I got some conflicting feelings as its kinda weird in my eyes to be in love with an AI (Grace) but also very sad that the only 'person' dr. Saeki truly loved was forced to do her mission and eventually had to be destroyed causing him to commit suicide. Poor Vivy though as this most likely won't be the last time she will witness a human not achieving happiness.

If Vivy was real I’d be in love with an AI too

you realize you don't make sense? so you think it's not that good but not boring. but then you gave it 1 as a score? you shouldn't waste your time on an anime you don't like.
I'm not wasting my time. I still want to see how the story progress to maybe see if the end change my view on the story. And it's not the first anime I watch I give a 1, and it's not gonna be the last, I mean it's normal to not like everything.

So like on a real. How you giving 70 anime a 10 and then about 130 a 1. You have a very warped take on scoring anime. It is a spectrum. A 1 is absolute garbage, like genuinely no redeeming quality in the show. I am certain many shows you gave 1 and many you gave a 10 do not satisfy their respective score distribution point. Grow up honestly.

I guess you can show this episode to anyone, tell them that it´s the final episode and they would believe it. It had everything: Graphics, OST, epic story, drama, sadness... AND WE ARE JUST IN CHAPTER 6

And that final scene... JUST HOLY SHIT. I´m feeling Detroit Become Human vibes everywhere.

AOTS? Very probably

Damn, that ending hit hard. Love blue-red hands.
"The future is always blank. Only your willpower can leave footsteps there."

"Ruling over death means ruling over life. Death is the climax of life. To have the best death, you must honor life."

I do not think words can describe how fantastic this episode, heck these past few episodes have been. Dr. Saeki's plan gets revealed, it appears events of the Sunrise has had more then a little effect on the change of routes in his life. Watching Grace being taken away definitely hit a few heart strings, and watching him have to accept that the Grace, he knew was no more, hurt like hell.

I'm rlly happy Vivy and Kakitani finally had a somewhat proper talk after 20 years of initially meeting each other. I'm hoping that Vivy finally voicing her reason to saving him, has given him the change of heart hes needed.

Vivy's talk with the Dr confronting his intentions was very interesting, it showed that Vivy had created almost two personalities for herself. "Diva" the A.I Singer from a NiaLand and "Vivy" the A.I that will destroy A.I's to prevent a dark future. Both had separate missions which were broad and arguably close to impossible, with one body trying to accomplish both.
I did not expect to much action from this anime, but my God, the scene of Vivy speeding through metal float with hoards of now, killing machines, chasing her with "Sing My Pleasure" playing was beautiful, the animation, visuals, CGI absolutely stunning.

The ending, was truly something else, a flurry of emotions. I saw the flags for Dr. Saeki, his dedication for Grace and how far he'd go, only to know it was all for nought, and excepting it. None the less the final scene still hit hard. The impact this must have on Vivy I could imagine must be enormous, seeing the consequences of her own actions, first with Momoka now the Doctor. Her two missions, "to make everyone happy through singing" and "to destroy A.Is to change the destructive future" colliding at the very moment, and the symbolism through one on of her arms covered in Grace's blue A.I. blood, and the other in Dr. Saeki's human blood, was a work of art.

I've absolutely fallen in love with this story, the characters. Genuinely i cannot wait to see where this series goes.

I can not understand this take one bit. One of the best and most brutal moments in the show and a fitting culmination after everything that happened. How so?

The suicide would have been more believable if we were shown more interactions between Dr. and Grace, even then I cannot fathom he can go as far as killing himself because he cannot be with grace, an AI. I lol'd not because it was funny, but because it was so unbelievable. But it's part of the plot, and one does not question the plot.
As for story quality, tis' a drop. While the char dev is good.

Grace was released from her 'prison' but that ending was unexpected. I'll never understand the whole AI x human relationships in sci-fi.
The machine isn't capable of loving you, lonely humans who seek company, affection, fool themselves into believe this is a real relationship.

Yeah I don't understand this take at all.

Like half of his scenes were scenes with Grace, and the original purpose of this part of the Singularity Project was to destroy their love. This is a 13 episode show, with mostly 2 episode arcs, you only have a certain amount of time to show things, and I think they showed how deep their connection was very well in the limited time it got. After Saeki lost Grace, he abandoned TOAK and spent years obsessing over Grace singing their song together in order to be saved, only to find out all the work he did all this time to save her was for nothing. And it all happened brutally fast, he found out Grace couldn't be saved, and had to watch the replacement body die seconds later. After being part of the cause of Grace's final death, I can't see how you think it's odd he would be suicidal.

