the whole phone call with parents situation has been sus all along. there also has been little hints here and there (like ppl ignoring her, bumping into her without apologising) and they got more noticeable later on (like teacher cdn't find her form). then finally at the end of the previous episode Yuzuki enters into her apartment building, now dilapidated, then leans behind the closed door in her now abandoned apartment

the first hint (obviously only noticeable on a rewatch) was when Ai hugged her during the possession in ep 1, she went "so cold!"

the lead up to the twist and the twist itself aside... I just realised another very obvious thing, which is a living human cannot be Jigoku Shoujo so when Ai broke the news to her abt the succession, it was either Yuzuki was already dead or that Ai had her death planned (not likely)
