THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- I just saw this movie in the cinema. It’s awesome. First few seconds and the whole screening room burst into laughter. |

Sweet movie, but I would‘ve preferred another season. The pacing was a bit fast and the fight against Silvia felt very stretched and got boring after some time. The comedy in most parts of the movie were gold though. |

It felt a bit rushed. Rather than making the last battle longer and more epic (i prefer the anticlimactic ending from the novel) they should have adepted more content from the book, like exploring the village, tourist scams and the cringy otaku shrines. The best parts of the movie were, what they took straight from the book. I noticed that Kazuma in this movie is closer to Kazuma from the novels. Season 1 and 2 really tuned his moral depravity and inner thoughts down. |

It was an awesome experience to watch this great movie at the cinema. Having read the LN, I saw little divergence from the source material, until the end, where a bit was done differently, which didn't bother me at all. All in all, a hilarious movie with great humour. The whole crowd kept on laughing. Megumin's explosions with the audio of the movies were also a surreal experience. I love the crew and can't wait for an anime continuation. |

A little rushed, but pretty epic, and a lot of fun! Seeing the beginning of Kazuma x Megumin on screen was pretty nice, too. |

This was so fucking fun to watch in theater, especially watching it with a friend. J.C. Staff clearly put all of their effort here instead of in One Punch Man, and it really shows. I usually get bored with movies, but I was having a blast the entire time with this one and it was over before I knew it! I heard this movie did pretty well too, so I await a new season! 8/10. Story: 8/10 Art: 9/10 Sound: 8/10 Characters: 9/10 Enjoyment: 9/10 Raw score: 8.6/10 Final score: 8/10 To see how I believe this show stacks up against other anime I have seen, click here. |

Just got back from the theater, this was fantastic, absolutely glorious at parts and just downright hilarious. Don't really know what more needs to be said, it's literally more of the Konosuba we all know and love and they nailed everything about it. If that isn't reason enough to watch it, then what is? I loved all the thumbs up scenes and there were a surprising amount of heartfelt moments which I loved too. Production was great and the animation for the beam sequence at the very end was amazing. finally, after 2 years, new Konosuba I laughed so hard tears streamed down my cheeks and my sides hurt, within the first half-hour no fancy intro, no fancy outro, no 'cinematic upgrade'- just one hour and a half of pure Konosuba, complete with intertitles- basically an extra long episode or a season compressed into a movie, however you would look at it. I wonder if Kazuma being sexually assaulted by the orcs is a parody of Goblin Slayer, especially the explanation that the orcs need to copulate with other species in order to reproduce. It occurred to me that Urusei Yatsura's Ataru Moroboshi -> to Ghost Sweeper Mikami's Tadao Yokoshima -> Konosuba's Kazuma. My only points of critique are that is film is pretty much a Megumin vehicle, which might be expected- sadly Aqua and Darkness took a backseat, and I feel Yunyun got shafted despite an opportunity to give her a bigger role, but as expected given her fate as a friendless wonder. The other Crimson Demons were all joys to behold (especially Arue, with her ojousama curls!) My award for best new character will go to Sylvia though, I would have liked to see her stick around, and it made me sad that she seems to have shuffled off this mortal coil. Very erotic body, what a waste. countdown to this movie being called transphobic in 3, 2, 1... |

I really enjoyed it, I was worried for a second because they skipped a bit from the LNs, not to mention the way this story was structured, you would have to have read the Megumin prequel spinoff Bakuen beforehand, they made note of the events but didn’t really go in on them or any of the side characters. Though it was still very enjoyable. The second half of the final fight was almost entirely original and felt like a pretty incredible love letter to the series so far. I was disappointed that they took out Megumin’s explicit “I like you” from the second locked room scene but I think the visuals convey the same sentiment, I mean the last shot of the film is literally the explosion forming into a heart. Overall really fun tho the Crunchyroll subs were kinda subpar, I caught a “I’m name is yunyun” towards the climax in the theater. |

I feel mixed about this movie. It wasn't quite as funny as the tv series. The rape joke, and Kazuma being homophobic, yet the anime not criticizing him for it, and the only LGBT character being a villain is...offensively bad. I mean it's 2019, yet Japan still just doesn't get it. It's not about being "politically correct", a SJW, or something, it's about respecting other people: respecting male victims of sexual assault, respecting the LGBT community especially, who are the group who have it the hardest in America. Still, I laughed my ass off at a lot of jokes. Watching this movie made me realize another reason why I love Konosuba: it's the sense of sincerity behind the characters' personalities. Yes, they're quirky, yes they're morons, yes they're assholes especially, but at the end of the day, they just behave that way because that's who they are, and they're still...kind of good people. The fact that they're so open to showing each others' flawed sides makes the sense of friendship among the characters feel more sibling-like, feel more genuine. As a result, I think Kazuma and his party feel more...human than most anime characters. There were much more sentimental moments in this movie where Kazuma's party wasn't just treating each other like shit. Aside from being incredibly sexy, I liked how the LGBT villain just wanted to be loved in the end. It was especially hilarious how in her attacks she was yelling, "love", "hope", things that you'd expect the good guys to say. ChinchinDaisuki7 said: It felt a bit rushed. Season 1 and 2 really tuned his moral depravity and inner thoughts down. You mean that Kazuma was more of an asshole in the movie, like he is in the light novels? Well I mean, the fact that he was willing to betray his friends just to get smothered in boobies somehow elevated him into another level of Kazutrash. Aside from being an asshole who doesn't take shit from anyone, what I love about Kazuma is that unlike other isekai anime, like Re: Zero, he doesn't have any special powers, nor is he the chosen one. In fact, he's weak. His strength simply comes from having a believable amount of intelligence + having absurdly high luck. |

