I feel like what Eslam said about the sequel already being in production since October 2020 is true since we got that picture of Colt in anime and it looks identical to a manga panel in 119. (From the CGworld magazine btw, they were talking about the overlays and backgrounds)

Anyone have this colt picture??

Hmmm

I wonder if it’s done because they were actually supposed to end at 119... but then plans changed and they’re ending at 116. Of course that’s only if that rumor was true.

I guess that’s a good sign and almost confirms part 2?

That scene on the rooftop was PERFECT!! They did my girl Pieck justice

Have no idea what they said at the end....any news on part 2 or???

edit: Part 2 is airing in the winter!!

That was an amazing episode. Probably the best ending of one. We also get a January-March 2022 release so that's better than fall of this year at least. Assuming they have been working on Part 2 since last year the schedule should at least be better than Part 1.

The question is, will they animate everything until the end in part 2? If yes production meltdown is unavoidable, especially without freelancers

They have to. They adapted 26 chapters in 16 episodes and there's 23 left. I think we'll get 13 episodes.

Ok so, now all we need to know is the number of eps.

At worst the quality will be the same as this first part, so on that front we are ok.

There are also content in 123-130 which could be easily skipped, like the Conny x Falco arc (in the end, i feel that little arc totally unnecessary), so they can absolutely do it with less than 16 eps.

That's comedic relief. It's there on purpose, I don't want them to remove anything form 123-130. I love those chapters.

it could but it would be a waste to not use the 3D models they have.

if the shifters in part 2 are 2D then you know that scheduling is super fucked up in part 1 lmao. tbh it could happen because cao san (3DCG specialist) stated that he won't be coming back anymore.

it would be impossible for part 2 to have no cgi though but maybe shifters could be. I highly doubt it.

tbh i have no idea what to expect for part 2.

they already work with freelancers.

In all honestly, I feel that's what I really wanted to do. For me, as a reader, when I think, "this manga will remain in my heart," it means, for example, it phenomenally hurt me: It's those kinds of experiences I'm after." - Pajime Hisayama (My favourite hurting author).

That's praise worthy. They lowered the stupid blur.
Subjectivity is a joke on MAL. If you implicitly bring in subjectivity in your counter argument, you've already lost the debate. Also this website is a fankid infestation , have pity on those kids by ignoring there quotes as they have absolutely no clue what exactly is going on.

remember that trailers are mostly the top quality versions. Real product can be on lower level.

They advertised this season for fall and aired it in December which is still in Fall for the anime schedule. If they are now advertising Part 2 for winter then the latest it could air is March, although I believe they will do January.

I think the first 8 episodes were phenomenally well done and paced quite well, especially on binge-watching.

episodes 9-12 suffered from somewhat a big drop in pacing and quality but the last 4 episodes were great (apart from the CGI).

ep 11 and 13 were very good I think. 14 was disappointed and 15-16 were phenomenal. Hopes are there that the first 4-5 eps of part 2 are good

If production for part 2 started back in October of 2020, then they won't be adapting the final fight in this next part. Only until chapter 131 I think, with everything else being adapted with a movie, and tbh, a movie schedule is gonna be so needed for all the chaos that is going on in the final fight.

My prediction: Part 2 adapting 117-131 with approximately 10 episodes and then a movie about 1 hour and 40 minutes long adapting the rest.

Doubt it, the scripts are not all done at the same time.

FMA:B started in April 2009 and the director in Dec 2008 said they had just finished the script for ep 18 out of 64, the production itself had started in April 2008.

And of course the script for ep 64 was made before the manga ended because the mangaka gave them the drafts.

spy was just baiting, nothing more. We will get 13-14 eps. What we can hope is that they delay it till march so the last 14 eps can air from march-july

I also thought of maybe a part 2 with 10 episodes and then a movie considering how hard to animate those last parts are but eslam already said that logic will win. And logic states that Kodansha will end the series ASAP and a movie will extend it for 2-3 more years lmao.

Lmao i'm really worried for part 2 even though things are looking better because I really can't imagine how that will be animated.

they could do a movie for fall 2022 which would be realistic and is enough time but that's way too much hopium. Now what we can hope for is that part 2 airs in march. it will have more than 12 eps and they said winter season. So lets say 14 eps from march-june? because airing 14 eps from January-march isnt that possible and December is still fall season. Thats the only thin we can hope for. And considering they started production in fall 2020, they'll have at least 12-15 months without pandemic to scrap their plans. They quality will be better than part 1 for sure.

actually we have 10 action heavy chapters instead of 8 this part. And its still 23,5 chapters that way too much for 12 eps, even 13 is only possible if they cut out many things. NHK broadcast isnt always normal so march 2022 is possible. I think they gonna air a 14 eps four from march till June so the final season has like 30 eps

but with how many deaths there are, they will take their time to adapt them properly. Didn't ep 8 only adapted 1,3 chapters? I cant imagine them doing 12/13 eps with 23,5 chapters left XD and I included 122 with my 10 chapters

13 episodes to be symbolic. People underestimate how much action there is. I'm sure we'll have at least a sequence each episode for those that won't be full action.

if they adapt the entirety of 117-139 in the next part this series is truly doomed chapter 130-139 would atleast take 2 and a half years to look decent. The final arc is nearly inpossible to animate in suh a short timespan, the best case scenario is that 117-129/130 2nd cour then 130/131-139 into a movie.

part 2 will be more action than dialogue, and hiroshi seko, his typical writing series composition is action scene will take more chapter than dialogue scene (based on aot s4p1 and jjk series composition). so we can guess part 2 will take fewer episode than part 1. I'm guessing 12 eps will be enough with 1 year production and we have expecting great action quality
