| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Admit it, you're here because studio Bones is doing this original work. A little side project before My HeroAca Season 5 premieres end-March. A skate-boarding show in the veins of Ikebukuro West Gate Park gang punk style, what a stark contrast to J.C.Staff's skating version of Yuri on Ice!!. Reki's such a ruthless character, and newbie Canadian transfer student Langa is just as innocent as he comes. Getting right into the beef (meat) without any delay, that's a good foreshadowing into the skateboarding world of "S" (you can read the synopsis for that). Y'know, it's funny to see a newbie try out his hands on something new, and immediately getting a full grasp of it in the same vein as snowboarding (because the U.S. is prevalent with snow), that is already impressive in and of itself. Truly getting Initial D vibes, skateboarding style. If there's one thing that BL fans are here for, it's the gayness of the all-male cast, especially between leads Reki and Langa. Of the 2 skating shows this season, this one is really up there, I'd put it on a high pedestal. A really good start, Bones has never failed to impress with style! | That was good start! Really enjoying ep 1 so far. Its been a while since i get exicted watching racing/sport type anime lol the last time was air gear(that i've seen a long time ago), so this type of show is pretty refreshing to watch. Langa skateboarding scene was gorgeous. The ED are pretty funny & the OP are good too, idk why but the op reminds me a bit of Free lol Looking forward for the next ep! |

| That was very good. Visually, it's excellent. Attractive art style, really nice animation, bright and colorful color palette, and the overall street punk style this has just looks cool. Not sure why, but this invokes feelings of nostalgia for mid 2000's anime. The skating sequences didn't cheap out on animation either, they looked really solid. As for the story, it reminds me a little of Air Gear. Neat idea of having a snowboarder become a skateboarder too. Very much looking forward to more. |
| Pretty neat production wise. Doesn't look bad and everything is smooth. This really be reminding me of Initial D, though. Downhill racing, 2 racers, etc. Even Langa, who seems very similar to Takumi, both having innate talent for skateboarding and/or years of practice. Even initially they do not seem to have interest in racing. Guessing whoever is laughing at a bunch of TV screens is the villain, which we will probably only see occasionally just until the last few episodes. In the opening sequence, I really thought he looked like F/SN Lancer though, haha. Good start, and looking even more forward to my weekends. Also very nice to see a Canadian in an anime series (though still very stereotypical). |
| It's so much fun, also accompanied by a really smooth animation, the designs are also really detailed which is a surprise with the huge amount of movement this episode has. Hope it keeps getting funnier each episode, also, please don't expect a lot of 'bl vibes' from this, the director's previous original work(Free!) goes as far as you can possibly go without entering bl territory. |
| That was a fun start, like a really amusing one. Visuals and animation were really great. Both of the leads seem like likeable dudes. The skate race was pretty hype too. So this Langa's using his snowboarding experience in skating, now that's sick and that last scene was really lit af. |

| I loved it, the animations really good, loved it since the first min and the characters (at least the mains) are pretty likable. Of course as usual Rude-a never ceases to amaze me, that's why the OP was phenomenal ^^ Damn that last scene, Langa you're on fire!!! |

| Starting off with a bang! 1v1 with Shadow! Reki get's fucked, rip his arm. Spectacular visuals in the op, pretty good song too. Langa Hasegawa, He's Canadian and half asian just like me, where's my blue hair tho? Those small skateboard toys brought me back to my childhood :o. snowboarding --> skateboarding! it translates. I can already tell that this is going to be one of the best anime of the season. Hope this season will make make up for the lackluster fall 2020, not even a full week into the season and already so many good anime. Let's get sk8ing in the 90s! |

The style is cool and it got a good amount of positive energy. The music is nice as well, even that bit of Beethovens 5th and I vibe hard with that ending. |

| Interesting characters, great art & animation & music. All in all my favourite premiere from this season. Kinda reminded me of the webtoon Wind Breaker mixed with last season's IWGP. The ED is very funny lmao. The OP has great visuals as well. I thought Langa would be your usual annoying emo prodigy type of character at first but he turned out to be the complete opposite. He's just a super awkward dude (still a prodigy tho lol). It was a nice surprise. But man, the commercial break skits were ADORABLE |

| Quite entertaining, I don't know the first thing about skating but it was very fun to watch. Definitely a little on the more over the top side but not a bad thing as it's fun. The skating sequences look cool, music is great and Bones have their nice production value as always. Curious what the story is gonna be like, looking forward to more. Expecting good things. |

| I highly doubt that skateboarding is any different in Japan compared to America but I have never experienced anything like this in skateboarding. I had high expectations for this anime since there really isn't any anime/manga about skateboarding. The animation is great but the story is really basic. Skateboarding isn't really used for racing... I've never seen air gear but I assume that has more racing in it. How does this man not know how to balance on a skateboard but he can balance on a snowboard...? Honestly this would have been better as a snowboarding anime. This anime isn't anything special. |

| shit was kinda good with a lot of potential the air gear SKATE we never asked for but didn't know we needed ,bones is making this look damn good too hopefully it isn't too over the top but it doesn't look like theres any superpowers outside of the one mask dude straight looking like Dio lol. there are quite a few shows this season aimed at the ladies i don't think this one is one of them but i can already see people shipping ,was still holding out for at least one girl in the cast lol will watch with great interest with the whole underground death hill racing |