I have some interesting, albeit conflicting feelings toward this film. Before I go in-depth, I'll give my basic thoughts: All in all, Konosuba -God's blessing on this wonderful world! Legend of Crimson is a very enjoyable continuation of its series with plenty a laugh and some surprising depth in some regards. The bottom line is, more Konosuba is always great. And this film does indeed align with that thought. However, I'm hesitant to say that this series thrives on the big screen. This is very much an extended TV episode. Which, by all means, is still a joy to watch. That said, some elements of Konosuba simply do not work in a movie format. The movie begins with a blazing pace, and quickly gets past the introductions. As someone who has read the source material, I did not mind this. Though, I wonder how an anime-only viewer feels about it. Side Note: I'm surprised there wasn't a proper opening sequence in the film. The movie had 3 vocal tracks (+ 1 remix) in its soundtrack, and yet only the credits included a song. As a whole, I have no issues with the story. In fact, I enjoy how much Kazuma's "popular phase" was emphasized in comparison to the light novels. While I'm at it, I didn't have any (personal issues) with the film's "edgier" jokes. While the Orcs scene was undoubtedly traumatizing for Kazuma (the film explicitly says this), it does fall in line with much of the series' humor. I see no issue here. As for Sylvia, I guess I can see why some would find it offensive. I don't believe Kazuma's reaction was out of line, and ultimately, Sylvia is a monster, not a human. I don't believe the film deserves the backlash it got for Sylvia, I might be able to understand how it is personally offensive for some. If you're offended, good for you. You have the right. That said, I found Sylvia to be the best villain this series has had thus far. While her motivations didn't warrant "Let's burn a society down", her character complimented Kazuma and his "popular phase" quite nicely. Ultimately, what holds this film back from being a 10/10 is how the comedy works in a film format. ~20 minutes of Konosuba at a time works wonders for the series. It's the perfect length for this kind of comedy and doesn't overstay its welcome. While the movie was very much hilarious, 1 and a half hours of constant comedy doesn't work as well for me. Especially for it to be in 1 sitting. All of the comedy worked for me, but I wanted a bit more of the serious moments. The humor made it feel that the movie was moving too fast for its own sake. Nevertheless, there's so much to love about the film! - Komekko was the obvious highlight. I wasn't especially wanting a Megumin spinoff adapted, but if it means more of her, I'll take it. - There's so many small details to appreciate. For example, Aqua's tea was once again hot water, despite it not being highlighted. - Individually, the funny moments were phenomenal. Aqua pulling up Kazuma's pants, Darkness falling into depression after hearing of the lack of Male orcs, and Kazuma's dynamic with Megumin never failed to entertain. The only aspect of the film I'm firmly mixed on is the animation. Visually speaking, it is definitely animated by a different studio. While the comical facial expressions mostly worked, whenever characters weren't in the forefront, they looked poorly drawn. There were also some obvious shortcuts taken as well. For example, some of Sylvia's movements in the climax were a bit rough and there were a handful of still images being used instead of animated sequences throughout. Nevertheless, I definitely enjoyed my time with the film. And really, I couldn't have asked for much better. 9/10 For all of its "flaws", there are so many highlights that it all balances out. Side Note: The OVAS must be canon now. The first OVA was referenced in the film at one point. |

This film was just amazing. Watching it made me realize just how much I missed these lovable idiots. I was laughing so hard from start to finish. So hard to choose what exactly I can even say is my favorite moment from the film. If anything, the scene where Kazuma (who has Megumin on top of him and under the blanket) gets interrupted by Silvia was by far the one I loved the most. I was laughing so hard at Kazuma's outburst when he came out the house and starting yelling. Honestly gotta give kudos to Jun Fukushima for his incredible voice work as Kazuma. The Crimson Demons being a bunch of chuuni's just like Megumin was a great as well. Now we know why Megumin act's the way she does lmao. All in all this was fantastic and now I certainly need to get on to buying the books cause I do hope a 3rd season gets made sometime in the future. |

I really didn't enjoy this as much as the 2 seasons before it. The orc attempted rape and dick stuff just wasn't funny and insensitive. Raunchiness can be funny like in the first two seasons but this time was just so bad. The villian is not funny at all like the previous ones were and the insensitivity really brings down an otherwise pretty good movie. Season 1 and 2 - 8/10 Movie - 7/10 |

