This isn't your usual Isekai MC collecting waifus with different breast sizes. But the world this is set in is the inner palace of the ancient Chinese emperor, a real historical harem. Beside the emperor, almost all roles are consorts, enunuchs and their servants. We meet multiple imperial consorts, which form the Emperors harem. The Raven Consort is the heroine, and she over the show builds a group of bishi males around her which coud just as well pass as reverse harem in the "Yona of the Dawn" sense. I'll leave it to the discretion of the taggers to use the harem tag for the well known shounen fantasy trope. Here it would descrie an actual real world harem from history. |

There is not an extreme amount of psychological warfare going on between the characters as other anime in the psychological genre, nor is the main thematic of the anime necessarily focused on the character's mind games, but the romantic implication surrounding their activities and daily lives. In later seasons especially of Kaguya-sama, the mental games the characters play on one another becomes less and less prominent, focusing almost solely on the romantic side of their trifles by the end. There is very little screen time detailing the psychological aspects of their romances as well, not exactly accumulating to much. Other series like Takagi-san that have more screen time dedicated to showing psychological mind games are not classified as psychological, so this show surely should not be classified as the same. Furthermore, the movie that proceeds the third season of the series is not considered psychological, so I think that further proves the point that the series is not psychological- Or, in the very least, not psychological past the first season. By this I think Clannad should have both genres since most of the arcs are made this way, maybe the Kotomi arc is a bit less lighthearted but the other arcs are all lighthearted so just please add comedy |
