Another funny episode. So Yota's parents know about Hina's existence, and they're relatives! So they are really a family of gods?

After three failed attempts, Yota succeeded. Izanami surely enjoyed that song, she's smiling! Hina really helped Yota progress his relationship with Izanami. What happened to Sora tho?

24 days until the world ends!

The movie filming was so much fun with all those movie references lmao. My man Youta is really trying to get closer to Izanami

Izanami is shaping up to be a really likeable character. The piano performance was such a heartwarming scene.

I wonder what Youta's parents know about Hina.

When Izanami played the piano, she looked even more beautiful <3

Strange? It's the ending of Rocky 1 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tc7H9s4PdSI

Hina trued to put him in scenes where the two characters end up in love, but Izamani wasn't cooperating.

So we get a movie reference for Armageddon (maybe foreshadowing?), Rocky, and Edward Scissorhands. I guess the creative team enjoys classics. I had Your Lie in April vibes as well when they were playing the piano.

tHERE iS A LOT TO UNPAcK tHIS EPiSOde, HOLY GOD! I have great fun with this episode throughout. From the first meeting between Hina and Youta's parents to the movie references of Armageddon and Rocky, Sora being a wild imouto. And that beautiful piano scene between Youta and Izanami. Also a very marvellous OP and a nice ED.
Kyoko Izanami also will be one of my Top 10 girls this season. This one was a late hit anime, hope it continues to impress me well.

But there's one thing I had to point out. Youta should have confessed to Izanami there, it was such a romantic scene. I am disappointed, that's like one of the worst bitch outs for an anime confession. I was so enraged that I slammed my earphones...... and now they gawn (literally true, i'm not joking). Now I had to buy a new one for that! Anyways great episode, Hina is adorable, Izanami is a waifu to have, the parents are fun, and F to that wuss move.

A hilarious episode of Narukami trying and failing to woo Izanami, though losing 1/5 of the remaining days for it is slightly unfortunate when he cowered out of trying to confess again at the last minute. That aside, I don't think we have enough context about Sora and her upperclassman yet for the cliffhanger to have too much of an impact, as I'm more curious about what's happened than concerned about her at this moment in time. I'm sure we'll get some more context next week to change that, though.

She was going to reject him anyway no matter what, after all the rejections she doesn't want a relationship or can't, we need to wait why she reject him but for now even with the perfect moment she won't accept.

The OP and ED sound nice... not much else to say here tbh lol. Can't really remember them right now, but hey, maybe they'll grow on me.
So the first episode was titled "The Day A God Descended", and this episode is titled "The Day of the Melody". I guess this show's episode title motif will be "The Day (x)". Probably a stupid thought here, but let's hope the titles don't get super spoilery like it tends to be in Toei Animation's shows.

It seems that this little goddess's full name is "Hina Odin". Cute name!
Still wonder how the parents know her though... I doubt she's just a relative with possible family problems. It doesn't seem like she's a fan of JRPGs though, she fell asleep not long after trying one out lol.

Okay, this next bit here—I seriously don't know if it's Hulu's fault, Funimation's fault, my shitty internet/headset's fault (hey I wanna listen to all the audio details as much as possible, so these days I usually watch with headphones), or if it was a problem from the original episode itself. So there's the scene where Sora asks Yota to help her with her summer vacation film assignment. Yota agrees, and Hina goes to say "Why do I even bother?" or whatever equivalent of what Funimation translated there. But at the beginning of her line, there's this really loud and distracting audio distortion. It hurt my ears. I didn't imagine it either, as I went back to that part of the episode several times just to make sure I wasn't imagining some really loud mic distortion or peaking or whatever. I have no idea what the hell happened here. Please tell me I'm not the only one who notices this.

Sora's first film take is of Yota warning Kyouko that an asteroid will hit the earth and that he has to go fix it. Who wants to bet that this will the cause of the "end of the world" that Hina keeps talking about? XD Also, why is his dad here? Doesn't he have work? I also like the android suit Hina made for Yota with the weird scissor hands and beak. Didn't know that it was referencing something until I checked this thread though.

It turns out that Kyouko wants to work in the music industry and is going for some kind of psychology major, and Hina suggests that Yota composes a heartbreaking, emotional song.............. wait... is Jun Maeda putting part of himself around here? Does he know a little girl with omniscience and have her help out with his music compositions in real life? lmao

Also, what happened to Sora? I guess we'll have to find out in the next episode.

✶ ⋆ ✶ ⋆ ✶ ⋆ ✶ ⋆ ✶ ⋆ ✶ ⋆ ✶ ⋆ ✶ ⋆ ✶ ⋆ ✶

Now for some more theorizing conspiracy stuff, or whatever thought/rant thing I had on my post for the last episode. Stay away if you're not a fan of any of that, cuz it's possible that this show will end up doing said things.

Some other things I noticed after going back through the episode:

There's a furin wind chime with goldfish on it. Really subtle. I didn't catch this the first time.

When Hina demonstrates the song to Youta, she plays without sheet music, meaning that she must have known and memorized this song from somewhere else. I doubt she could have written it herself if she's even having trouble playing it.
She then gives some sheet music to Youta. Whether this song is a released song in their universe or a personal song remains to be known.

If you pay attention, the song actually follows the sheet music... kind of. It's all consistent up until the end of measure 6 when the audio plays measures 4-6 again before moving on. There doesn't seem to be a repeat in the sheet music.
Even pages 3 and 4 are accurate.

