Welp, training time. Training seems like the only way for Riri to improve herself.Even though she's less experienced than others, I like how she has everyone's support.

Riri and Yuya in particular has character chemistry that I think is worth watching. Action is pretty stylish again with Yuya and Riri fighting the good fight this episode. Yuya's despair scenes were rough to watch though.

Well history explained.
But from the looks of it the new couple sill do fine with the powers they got.
Riri being able to cure Yuyu might be a option which will be fun to watch.

The others girls caring was nice as well.

Training once again but the second half was more interesting with the drama with Yuyu, it's pretty sad + animation during the fights was surprisingly good

Still can't get over how disproportional thighs look in this anime. It's so weird xd

Overall though, a fair 6-/10 story with nice designs and interesting enough. I'm waiting for more lovely interactions between the main duo.

Some training for Riri. She definitely needs to improve her skills.

Feel bad for Yuyu.

The directors know what they’re doing here: https://imgur.com/a/ILkC3kF Great birthday present.

Such a beautiful and heartwarming episode for Riri and Yuyu who have finally come to understand each other. Riri beginning to call YuYu “onee-sama” was adorable. As usual, great job by SHAFT with the direction and choreography this episode.

good fighting animation, riri seems to have cured yuyu from her depression so that's good. Now for riri to train and become strong.

So Yuyu went berserk after her partner was injured and then she stabbed her while being in frenzy? Or i got it wrong.
Anyway, i wonder if Shaft is on it's way out, because there are no "big" shows in the sight, only second season of Madoka Gaiden. Some staff left, no new original ideas.

This feels kinda off since the later half of last episode. Things have been progressing really fast too. Thou I'm loving the top class thigh service, damn those are some high tier thighs they have.

That was a tragic flashback, looks like Yuyu did do some lethal damage to her nee sama. Also is she back to her normal self? Seems like it.

Yuyu is a really good character. I like the fact that, although she has such a serious problem with her past, she is struggling to overcome it. Riri's motivation still seems unconvincing, though.

I found the girls' victory too easy and unfortunately I have the impression that the anime will not stop being so expository.

I wish it had better writing.

Assault Lily could be much better, but it is still decent.

What an amazing episode this was!
A little bit slow on the first half, but the second half was amazing with Yuyu's backstory, Riri finally getting Yuyu to open up, and the closing scene where Yuyu shows that she's finally "free" from her past!
I'm surprised that this has such a low score, so far, this is the breakout show of the season.

This was a good episode. We learned that Yuyu’s last partner died to protect her from herself when Yuyu went “berserk”.

Can’t deny those thighs, they are the best part of this show.

When Yuyu's hair turned white it reminded of Hanekawa from the monogatari series.

Anyways we were able to see a different side of Yuyu this episode as well as a chunk of her past life. A lot of fan service not surprised there and Riri deepening her bond with Yuyu threw the battle when Yuyu lost herself and went sicko mode on the creature.

Good episode :)

Now we know why Yuyu’s despair and why she’s like this.

Okay, with that lily going berserk it cemented my opinion that the show has a similar vibe to Shuumatsu Nani Shitemasu ka? Isogashii Desu ka? Sukutte Moratte Ii Desu ka?. Now I'm not suggesting it will be as awesome. I get teary still thinking about the last episode when Scarbough Fair starts playing. One of the best sequences ever committed to film. Emotional does not even come close to describing it.

Anyway, I digress. This show definitely has darker undertones and vibes even know we got a lot of cute girls with fat thighs. After today's action packed episode I can only imagine we going to indulge in some wild viewing this show!

Poor Yuyu. We knew already how hard it was for anyone to get her to open up, but I wasn't expecting her backstory to be this tragic, though. =(

Misuzu was able to help snap Yuyu out of her berserk trancer mode, but I still had to whince a bit at seeing Yuyu's sword completely impaled into Misuzu like that. Ouch...

So seeing Yuyu losing her cool and going into her trancer mode against the Huge was a bit worrying, but Riri came to the rescue to snap Yuyu out of her trance and help her to beat the Huge. Once again, the production values of the fight was very good. =)

Plus, the thigh shots and the fanservice moments are still a treat, especially when Riri was lucky enough to land, head first, into a nice pair of cushions earlier in that Huge fight. =P

Amazing chapter!!! Since the Lilies starting passing the attack between them like Pep Guardiola´s Barcelona I knew this was going to be completely great.

So the story took a dark spin here. Not only that HUGE had CHARMs as war trophies, but also Yuyu got traumatized after killing her Schutzengel herself. Just wow. Never expected this. Nice animation and scenes during the fight. Also kinda emotive. 5/5 for this one, thinking about giving this an 8.

This episode felt so much like a climax... It was a bit weird actually, everything escalated so quickly, in ten minutes we went from fun discussions, to Yuyu unleashing all her pain, to Yuyu having chnged for the better. That's way too fast, I barely know Yuyu, this should've happened much later, her development isn't satisfying since I don't know her, and it was so rushed.