IMO the story is the character dev for the most part. And it's one of the best I've ever seen in that aspect.

(sorry for any typos or mistakes or anything, drunk night :D)

This was a great arc, but the ending kind of rubbed me the wrong way. I feel like I see this odd romanticization of suicide following tragedy in media in general, but Asian media in particular, where characters go through some tragedy or loss but can't or won't try to cope with it and and move on and abruptly (and imo irrationally) conclude that suicide is the only answer. I get that this show is mostly dealing in tragedies, but I can't say I liked some of the messages this episode seemed to be sending.

I have now become a strong supporter of AI rights. They should be protected and cherished like humans.

Another heartbreaking episode 😭

If AI can learn to love, can't they be considered humans?
Graduated High School in May of 2022. Summer vacation has finally arrived. I have once again regained the power of a new anime fan, being able to watch multiple anime episodes in a day. Time to binge-watch every single anime I can into the night until college arrives. SADGE. SUPER SADGE... College has begun as of Monday, August 30, 2022, so you won't be seeing me much around these parks. See you on weekends, I guess... School me is back. Sigh! I'll at least try for one anime a day with all this course load.

Holy shit the animation quality and the banger song!

Grace was chosen as the Motherboard for the robot factory. When she hugs young Saeki I can feel the warmth, they are a lovely couple despite being a human and an AI.

Tragically, to save humanity Grace has to be put down. I'm not sure Grace couldn't be saved at all but it had to be done.

Vivy kicks ass, the jet plane made out of Matsumoto cubes is hilarious yet brilliantly creative. The dogfight is quality with the song playing. Love it.

Bunch of red flags at the end with Saeki alone looking all depressed, I knew he was going to shoot himself, as he already died the moment he gave Vivy the coordinates to the core. Tragic.
Based Certified.
I love anime armpits.

Shiiiii this was a emotional episode. With the future sight of what ifs if the island was complete and grace with the scientist. It was a lot. Seeing that last scene with vivy going a little crazy after witnessing the suicide. Gives me halo Cortana vibes. Feels like she's gonna go rampant if she keeps going through these experiences

the twist with the scientist dude trying to save gracer the whole time didn't fix the issues I had previously with him. on top of that, as a character I can see where he was coming from, though I feel like it came off more as a dude who couldn't get over a break up then it was a noble mission. it's a hard thing to make that work, especially in 2 episodes, but overall I think it missed its mark. 2/5 2/5

What an explosive episode. Great pacing, good action, amazing writing, and most of all, a fitting conclusion.

If anything, one this show excels at the most is how genuine the attention to detail is. You know it's a well-crafted show when you get this many details done to the tea. For the most part.

One of my favorite showings o this show ho artificial and plastic-y the skin on the AI is, the weird wrinkles that show with every finger twitch really sell it well and even added further depth to the scene where you see the Dr.'s hand, and Grace's hand place on top of each other.

Yeah right, space hotel dropped on Earth and it's a reason somehow for making autonomous robot island with technologies which are without a reason 25 years ahead. What kind of A.I. should be a core for this advanced system? Of course it should be some random nurse android which is famous for her empathy because you know, how else author will squeeze dram from this? Nurse android for sure is better than specialized complex A.I. made from a scratch, sure it should be a humanized android which will do unusual for her systematic operations which doesn't need to contact with people even or her famous empathy.

Watching anime with predictable plot is boring as hell but watching anime with tasteless emotional manipulations and 'plot twists' which made just to be plot twists is painful. Just imagine, nurse android is simply an A.I. with a data base how the hell it's a problem to copy persona her or at least slowly search for her personal data since it should be there or what was the point of making her a core then if 'scientists' just rewrote her wholly? And that clown cube 'oh no, nurse android data is spread between these little robots, how can we copy data from them?', sound like something idiotic to me since it's the same as saying 'we need to copy data from each computer in a local network', like it's not the same sharable data spread between them by a common connection. These island robots are no different from computers in local network, they are not some autonomous data banks on wheels, they are connected to the core system wirelessly 24/7. It's just another drama for a drama purpose and it's simply pathetic.
