Mahou shoujo? Nah, the biggest twist was Hoshizaki being underage. What the hell xD.

The fight was weird. I feel like the animation was there but lacked something, not to mention the sound. What are those sound effects?

Sasaki entering business mode (with that face lol) with the girl in the kimono was hilarious.

We have an OP! I'm not the biggest fan of MADKID tbh but the parallel between the yandere neighbor (with a crown on the side) and the blonde loli from another world is interesting.

Lmao she cakes on make-up to not look 16.

She fooled me. Until now I wouldn't have believed she wasn't a young woman. Instead of a legitimate sophomore in highschool.

Good thing they brought riot shields, otherwise... oh wait, they got beaten by bowling pins.

Dude makes mountains of gold, can barely afford to buy a box of batteries.

Get praised for fighting skill... just hid behind a barrier.

I'd point out how absurd it is to put an underage girl, who isn't allowed to drink yet, into combat, but this is Japan and it's typical.

i have read till volume 2 of the novel but, the world building is dissappointing. there is no character development, especially the mc. the author really wasted the novel potential.

Second episode in and I'm already questioning if I should just drop it. Hear me out a bit:

1. I knew it was an isekai, but I wanted to give it a try to see if subverted my expectations. But neither the world(s) or characters are compelling to me.
2. The isekai, for now, is just for Sasaki to sell his merchandize, nothing more. In the meanwhile, all the heavy plot implications happen in the real world but...
3. What's the plot? Sasaki doesn't even questions Pii-chan's origin. Nothing happens. He was just dragged to a supernatural agency. Is there any end goal? no mystery, no rival, no bad guy, no nothing.
4. It's giving me weird vibes that all the loli characters are gonna be interested in Sasaki one way or another and... why the F is Hoshisaki 16??? uuuhh????

Maybe I forgot something else but that's what I have on the tip of my fingers as of now.

Edit:

5. The whole action/fight scenes felt super off. Could barely hear a fait sound of music in the background. Sound effects were so predominant they felt repetitive and the animation of the characters felt disconnected from the things they were dodging. Ex: When the yellow eyed girl dodged the ice arrows from Hoshisaki, it seemed like they animated the girl dodgin air and then drew the ice proyectiles on top. I don't know, it all fell weird.

the author of the novel planned it to be modern fantasy slow life type of book, of course he failed to make the fight bearable.

Aside from the elephant in the room being Hoshizaki's age, the episode didn't sit right with me, especially during the fight scene.

Thankfully someone else pointed out the sound during the fight scene too, I thought it was just me.

I really enjoy this anime its can even be my favorite this season. Love the characters and the story ,main character who is not pushover but still respectful and actually can communicate with people. My only problem is not even a problem but I hope there is not gonna be romance between Sasaki and any of girls they all teenagers when he is middle age man.For now I dont feel anything like this from Sasaki I dont have a problem girls having crush on him its pretty normal but I just hope Sasaki stays like a normal adult.(For people who gonna say Its anime its not working like that blah blah blah if you okay with this It's not my problem do whatever you want but I have my own morals 16 years old with 40 is not for me )

@HajimeNozomiUwU Anime has desensitized you way too much if you don't think that teens hanging out with a 40+ salary man that has probably never had a wife nor a girlfriend isn't serious. We all know these kind of wink wink nudge nudge innocent kinds of show love to act coy and make claims that their relationships aren't serious, but they serve like just another male fantasy.
@Kimurah Anime has not "desensitized" me; you are viewing anime through your cultural moral compass and not that of Japanese media. A person in a good headspace can understand the difference between fiction and reality.

What's wrong with an author writing male/female fantasy? The appeal to fiction allows for things not present in the real world. People watch/enact gruesome violence and other "taboo" topics in shows and video games, but you draw the line at something that makes you personally uncomfortable.

It's understandable to find these tropes "weird" and to be turned off by them, but parading a high horse of morals or even using the appeal to a gendered fantasy as an insult is just idiotic. There are infinite shows for every demographic; watch what you like and others will do the same.

Well, MahoAko's adaptation exceeded expectations, while this one turned out to be totally family friendly… Feels weird. The bloody scene where the lightening Sasaki released hit the kimono loli and obliterated a large part of her thigh is completely gone. The magical girl is supposed to have her clothes in tatters and stink just like any hobo, but here that is completely gone, and instead her cuteness was emphasized. I guess indeed Friday 9 p.m. is a completely different slot than true late night anime then. At least they could have shown the fact that more than half of the agents died during the battle, as well as how the lightening removed both legs of the man who launched psychokinetic attacks? The relevant background before and after the battle as well as Sasaki's long conversation with his boss was also gone. It's true that novels are quite harder to adapt than manga, though this felt underwhelming from Silver Link with such an all-star VA cast. Guess they fully embraced the relaxing aspects of this novel and decided to position it as such then.

