I really want to appreciate this series and love and hype it as much as others seem to do but I just can't right now, episode 3 wasn't getting better than the first 2, I like Vivy but I don't relate to her at all as a character and I don't really feel any empathy towards her, the story also isn't as engaging, I really hope it gets better in the next few episodes

Why do you need to related with an AI ? I don't get it, she is not suffering why you need empathy? she is the one saving people.

I just like relatable characters, that's just my preference no matter if it's an animal or robot, also she's not suffering but struggling a lot with her carrier not going as well as she would want it to and with the
and the general hate toward her as an AI

I can't help wondering if Matsumoto is lying to us. For one thing his personality is the absolute worst, which isn't endearing, and for another he seems oddly fixated on saving/killing specific people even though claiming that his creator had sent him back with instructions to leave it to her.

Most suspicious of all is just an anime trope. There's no way to prove that he is who he says he is, or that his purpose is what he claims, which leaves him the most likely villain of the plot.

I'm totally getting Kyubey vibes from him. Definitely suspicious. Although, on paper, his story checks out. Will have to wait and see.

Damn, Estella's lullaby at the end was just... wow (both the visuals and the music)

Matsumoto is still kinda sus (and annoying lol) Also it gives me some Monokuma's vibes.

Pretty interesting so far. I like where this is going.

Can’t believe I almost missed out on this anime. Those are some high production values. Wit studio is really delivering with this one.

Hope it isn’t as simple as estella is being controlled somehow. Then that would make it so that vivy won’t have any moral dilemma to face. But whatever it is, I hope Estella genuinely has a reason for crashing the station, and ISN’T being manipulated. It would just make things more interesting as they play out

Oh yeah and bear dude is definitely giving me the same vibes from the bear from danganronpa, or even more so kyubey from madoka magica, believing that they are truly in the right. But we already know that that professor sent the program, so it has to be for the best, right? Or maybe it got corrupted when going back in time and perhaps is even the reason for the massacre breaking out. Anyhow, bear is definitely a more interesting character than our main character vivy, who is just kind of the typical overly righteous protagonist who wants to save everybody

Woah, 15 years has passed since the previous episode, it does make sense since it's about 100 years mission. I guess there will be another long time jump.

Vivy squeezing Matsumoto like that was really cute of her XD
And Matsumoto's reaction in everything is quite amusing. Fukuyama Jun's doing a great job voicing it.

At first I thought Estella wasn't an Evil AI and was starting to doubt that it could be that pink haired AI who looks just like Nana from Munou na Nana but that twisted ending surprised me. Estella really just went and ripped off that pinky's head...I wonder what's her motive that she has to crash the whole hotel which will most likely destroy her too.

Now that Vivy got to know that Momoka's younger sister is in the hotel too, she'll definitely save the hotel from crashing no matter what.

That smile, Vivy's adorable. To me she's the most beautiful character of this season.

It's funny how those AIs act more human and complex, despite only be able to do the task they were made for. But it's 15 years since then so I guess they're more advanced in technology now?

So no one checks up on Diva when she's on missions? No gets sus over her period of absence from her singing duties?

Ah, so, its a time skip, then. Thats why its look so off at first from the previous objective. The peaceful time only matters at 15 years tick only. I see Vivy got a nice amount of guest there. Too bad, the singular point already detected with how the previous decision actually not to brings down the future event to not happened even in the slightest chance. Its sounds bad, cause its simply leading to the same route again: Human-Ai war. Understandable.

So, thats why Matsumoto came back from its hibernation to once again, fucked up Vivy poor mind with that Sun-Crash Incident covert mission. Matsumoto plan was simple, destroying the cause and make it over by disposing it asap. No emotion, just clear the mission immediately. But, as expected, Vivy will always be done the mission with a different approaching. Quite emotional with that song, and, the way she also met with the little sister of the little girl. Man, its time to get some action again, Vivy. Cause whatever real shit happened back there, it must be not good, and full of intric. Lets see next!

So my theory while watching the episode is that Estella probably crashed the space station to prevent a much larger disaster. I assumed that there was going to be some sort of malfunction that will cause the space station to crash and Estella redirected it into the ocean to prevent a higher body count. But then that last scene happened and I am questioning that theory. There is a good chance that this is what's probably going to happen but I am not sure anymore.

I take it the time skip is cause they want to show all major events in a 100 years span of time?

Felt kinda weird tho... cause we're literally missing bunch of character progression for DIVA on how she growth through the years.

Also, the bear still sucks...

Not to mention the bear wants to stop AI from developing, yet he keeps on saying not to change future events... yet that's exactly what the bear is doing to change things... And so far AI has kept on developing in mostly the same way... except DIVA instead of just singing on a stage to be happy, she has to suffer all these horrific events... fuck this bear.

Also Also, I have a strange feeling that the Bear is the "future mastermind" that caused the AI war. And Diva wasn't "affected" cause she herself is the "corrupted AI" that controlled all other AI.