This is something that probably means absolutely nothing, but I think it's interesting how from the beginning to middle of the song, Kyouko is evidently sight-reading the piece. Near the end, however, her eyes are shut long enough to where I wouldn't call it sight-reading anymore. This could just mean that she's "feeling" the song and improvising with the chord progressions, but the audio follows the sheet music to a T. Maybe she's heard this song before (some Maeda shenanigans) and is playing by heart?

I had high expectations on this anime, but so far I'm feeling disappointed. The characters are generic and the plot is too silly. It doesn't even look like a work from Jun Maeda. I hope it gets better in the next episodes, because I'm starting to lose my faith on this.

We’re two episodes in and you’re calling the characters generic? Have you heard of something called character development that takes time? The plot isn’t silly and it’s actually a nice refreshing premise

idk why my mind immediately went to sora being hit by a car but if she's able to somewhat stand upright then i'm sure she's gotta be okay after whatever happened to her

izanami so cute, hope the show doesn't butcher her character and will give her a fleshed out backstory and some other personality traits besides being a pretty quiet girl

A really good episode, Hina is full of energy as always. I actually really want Yota succeed he and Izanami feels good together. And they've been together since childhood.

That piano scene was beautiful, Izanami really loves music I suppose since it made her look so happy, that was really nice.

I wonder what happened to Sora though, Overall I really enjoyed that episode and I think the parent's does know something about Hina. We'll see what happens next.

I feel like the whole piano scene was amazing because it seems that Izanami will finally revive but that song...the feels, i can see it :/

The movie recording parts were just amazing, it was always his father and him hahaha And Izanami's "wtf" attitude was the best xD

That ending tho, i wonder what happened to Sora.

Considering the "end of the world" theme of the show, I have to wonder if the Armageddon scene isn't going to end up as some kind of foreshadowing for the direction the story goes later on.

God, the Op! It's so beautiful, especially the first few seconds. Coupled Yanagi Nagi-san's voice, it's the perfect combo! What a season of great Op's we're having!

Time limit dropped to 24 days?! I thought the piano practice was of just a couple of hours or something xD. Would've been weird for a complete amateur to master the piano in such a short time but to think that 1/6th of the time has already passed is kind of .. eventful.

Izanami-san's past revealed and I'm liking her even more now, lol. Most beautiful of the school, now that's something! Damn, her piano skills are over the roof though. Loved that whole scene, I bet this is going to return later during the crux of one of the high tempo drama soon.

Lol, the whole movie section was gold though. Izanami's rampant questions were on-point lmao. Also, it's mad hilarious how the whole family's got the gods of sky, earth, time and sun in name covered while Hina's got none of it except for Sato maybe.

What're those final moments supposed to signify, I wonder...

By the way, the Narukami parents are aware of Hina's existence? Kind of got that impression during that scene of the couple talking while Hina was asleep.

Looks like the episode count has been confirmed, and it's sadly yet again just a cour. I figured it'd be a cour since production started late last year but why not 13-15 episodes instead? I feel like they could be really vital but well, too early to ponder about that.

6 days went by probably cuz of the first movie scene and 2nd movie scene part.

I like how nice and lovely Youta's parents are. I still don't understand why they let Hina stay in their house, though.

Learning Kyouko's past definitely made me appreciate her more as a character. She still lacks a little characterization, but I hope it will be fixed in the next episodes.

Overall, another great episode. That filming part was absolutely hilarious.

Nagi Yanagi's OST for this show really works wonders, the same way it hit me for Kino's Journey 2017, pretty good stuff!

Having no choice, Youta has to drag Hina to his house, and the comedy ensues just like normal LOLs. Youta's parents are quite nice, though her intrusion is like some form of mind control of filling her business in from both parents. Don't question the logic, just enjoy for what it's worth. Also, Youta's whole family can be considered a god of something each, HEH, talk about injury of smirks.

Kyouko Izanami's backstory is a whole lot of pain though, more than hiding behind Youta from young. The quick basketball scene, YEP, that is totally from Charlotte. But is it was some form of holding back? We'll have to see.

Sora's film assignment...so many movie references LULS. not to mention Izanami's mute replies and Youta's dad being calefare, that shit is insanely hilarious! Not to mention, it took 6 DAYS!? Damn, if it takes THIS long to woo a childhood friend, this was tragedy stacked on existing hurts.

The continuous hurrah for Youta to woo Izanami through piano playing...well that was amateur, but Izanami continuing the written piece, THAT IS AMAZINGLY MAJESTICALLY BEAUTIFUL and the full-on resemblance of Angel Beats' OP on that front. For once, SHE SMILED!

Sora though...WHAT HAPPENED??? The feels with cliffhangers such as these only anticipate more!

Izanami is so good at playing piano she can even add violin chords as well...

Overall, better than first episode but still pretty mediocre. Hina continues to be incredibly annoying and seeing her and Youta being the comedy duo of the season isn't really what I was expecting when I added this show to my list. That Rocky reference was pure gold tho. And they even included a variation of the movie's OST if I'm not mistaken.

Now on a personal note, I really liked Sora's character design. Pretty lively and design-wise, I can't help but think of Kyouko from Madoka Magica when I see her.

That said, it feels like Hina is getting more and more human, but at the same time there are still some unexplainable things (like the horse race). Especially with that conversation between the parents, I wonder if the 30 days left to the Earth really refer to her.

I want to believe that the twist will end up in something positive but with Jun Maeda it is better to prepare the tissues and I hate it.

Really enjoying Kamisama ni Natta Hi!
Probably my favourite behind Mahouka for anime of the season.
Though I still have no idea which direction this anime is taking...so far it seems very comedic, but I doubt it’s the main focus. Likely more drama to follow.

The bad omen at the end seems very foreboding in particular.