You're not wrong, but also not completely right regarding this particular novel I'd say. Actually if you read the novel you'll see that the author even depicted part of the seemingly "yandere" neighbor's inner thoughts, which might not be 100% realistic but is quite interesting to see, as well as Sasaki's honest thoughts on her situation with her troubled family and upbringing. The author doesn't try to beat the bush around this topic at all. I think in general you can perceive the dynamics from Sasaki's perspective as him helping those girls out instead of thinking of them as potential romantic partners, somewhat like a uncle-niece dynamics, which is actually wholesome and has always been an important part of the human society since forever (think of the dynamics between the MCs in The Last of Us for example). (Also you can clearly see how Sasaki just felt a sense of めんどくさい towards Hoshizaki and didn't want to entertain her at all at first.) This is at least quite better than many of the obviously problematic and cheap/soulless stories that you're probably thinking of.

Didn't feel as good as the first episode for first part of the ep but still enjoyable, better near end.

I would have never guessed Hoshizaki-san was 16. I thought she was like at least 26 at lowest lol

Not sure if that girl digging in the trash is one of the psychics or if she came from another world.

It’s a little weird because this ain’t lacking in animation like, at all, but the sound direction seems a bit weird? Like the things don’t SOUND as impactful as they seem.

Some people have a problem with her being underage but I’m just going to ignore it unless it gets weird, which it isn’t really yet. Otherwise solid episode. Animation got a chance to shine in the action sequence and there’s more intrigue going on with the new characters. Looking forward to how it progresses.

Ok the production values of the action scenes were something else. Usually I don't care about animation and sound effects but this was actually bad enough to distract me from what was going on.

Besides that, it wasn't on the same level as the premiere. I feel like aside from the introduction of two new characters (one being just a teaser at the end), the story gained nothing here. Isn't Sasaki trying to get out of the psychic buisness?

Regarding the female age issues, I don't mind it as long as it's just weird fanservice and they aren't actually set up as a love interest or something. In Hoshizaki's case, it might actually be beneficial for her character development.

first mission vs gang rather dangerous.
stylized dynamic fights, but hard to read. all 3 quite strong but Kimono seems to have multiple skills instead of an esper.

Def some cracks starting to show here. Action animation and direction are comically bad.

It was pretty fun seeing Sasaki turn a fight into a cordial conversation. Confused as to exactly what the villains’ motives were, they just kinda gave up on all their objectives I guess.

And that girl introduced at the end, do we really need more stuff going on? We’ve already got three entirely separate plot lines running concurrently, would be insane to get a fourth.

Interested to see where this goes, hopefully it’s not action-dependent.

1. Animation, especially the fight scene, is definitely subpar.
2. Yes. Lines up in the novel.
3. At least one of them will be an adult
4. Mahou shoujo, isekai, reverse isekai, power fantasy... and counting. Depends on the author tho

Sasaki handling his otherworldly powers in a short amount of time is impressive even on Peeps.

Sasaki supplying walkie-talkies and batteries in the fantasy world, which to them will prove a great deal because of Viscount Muller's recommendation, and also in preparation of an incoming war. It's good that French's restaurant business is booming, but he almost forgot about his real work being a psychic investigator with Hoshizaki, on the same group of psychic users, whom which one of them has been subdued before.

But their mission to find the group's hideout, it sppears to have been a trap that has the entire raiding team surrounded. Despite that, Sasaki would never leave Hoshizaki, especially in a battle against a rather high-level psychic girl in a kimono. Knowing this, Sasaki takes the safe route being an unknown face to the girl and dons his business facade while trying to find that advantage over her with his psychic powers...that are still in a level of uncertain controllability. Even on his first job, Sasaki managed to call off the conflict, which is a feat, and Hoshizaki feels grateful enough to invite him for dinner.

The biggest twist is Hoshizaki being 16 despite looking like a young woman, all she wants is a well-paying job, that's all. But yet another magical girl showing up who comes from another universe, Sasaki's only going to get into deeper shit ever.

This episode really flew by. Bold of Sasaki to pay French outside in front of a lot of people. Also how are people not suspicious of him since he's wearing a suit? Saski said that Hoshizaki wore a lot of makeup so that might explain why everyone thought she was older bc same. He seems to really attract the younger crowd lol Sasaki's faces are perfect! I love his expressions, they remind me a lot of Bocchi. The fight scene was a little weird though, everyone just fell like flies and no one stood their ground lol

I couldn't care less about the whole age thing, I'm just more on the point of just dropping this whole show now, the premise is just really meh and even tho Tomokazu Sugita is the MC in this and Yuki Aoi plays as a cute looking birb as well as a good amount of VAs I like in this show, it still doesn't save the whole thing for me
I don't like Hoshizaki's character at all and everything is just not really sticking to me at all, there's a lot of other anime I'm watching this season so I am okay with one less show that is just not appealing to me at all

Even like skimming past next episode too, nothing is intriguing me at all