___ ___ ___

And god damn it... they just had to kill off the pink twintail hair girl...

On other note, Estella strangely looks like Lusamine from Pokemon... maybe she went psycho cause of some alien parasite too, lol.

So the only one doing time travel is Matsumoto. Vivy and the audience travel forward "normally" with time skips and the Matsumoto AI possesses the bear at various points in history to

Space hotel named Sunrise and history records it as crashing. Seems very familiar.

Perhaps Estella is just so good at hiding the other side of her personality (and maybe it's easier to fool an AI like Vivy). Did the Space Hotel have a black box recording everything? Suppose it is her fault, maybe she didn't mean or it was out of her control and she determined that crashing in it's eventual location would cause less deaths. Without a black box, there's very little that could be revealed about this historically recorded accident.

Skipped to the death of Vivy's friend at the end of the 2nd episode, and now we're skipping ahead again. Yeesh. This show sure loves its time skips. I guess that's it for her friend, then. I still find it abrupt, but if the pattern going ahead will be constant time skips, then it is what it is.

The story in this episode was pretty interesting, so I'm curious to find out what's going on with Estella.

So... Vivy has a younger sister. I don't know why but I found it to be very adorable. 15 years pass and we got to the next "arc". Seems like in the future we will have a lot of such time skips and the final 2 episodes will be about this AI accident(of course if Vivy won't be able to stop it).
5/5 episode for me.

Gravity free room & them eyes really nice.
Bear getting more sus, Pink sus too but gonners already.
Both singularities so far there's strong ambiguity whether the mission helps/worsens the timeline. Politician end up learning from Vivy & lead to AI law.
Sounds more likely this war just get delayed but hard to fully remove.

Anyway the one thing I dont like about this so far is the annoying bear sidekick AI. I know what they were going for with this dynamic but I would have liked a less obnoxious character

I didn't expect a 15 year time skip. Will we finish the entire, "100 year journey," in 13 episodes then? Feels unlikely, but I suppose not impossible.

I appreciate the logical and moral struggles Diva is going through. Adding in the little girl's sister is a bit on the nose, but will still manage to pack a gut punch I'm sure.

So they just completely ignored how the last scene from the previous episode played out ? I mean seriously, how did anyone take that scene seriously when it was just shoved in like an afterthought at the end of Ep 2 ?

And we find Vivy singing songs after the end of 15 years, with the only thing indicating a passage of time is a larger audience. Her personality has changed very little which is kind of a weird choice. I feel like it would've been much more interesting if she actually changed as a person over the course of time.

For a 15 year time-skip, Diva hasn't changed at all (Talking about personality, of course).
I don't understand why the bear is giving her a new mission just 24hs before the crash. If the problem was supposedly Estella, wouldn't it be better to stop her from getting built in the first place? Or maybe saving the previous hotel owner from the accident that killed him?... Although, then again, I don't trust that annoying bear.

I have to say that this anime looks visually really gorgeous.

I didn't expect a timeskip of 15 years after the plane accident. Throughout the episode I actually believed Vivy on Estella maybe not being the culprit but seeing that end I guess Matsumoto is perhaps right, curious to find out whats actually the truth.
On a sidenote I have to say despite his mission, I kinda suspect Matsumoto into becoming a villain later on because of his 'personality'.

What an intense roller coaster of emotions this episode. Tanezaki Atsumi's singing in the intro was beautiful, if it's the opening song then i already love it.

The 15 year time gap was a surprise to me, but make sense considering not everything was gonna take place at once. Androids have definitely evolved since 15 years ago which was really nice to see. Seems Vivy managed to change the course of the Naming Law and potentially hinder the 100 year war to some degree, but consequences of her actions meant possibly something bigger might occur. Also the prevention of the Naming law, like Matsumoto said, wasn't going to completely change the route to the war, "throwing a pebble to change the course of a river." nicely said.

The entire time on the sunrise my heart was racing, 24 hours and counting down before one of the greatest incidents for androids occurred, Vivy racing against the clock to investigate and determine whether Estella's true intentions are to crash the Sunrise having to destroy her on the spot, or a third party intervening. The contrast between watching Estella and Vivy helping the guest's, as well as her friendly presents, makes it even harder stomach that this is the same android that potentially crashes, and kills thousands of innocents.

Ending was by far amazing, Estella's amazing song to calm the guest after the emergency, slowly fading to her brutally killing the other android, was beautiful in its own way.

I'm so exited to see the conclusion of the Sunrise, next episode looks great.

Loved the ED song. I have mixed feeling about whether Estella is being manipulated (as Vivy speculated) or she's genuinely "evil"?

They way AI is still advancing and increasing in numbers, makes me very suspicious of the bear and him wanting to save the future... I suspect he's using Vivy to make sure the war DOES happen lol, or maybe he wants to make sure humanity gets exterminated even faster/efficiently?
