Well. Nagisa's mom pretty much contested Irina for the title ''bitch''.
How could she have thought what she did was normal? Reflecting all her complexes on her child and firmly believing she would've been happier is she had a daughter instead. As a parent, you shouldn't be dissatisfied with your kid like that. ''I'd rather have a daughter'', bitch, go buy a baby born, otherwise appreciate your child is healthy and that he/she loves you :o
Welp that explains things about Nagisa indeed. Ugh @ drugging your own kid... she's nuts. Parenting stress isn't an excuse. Nagisa is too good of a kid to not have snapped at her after learning assassination skills, let alone being grateful for being brought up by her.
I love love love Irina's new look!! And I'm pleasantly surprised they even updated the OP sequence; now Karasuma and Irina face each other in the shot.
Even if he does have talent for assassination, isn't it 'just' masking well his presence and having bloodlust? Not sure if he would be able to kill 'innocent' people... though I guess he can choose his targets but still...
Well, at least this is one series that has bothered to justify why its trap character is a trap in the first place.
In all seriousness though, I hope the series isn't trying to say that Nagisa's home problems are resolved so easily like that; there's no way that that's possible until Nagisa's mum receives some form of therapy or something, as she very clearly has a lot of major issues.
That was a nice insight into Nagisa's character and his life. This is anime, so of course it was taken over the top, but Nagisa's mom isn't such an unusual sight to see. Parents often push their unfulfilled dreams on their children and try to realize themselves through the child, since they weren't able to do it on their own in the past, while strongly believing they do it all for the kid's sake.
Kudos to Nagisa for growing up into fine kid he is, caring for his mom even the way she is, ditching parental expectations and moving on with his life according to his own vision. I'm curious how he'll look with short hairstyle.
My god this was a good episode, After all the fuss about the Red Skull Shinigami, this was a way, way lighter affair.
Irina's transformation, whilst understandable, was actually so much more sexy than her normal self. I really love her in a demur ponytail. So lovely <3
Nagisa's mother, as crazy as it seems, is actually something that happens to a lot of obsessive parents these days who want to shape and mold their children into their own image of an "ideal life". Seen this in real life as well, even to the point where the child just a meek shadow of a puppet with no will of his own. It's just sad to see.
Loved the fact that Nagisa can actually and has the will and the smarts to solve his own problems, with a little help from Koro-Sensei of course.
Oh, and big LOL at Koro's Road Rage, simply for the fact that it's because he's actually use to speeds of Mach 24. Being stuck in the car at a traffic light must have been insanely suffocating.
Omg this episode was really amazing !!! But when Nagisa's mom grabbed his hair I so wasn't expecting that !! But nagisa baby please don't cut your hair you look soooo adorable with it =w= <3
So Nagisa's mother has a lot of issues and anger management is one of them. Get a grip, lady!
Everyone is deciding their future career and their future high school and they're all coming up with stuff not related to assassination. Lol Nakamura writing "nurse" and "maid" as Nagisa's future career.
Everyone is coming up with normal stuff except for Nagisa who thinks that the best career for him is becoming an assassin since he has the talent to kill anyone. But Koro-sensei tells him to think about it again and so he does. But his crazy mother wants to impose her own ideals on her kid – she wants Nagisa to do what she couldn't do including keeping long hair even though Nagisa has a Y chromosome. So she tries to get him out of 3-E so that his grades get better and he can get into the high school she wants him to go to. She believes that her child is too young to make decisions on his own or even have an opinion so she should make decisions for him as her mother since mom knows best. But before deciding your kid's future you should at least ask what he wants – you can't just do whatever you want with his life. He's gonna be living it, not you.
And Nagisa after fearing his mother's scary look for quite a while and not telling what he thinks, he tells her what he wants to do and manages to do what he wants. He also reconsiders his original plan to become an assassin since it would be too dangerous.
... OK, Japan, what the FUCK? Is this actually what you consider a valid parenting style? Is there no such thing as Child Protective Services? In America this crazy-ass bitch would have been locked in jail years ago and Nagisa would be relocated to a better family. If not thrown in the electric chair (and she would deserve it). Was seriously rooting for that whip assassin to kill her.
