So far, it seems the show focused some parts on their relationship but I'm sure it will expand on them more. Action was decent too but I feel like it's the characters that catches my interest more. Not sure how I feel about Suletta yet but she seems a bit vulnerable and timid for a character. Hopefully, she can grow to be more confident. Just pop up at the end of an arguments and say "ahaha, you're salty)) 00" the level of 13 year old internet warriors. Although, if you think about it, your dialogue with a person who just yesterday with tears begged to consider the ship as a canon only because in his head they were already married and he "thought out" how to justify it, lowers the level even to 10 years. |

Things I don't mind at all: this. I kinda like yet am somehow annoyed by Suletta, but at the same time it's understandable. I'm kinda happy she's not some genki girl or something. It's kinda refreshing to have a main female character who isn't like that or just the bug cool girl in an anime like this. |

No my boy, you are the one here who's annoying. You don't have to pick up petty fights with everyone, who is happy about a lesbian seemingly-canon ship and heavy Utena references. Anyway, Eri is quite naive and shy and all, I hope she grows during the show. I also hope there will be some / more good male main character / important side character. I don't like it, also especially in a show with a lesbian couple, when male characters are only shown with lot of toxic masculinity. The episode was pretty good tho and I liked the action scene and mecha design. |

Shame on me! If a show is using a accidental gay as a cliffhanger twist in the first episode, then everyone should immediately accept the characters as a full-fledged lesbian couple without any hesitation. Interesting first episode! Although it was clear from previous announcements and the characters that it would be mostly a school setting (for now?), I was still a bit surprised. Mostly because the few other Gundam series I've watched all made it clear from episode one that there is a war, yet in this episode, it's just kids dueling each other. The fight was great, not complaining, but the reason for the fight was not so interesting. I'm sure the war aspect will come later, of course, given the politics in the prologue episode. As for the characters so far, I can relate a bit to Suletta's timidness. I find her really cute, and despite being timid, she's still willing to stand up to others and clearly has things she hold to be important. Really interesting line about how she said she and Aerial were raised together, and that Aerial is her family. Now regarding the big topic that everyone is mentioning...I've never been a fan of yuri, just like how there are people who scream about bl and/or bl-bait. I just don't care for it, so despite thinking that it won't go anywhere, I still didn't like it ^^; Just personal preference. Lastly, the quality is amazing, my eyes have been blessed~ Actually, also wanted to mention how disappointed I am with the OP song choice. I heard it in the PV when it was released, but I still think it doesn't fit my view of Gundam, where a good amount of OP songs are rock-based or have heavier beats (yes there heavy beats in the non-singing parts of Shukufuku). I like YOASOBI, but ikura's voice is too thin for heavier songs in my opinion. Interested in what the ED song will be like, though! |

This is my first Gundam show and it did not disappoint so far. Man, I still need to find the time to watch Iron Blooded Orphans though at some point. Anyway, this is probably gonna make me buy my first Gundam as well lmao, Aerial looks sick. I haven't watched any Gundam before, but of course, everyone probably knows about the RX-78 and Aerial's design reminds me of it, like a modern version. I think this is definitely a good first Gundam to get into. Really like Suletta and Miorine a lot already . Ah yes, can't have mecha without some politicking. Already expected Guel to lose, but bro, he got bodied effortlessly lmao. The show really looks beautiful, I hope it stays consistent. Not to mention as well, the soundtrack slaps, especially at the scene before the episode ended. Heard as well that there was a prologue and it's really important, better get to watching that. Aside from that, can't wait for the next episode. |

I dunno, I liked the prologue more than this. Can't say I'm a fan of the school setting that appears to be a big part of the story, nor do I think the whole yuri thing is doing the show any favours. I hope they change the story's direction and make it more like what the prologue set up. |

This show was never poromoted as a romance to complain about going too fast, and the fact that it was done by a cliffhanger clearly shows that whether or not they get into a relationship, this topic won't be closed on that. So why complain? Besides, not all romance has to be about finding reciprocity, Tonikaku is just fluff about a happy couple life. Man you're so conservative. I ain't complanin. I love any Gundam show. The instant I saw Miorine transform Suletta's uniform I thought, "Utena". As long as we don't have Suletta walking up a spiral staircase with the apocalypse music playing I'll be fine. Love the series so far. Great animation, good mecha fights. Our country bumpkin not ready for social gathering girl persona is very well done. I like how she is completely different when she is in her Gundam. One big difference from Utena is that Miorine is trying to get out of the stupid engagement crap. Unlike Anthy. Wonder when we'll see the Revolution AMV put to this Gundam series. |

