| I expected the school festival arc to banger, but this. This goes beyond that understanding. It was absolutely perfect, each plot twist, each conversation line, everything really. I absolutely loved it. It's also very good that Yamada ended up answering her question. I just can't stop binging. On a side note, the pageant troll thing was insanely good, top stuff. Also, I can't believe it myself, but the brother-sister dynamic between Runa and her brother is kind of cute, not going to lie. |

| I get the impression this may very well be the episode of the season. Anime so far makes it look like the relationship is going to be drawn out so I don't know if even the S1 conclusion will have a chance to beat that "what if" confession on the stairs. |

| Okay this episode took the show from high mid to top tier for me. I realize it was already there for a lot of people, but it finally clicked for me. The direction of this show is just so far above and beyond, so many great stylistic flourishes and such good comic timing, but also really good at those doki doki moments. damn, when Yamada smiled. And said he thinks she’s out of his league. I mean. Yeah I can see why, from his socially awkward, limited perspective. in his mind, she’s a normie, a sophisticated adult, a really nice and socially competent person, I think we’re still missing a few pieces of his psychology to really put this in context, though. I’m sure we’re due for more of a flashback on his middle school/ first couple of years of high school that’ll provide that context. I like how the show slow burned this until both of them sort of caught feelings organically after spending time together. It’s refreshingly realistic, none of this love at first sight stuff, More that they did nice things for each other, got to know each other a bit better, and started to catch feelings. That kind of romance writing is more realistic, but tricky because it can’t rely as much on easy tropes. And yet it’s pulled off so well here. |

| yamada was so unintentionally smooth here. i find it refreshing when characters speak their feelings so earnestly. i like yamada. he's simple and uncomplicated despite everything. and i love how they seem to have genuine admiration for each other. |

| For me this is the peak episode of the series, the school festival scene is so perfect. i love how all the girls got jealous of akane and also the last scene, the Seido Baseball Uniform reference from Diamond no Ace comes out of nowhere LOL |