Cannot believe Koro-sensei didn't bitchslap the fuck out of her, especially if he knows how abusive she is. That's HIS student, after all, and nothing pisses him off worse than someone abusing his students. I couldn't even watch most of the scenes, not without wanting to put my fist through the screen. If I were Koro-Sensei, that bitch wouldn't still have a head attached.
Hated this episode even more than I hated Episode 6. Absolutely unforgivable that Nagisa's bitch of a mother suffered NO repercussions and got NO comeuppance. I don't care what the canon ending of the manga is; as far as I'm concerned, this bitch dies immediately after the conclusion of the final episode (presuming it doesn't end with Koro-Sensei blowing up the planet).
Also, Nagisa's mom reminds me so much of my parents, but not as intense. They probably exaggerated her to represent many strict Asian parents .-. Like mine. Kind of enjoyed this, though I was surprised how easy it was to crack his mom lol. My parents probably wouldn't even budge. I definitely treasured Nagisa more in this episode because I relate to him a lot.
Koro-sensei's Karasuma outfit killed me. Karasuma's image is now ruined LOL
Holy crap, that episode was unexpected O_O Nagisa's mom was pretty scary, pushing him like that to be basically what she wanted in life ... oh boy. I'm glad that Korosensei (dressed up as Karasuma, LOL) was able to calm her down a bit and that Nagisa was able to stand up to her in the end. Good on you! Interesting to see how his parents shaped his life ... in a pretty dramatic way lol. Nice to see Irina in "normal" clothes as well :P
what a nice epiosde. i bet some people experienced what nagisa experienced with her mother. and if the mother said a word that we (children) can't agrue with.....done.
tbh i experienced that. not really that bad like nagisa. i experienced it a little. it's wrong but at the same time it is right. don't know what to say... tbh i don't really like that or more like i dislike something like that. Irina with that outfit tho....so beautiful.
i really like this episode overall. and DAT nagisa deafeat the assasin tho....he already leared a new skill from Shinigami's skill.
An episode dedicated to Nagisa.
Bitch sensei with regular clothes still too hot!
Karma told Nagisa to go Thailand...maybe to be a Ladyboy??!?
Nagisa's mom is absolutely horrible!
Just seeing Nagisa's hair down gave me a raging boner!
Korosensei fails again in trying to impersonate Karasuma! (Tadaomi???) LOLS
Another lame weak ass assassin!?
Korosensei driving a car is a bad idea!
5/5.
Nagisa's mom is batshit insane 0_o
Man, poor Nagisa.... I love him more after this episode, didn't mean I already love him before, just, more now. I want to give him a hug tbh.
Anyway, did Nagisa really killed that guy or just make him unconscious?
Woah. There's being insane. And then there is being motherfucking insane.
Also, MILF Irina. Priceless. (Even if she's only 21, goddamnit)
«Time is passing so quickly. Right now, I feel like complaining to Einstein. Whether time is slow or fast depends on perception. Relativity theory is so romantic. And so sad.» - Kurisu Makise a.k.a. The Zombie
that was more scary than the facepeel assassin...
She's so cute, blue hair & pink dress perfect match, oh wait...
Nagisa learns fast, he did the sound paralysis from faceless, and starting to do house work. It did seem backstory/development should've happened earlier.
Irina's hair looks better now.
Well, Nagisa's mom is difficult. She's the type who expects their kids to do what she herself couldn't, I feel sorry for such people. Okay, she wants Nagisa to be girl? That's ridiculous! I legit dislike her now, thinking of her kid as some tool. Forget idealistic, she's accurate portrayal of a real-life yandere. Her voice actor did a great job though!
I love how perceptive Nagisa is, definitely the most badass character of this show.
Great episode, can't wait for Nagisa to cut his hair!
So we are gonna forget about the mental and physical abuse? I mean she freaking drugged him.
Oh, pitiful shadow cloaked in darkness. Thy actions cause men pain and suffering. Thy hollow soul drowns in thy sins. How would you like to see what death is like? -Enma Ai
Wow Nagisa's mum. sure there are parents who take their failures and are willing to snap their children's bones if it helps them "avoid" similar mistakes but it can be taken too far.
I'm Bruneian and I like anime. And Manchester United. And fat cats.
It's fun to see how everyone gets advise from koro sensei regarding their plans for the future. Of course nagisa would chose something that has to do with his talent of assassination. His mother in rage has been hilarious though.
The funnier part was where koro sensei disguised himself as karasuma.
