I definitely agree with you, I also thought about the same thing, glad I wasn't the only one. It really shouldn't had been changed cause now they've basically spoiled it.

not watching sakura card before. and no plan to watch them in the future. 70 episodes. I'm no longer a hardcore or anime grinder like I used to be back in high school when I have nothing to do. unlike now I have full time job. watching more than 70 eps + 22 eps of the same anime is boring fast. it's not like watching jujutsu kaisen.

Normally I'd make fun of someone like you for having a low attention span or not taking your meds that help you focus or whatever but I'm no longer an edgy teenager trolling online. I'm also 33 years old, have two kids, I work fulltime etc., and I don't usually watch long non-retro series anymore. I might watch two or three series per year now.

But Card Captor Sakura is totally worth it, I really recommend you give it a shot from the start of the original series. Just do a few episodes per week in between your other obligations. It's really a unique experience, although not for everyone.

I'm also 33 years old, have two kids, I work fulltime etc., and I don't usually watch long non-retro series anymore. I might watch two or three series per year now.

@KinjiKido I agree that 70+ episodes can get boring, especially when there's no nostalgia associated with the media and it's a slice of life shojo anime. I find myself dropping anime now and then, and although battle Shonen anime make less sense as I grow older, I do realize that shows that grab your attention and do all the work to keep you hooked unsurprisingly work. But I do realize one more think, the more easy to consume stuff you watch, the more it takes your ability to do hardwork and research, and pay attention when something's not demanding it from you. So just for a change, or to benchmark yourself, watching a long slice of anime is not bad at all. But to appreciate it, you have to pay more attention, because only then you'll be moved by it.

Also I don't think I can rewatch Cardcaptor Sakura with the same enthusiasm as before, although it's nostalgic and my favorite series of all time. But Cardcaptor Sakura is a classic, an anime that was way ahead of its time. If you watch it with that mindset, hopefully it won't be disappointing and boring.

I understand even though I don't feel the same way about this one. There are also very few series I can feel the same way about every time. Card Captor Sakura is one of them though, and I find myself feeling the same way every time I watch it. It's a magical, heartwarming experience and I really feel emotionally moved by it every time, and that pretty much never happens anymore after 33 (almost 34) years of being ground down by reality. I'm doing well in real life these days but sometimes a magical fictional world with great characters like this just makes you feel good in a way that nudges the rough pieces back into place.