Just saw this in theaters and it was most excellent. The comedy, writing, animation, and explosions were glorious and I died laughing many a time! Also, the audio placement on the theater sound system was great, especially with the "I'm Kazuma" jokes, you'd only hear it in the speakers behind you where he would be placed in the scene and it made it even better! |

man, I would gladly trade the second half of the battle for the tranquility girl scene (I still hope season 3 adapts it). we had a nice KazumaxAqua moment of trust and a way better characterization of Sylvia, but, that could've been done another way. People are complaining about how Sylvia was treated in the movie and I get where this is coming from, but she was much better portrayed here than in the LN, the directors must really like her to go as far as extent the battle, and now she is not only the third Demon General that I feel most sorry for (the first and second places being a tie between Hans and Celestina Overall the movie was nice, I actually prefer this style of animation for Konosuba and I loved how they had things happening in the background, adding the girls background story was a smart decision, even if this lowers the possibility of a Bakuen wo adaptation... ah, Megumin not chanting should not have happened, like, at all, they may have cut it down to gain time and not having it be repetitive since it is a movie (like how the LN does), but still.... |

Had to chance to see it (heh..). Very hilarious, i loved the comedy part and especially the bond that Kazuma and Megumin have. I'm so in love with this story overall, and finally i can start reading the light novel. Oh, a solid 9/10 for me, like both seasons. The Sylvia fight wasn't the best but i absolutely loved the rest. Good job JC Staff (yea i really said it) |

Absolutely hilarious!! Hell, I even think the comedy surpasses the TV series. [s]Kazuma[s] Kuzuma was damn hilarious throughout, especially thanks to that stellar voice acting. Animation was also quite juicy, lots of sakuga transformations and effects. Also, too many insensitive people out there. The jokes are fine. I wouldn't even call Kazuma's reaction as homophobic. Only because he's not interested in people with dicks doesn't mean that he hates them. It's just that he was uncomfortably right up against them (his fault tho). If there was anything I'd complain about, it's that the climax of the movie felt a bit too long. But that almost Devilman-like fusion between Sylvia and Kazuma made up for that :P Also, Kazuma with dem hand animations when he was rubbing Megumin's hand was goddamn hilarious. Haven't laughed that hard in a long ass time XD 8/10 |

I saw this in theaters today and man was it fucking funny, I am pretty satisfied with the production quality, was worried because of the change in studio but it looks as good as the show did. The giant heart shaped explosion in the end with Megumins upgrade was way to cute and I can't wait to see more of Megumin interaction with Kazuma if there is a season 3. I also liked seeing the voice actors in their thank you short at the start of the movie, overall 8/10 experience. |

6.5/10 movie. Kazuma and his voice actor was gold in this movie. Easily the shining star. The comedy was funny at times, cringey at others. But the people at my cinema loved it so fair play. The narrative itself was pretty dull outside the comedy, and the characterization was severly lacking. But Kazuma's presence made up for a decent amount. For Konosuba fans, if they love the show, they'll love this. I have mixed feelings about the show, and same goes to the movie. Take away Kazuma, and this movie would've sucked for me. |

That was a fun movie, this story about Yunyun and mostly about Megumin is actually great when it comes to giving importance to them. It's nice to see her family and village, as well as seeing her and Yunyun changed after the movie ends. Kazuma is still funny as usual, his plan is also entertaining to watch even though it's reckless. The part when the Devil King's forces combined was also great. I think this an okay movie, not as great as the tv though. |

it was a great movie!! the comedy is still there... one thing that I'm a bit pissed is that they remove tranquility girl from the light novel. I love that part. :( even if the movie is great i still have this feeling that the movie was a bit rushed. maybe because I've read the novel and really it is very detailed compared to the movie. but don't get me wrong! I still love it! <3 8/10!!! |

I saw this movie on the hub of pron Basically Konosuba except an entire movie. Has the good jokes, and the epik battle at the end. For some reason Aqua's perspective on just being in a party has changed. Obviously great movie. Really satisfying parts. But there is one thing I'd like see, Vanir getting the craftsman, and Kazuma finally getting the money he wanted. Think of all the things Megumin's dad and mom would probably do. |

I'm glad I was able to catch this movie near me. By the time it finished, me cheeks were sore from all the laughing I did and I assume the majority of the audience had sore cheeks too. =3 Konosuba might've had a change of hands in terms of production company, but I'm happy to say that the animation quality was great overall. J.C Staff did a wonderful job with the details in the comedy moments and the battle against Sylvia had plenty of sakuga moments that was a joy to watch. The comedy aspects, for me at least, were even better than the 2 previous T.V shows and those were already extremely hilarious as it is. Not just that, but my favourite character, Megumin, had a lot of screentime and her scenes, from being locked up sleeping in the same futon as Kazuma in her house and the rather touching moment when Kazuma increased her explosion magic level at the end of the film, was amazing. 9/10 and I already want to watch it again!
