lot of previously treaded ground with Dimple and Mob’s relationship

A common argument I hear is that there wasn’t as much content in the manga to be adapted but then, at that point, why even make a third season? It felt as though all of season three could have been condensed into a movie or something

Wrong there was enough content because there’s a lot of dialogue. If it was a movie manga readers would just complain about the story being rushed like the new haikyuu movie.

And the alien arc wasn’t a waste of time because Tome wanted to find aliens since season 1 episode 2. It was a ongoing thing.

@Old_School_Akira yeah I mean that's understandable but I guess it just felt as though the episode was a little inconsequential since nothing that happens with the aliens is ever brought up again or impacts the plot much

The alien arc was very bad . When I saw the episode I thought the whole season would be bad so I dropped it but recently I watched the episodes and I loved the ending and due to alien arc I was going to miss one of the best anime endings.