Plus, while interesting and touching I can't help but feel like the whole thing surrounding Yuyu is nothing but fanservice. Think about it : she's a black-haired kuudere with a tragic past, a trope very popular, especially since Homura Akemi who she happens to reassemble quite a lot. She is a magical girl with badass powers. Again, very popular. She is a cute girl who goes insane out of pain. Also very popular. And then an heartwarming conclusion kicks in with some yuri as a bonus. Do I need to say more ? They clearly just did that because they know it can appeal to a lot of people. I don't feel like they actually put real work in Yuyu's character, which is exactly why it feels so rushed, it's just fanservice. That's too bad, especially because of how good her seiyuu is (at least when she isn't trying to mimick Chiwa Saito).

But actually, the whole show feels like huge fanservice and that's becoming more and more obvious that it is exactly that : fanservice, in every way possible. Probably so that they can sell their toys.
I'll keep watching because this show still has a charm (no pun intended), I quite like some of the characters and it isn't bad, and I still have hope that it will surprise me, but I'm not expecting much from it now.

And just like that Riri's broken through Yuyu's deep trauma and they can defeat anything with the power of being gal pals... I don't think anything interesting is going to happen here. The second flashback that makes it look like Yuyu really did kill her after all almost makes me want to keep going, but I doubt we'll get much more than love conquers all. Also was disappointed during the fight. Berserker Yuyu didn't do much of anything. They kept showing her standing around.

Can we name this season THIGH 2020 already instead of Fall 2020? There's no escaping the thigh this season.

The bath scenes were interesting, Kaede was looking especially fine there. That figure is insane.

Riri has a really tough time training, but not surprising since Yuzu is training her. Yuzu's backstory is quite the trauma. Losing control of her rare skill was bad enough, but to think she killed her own shutzengel with it. That was much more brutal than I had expected.

Riri with all her inexperience saved the day. Action was alright, I had just hoped to see more of Berserk Yuzu. That white hair looks amazing though.

Hello semblances lmao, let’s not even try to hide our inspirations.

The writing and general tone of the show feels very messy. I cracked up when the character who said ‘it’s not my place to tell Yuyu’s past’ or whatever last episode just decided to explain everything now.

Not really sure where this is going since they just seemed to speedrun through Yuyu’s backstory and have to power of love solve everything; that’d seemed like the main overhanging plot point. I’m guessing speedrun the 15 other named characters or built up to some twist/dark event? (Probably both?) Maybe they will at least feel more unique — I am so tired of Madoka and Homura knock-offs.

The Madoka blood here seems to be all Magia Record, unfortunately. Even then, Magia Record had a lot more stylistic flair/general sakuga flexing — Assault Lily’s production quality has been fine, but disappointingly unremarkable for Shaft standards.

Okay I have several things to say.

First of, this gives me more Madoka Magica vibes than there exist stars in the Universe. The similarity is insane.

Second, holy shit Yuyu reminds so much of Tsubasa Kazanari from SymphoGear, they way she won't accept Lily because she've already once before lost something dear and is afraid of losing another, so she's carrying everything on herself. Tsubasa is the exact same and she also looks like her quite a good amount.

Third, Omg I can't stop thinking about how big those ass and thighs are, it's insane, tho in this case compared to many other animes with too big ass and thighs, I actually really do think it fits in without ruining the show, it doesn't stand out in the wrong way but you still enjoy their juicy thighs!

Thigh assault was in full force this week, surprised we got Yuyu's arc done already normally it gets dragged on till the end but this leaves room for other characters now kinda already guessed everything from the first episode but at least now i know she always had a roomate she was just gone i can't help but wonder what she might think every time she comes back to seeing her just sitting in the dark

SymphoGear vibes are still there, still doubt the story will hold much weight but im hoping at least the cuts of nice animation and thighs can keep me going to finish off the Friday night anime train

The pacing in this show is really damn fast than the first two episodes. Yuyu and Riri are now partners, yet both of them are in the opposite side of the spectrum. There's also training between the two yet it's pretty much Yuyu treating Riri like a punching bag. And we got another bathservice with Kaede and the girls. We also learned Yuyu's past.

We have the battle with the HUGE. Yuyu activates her Lunatic Trancer aka crossing her limiter aka Ken Kaneki aka Zero Two's wrath side. This spells trouble but with the fucking power of love, Riri comes in to save her and finally connects with each other. Everything was going downhill, until the revelation that Yuyu's senpai we've been seeing just before the ED theme plays was actually dead. That was shocking.

Now that the first arc's done, I feel torn. I really like the show (from a person who haven't watched Madoka Magica yet) but there's too much flaws that the show might never fix. Let's see if it steadies its course or will flail in mediocrity.

This week's episode made me partially dissatisfied with the scene of Riri jumping towards Yuyu, no matter how beautiful the aforementioned scene looked, what is behind it is what generatesme noise. First, Riri drops her weapon, and This doesn't even respect the laws of gravity, second, it leaves her and Yuyu unprotected and unprepared against the Huge, third, the action itself was a kind of evangelization for Riri's Schutzengel to regain reason and stop using her ability and, finally, yuri power wins lol. Already, in itself, I see it as a waste of the potential of Yuyu's trauma and, if my assumptions are wrong, she is still "darks" because as evangelized as she has been in this episode, they have not yet exorcised her inner demons, so to speak, and that scene would really be a waste and could have been handled in a better way, unless they give us an explanation like "that's the way Riri's skill is manifested" or something like that, but something not so stoned please.