While you can read her greeting MC as sarcastic and the topic ended with a cliffhanger for now, it looks like she instantly forgot about all the struggles with the engagement and her father forcing it on her after the writer needed to pair her with the Suletta. I hope this doesn't end with the Protagonist-centered morality like in Mahouka (probably the main "violator" in this regard), when previously bad things suddenly start to be considered morally good if the MC does it. Though maybe Miorine will just try to use her as a weapon of "revolution" (yes, I made that shitty pun) against her father. |

I'm seeing a lot of references by the setting and psychological aspect, pretty much a extreme blatantness from Revolutionary Utena which is a personal favorite of mine, but for a new Gundam, I'm heavily mixed on the academy trope because that's a very unexpected interpretation for this type of genre and themes and the character writing and development is left to be desired as my first impression to these characters... they're not the archatypes that I'm fond entirely comparative to Utena and Antheny, they're much more exquisite in the very first episode and it's presentation is a lot more symbolic which I do hope this new Gundam can represent too since it's lack of narratives and twist to create a unique duel while also exploring emotions too. |

That the writer of the series want a lesbian couple is obvious, if you look at all the heavy Utena-references. Also you have written something like "you can't have female / queer / black characters without making it their selling point" and called it the Korra-effect. Sry you either don't remember the Korra-series right or you want it to see like that. Avatar always has been a very political and also spiritual series, they never reduced Korra or Asami as characters to their sexual orientation or gender. Every Korra-season also talked about a certain philosophy and political orientation. Not in a perfect way, but they still did and they did quite well. Also this is a GUNDAM-series. These always have supposed to be heavily political and also tackle social / socio-political topics. Mecha series are almost never just about cool robots and fights. So far I'm only bothered that the male characters are almost all pigs. You can write about systematic sexism without making every guy an asshole. I don't think that passionately trying to convince me of your point of view, to the point of trying to appeal to morality, twisting my words to make me sound worse and trying to shame me for a different view (not to mention the obvious abuse of Gish's Gallop, but these are small things), will somehow refute my words above. Even vice versa. So, if you really want to stop arguing and fighting around this, I suggest you stop right now. Because now you are literally the one who is trying to impose your perspective, sorry. P.S. I swear, if every time I got a dollar when people used a mentoring tone and made assumptions as facts instead of arguments, then I would already be a millionaire. Well okay, but maybe just stop when people say "I really like they have a canon lesbian ship" to "correct" them, just because it's not tagged as yuri or anything along these lines. People don't need tags to understand on their own what's going on screen... or well, some guy's approval. I knew it will play out like that. One writes a comment here about the yuri and other stuff and you jump on almost everyone of them asap. It's just annoying to comment in such a topic then. |

I wanted to comment on that episode, but than I look into the discussion and I think I'll watch for myself and get outta here. Now imagine what will happen in the discussion of the second or third episode, when people can finally form a meaningful opinion about what the show will be. How could I question people who either instantly fetishized female character relationships without even waiting for the next episodes to reveal the cliffhanger or even came to watch this show just for potential yuri as a horny fanservice without even hiding it. Shame on me! If a show is using a accidental gay as a cliffhanger twist in the first episode, then everyone should immediately accept the characters as a full-fledged lesbian couple without any hesitation. Other opinions are annoying. The show has at least 3 male characters in the main cast, so they will definitely get some development. But what, a debatable question, since at the moment the merch gives them several times more attention than the anime. You again continue to impose your opinion on me and throw a scarecrows, generalizing and distorting the things that I expressed in this thread. I ask you again, please stop. This is bordering on gaslighting. |

A breath of fresh air for a new Gundam series. Its story has potential. The art looks great. Animation feels good, as well. |

Great start, I'm new to the Gundam franchise so that was a nice introduction and the new characters are definitely interesting so far, the Mecha fight was great and Miorine's fiancé issue is already fixed so no need to worry about it (and looks like his role was switching to the MC xD) We'll see how it goes but so far that's promising |
