Love this episode- the sword golem character design and animation were great... Well that prime senator only lasted for few minutes before he has been defeated easily... And that sword golem sure is a boss level monster, even alice and kirito has been killed instantly... And here comes the other admin... lets see what will happen in this one.. |

Pretty cool episode! Chudelkin was a joke this episode xD, I was sure he’d at least pose a threat for half the episode. Alice sure was in a pinch though, so good thing Kirito managed to deal with the original Chudelkin quickly. Lots of censoring there with the overflowing gushing blood by the way, yikes. Eugeo giving that slight backup by distracting him just goes to show how coordinated these two pals can be, and that was great to see. Damn @ Quinella blowing it away though. Seriously though, what was with that Aincrad return of Kirito? No clues whatsoever, any help light novel readers? Quinella revealing some of her honest opinions, moving on, was ruthless. Jeez, she really didn’t hold back. It’s cool how she brought on the topic of Isekai Kirito into this previously, Kirito sure made a bold statement there with the sudden powerup. Kirito, however, using Rath and his possible connection with them to piss her off was just brilliant, “You’re just a God under a button away from non-existence” damn shots fired. Quinella’s Release Collection, supposedly being her secret power to overpower the dark territory, sure didn’t disappoint. A special mention to A-1 just flexing with the animation there with the demonstration of the metal being, it was amazing! Alice and Kirito were taken down in moments like flies soon after. Deja vu much Eugeo? It’s crazy how Quinella was able to control 30 of those sacred swords though, guess she’s the Administrator for a reason. And then there was the subtle return of the Cardinal, what a way to save the day! Little Spider-chan gave her all too despite being relieved of orders but sadly it wasn’t nearly enough to pose any damage. Good thing it gave Eugeo the crucial time to summon the Cardinal though. Final declaration of war again by Cardinal and co there was totally badassery, looking forward to seeing how the battle plays out! |

_MushiRock11_ said: Seriously though, what was with that Aincrad return of Kirito? No clues whatsoever, any help light novel readers? I will put some excerpts from the light novel. It includes skipped monologue in the anime. It is a bit long, but interesting read. It is in 1st person from Kirito's viewpoint. It would be impossible to defeat Chudelkin with sacred arts. There weren’t enough time for the full control art either. The only method left to me was the black sword in my right hand and the techniques I had immersed myself in. During the two years I spent in the Underworld, I had practiced the many sword skills I knew from the past in order to teach Eugeo the «Aincrad style». Through that, I noticed sword skills in this world occasionally demonstrated power far exceeding what they possessed back in the world of SAO. After all, most of the motions that lead to the result are determined not by the system’s control but the user’s willpower, their imagination. The small spider that watched over me for so long, Charlotte, and Knight Alice had called that power, «incarnation». Thus. The power and range of sword skills that were strictly restricted by the system back in the old Aincrad could be amplified through the power of incarnation—probably. But when considering it from the other end, fear, panic, hesitation, and such negative notions will weaken one’s techniques as well. Inside of myself, the desire to dissociate from and to forget who I was in the old SAO days—that avatar given the two names, «The Black Swordsman» and «The Dual Blades»—had spread its roots deep. Even I couldn’t provide an accurate analysis of where that emotion originated from. Though it might be due to the aversion to being treated as a hero, or the guilt over those I failed to save or those who died, it was just as possible those reasons were utterly wrong. However, I could say this for certain. As much as I loathed it, «The Black Swordsman» was definitely a part of myself and gave form to me, granting me power, even now. This skill was one that I had never tried using up until this point, whether it was to teach Eugeo or to simply reproduce. I knew why. This was the sword skill «The Black Swordsman» understood the most, the skill he used the most. You could even say it was symbolic of him. The metallic roar of a jet engine rang out alongside a crimson flash more vivid than flames; the sword lunged straight forth. One-handed straight sword, single hit technique, «Vorpal Strike». The reason for my frequent usage of this skill in the old SAO was its might that allowed it to decide a battle in a single strike and its long range uncommon to one-handed straight swords. The deep crimson light effect would pierce through the air a distance of two blade-lengths away. Its maximum reach, with one’s right arm completely extended, boasted a range that surpassed even long spears at times. However, my target, Chief Elder Chudelkin, was fifteen meters away. The normal Vorpal Strike would never reach. I had to extend the range of this skill that I was unleashing for the first time in the Underworld by over five times through the power of imagination… of incarnation. It wouldn’t be easy. So basically his forced imagination about that particular skill changed his appearence. |

The fight with Chudelkin was pretty short, but I'm not too disappointed with that, since Chudelkin is disgusting and I wanted him to be killed ASAP. Thankfully, Kirito answered my wish as Chudelkin was dealt with in one blow by Kirito's hugely impressive attack. The visuals and animation for the short fight was also great as well. =) It didn't phase Quinella at all and she and Kirito went into a long debate about the world itself. Despite Kirito making many valid points, Quinella just ignored it all and inevitably created her sword golem which proceeded to show its strength by easily taking out Alice and Kirito in one hit. The MVP of the episode, Charlotte the adorable spider, bought Eugeo time so he could summon the door for Cardinal, but in came at the cost of Charlotte's life as well. Her death was a sad moment, but it gave Cardinal the chance to enter the fray, fully heal Alice and Kirito and ready herself to face Quinella again. I doubt this fight will last be short this time, so I'm hoping that Quinella tastes defeat here. Great episode overall. =D |

Thank fuck Chudelkin is finally dead. That aside, it's clear that the fight was supposed to be tense and all, but when Cardinal can just deus-ex machine them back to full health and then stop any momentum to chat with everyone and mourn the spider (seriously, why didn't Quinella actually do anything at this point, other than the usual trope of course?). This could have been a great episode, but Cardinal's appearance completely killed any tension and momentum the episode was building. |

More like a disappointing buildup: the 10 seconds Chudelkin massacre, the conversation between Quinella and Kirito, and the eventual sword golem battle (which for now is not over). Good grief Charlotte, your sacrifice will not be in vain. Action was blazing fast than it appears, and it's only almost the half-way mark. Have the producers gone mad to adapt as fast as they could? |

Man, the dialogue in this is so bad. Everything from Alice questioning the pontifex to her responses. They seemed entirely pointless. All the questions and responses were as generic and predictable as possible. SAO has really dropped the ball with this climax. As always, the author has rushed his series. |

What the fuck was the spider? Does Charlotte the embodiment of deus ex machina actually exist in the source material? I physically threw up my hands in exasperation during that scene. Holy shit. You can tell that the director/author wanted to really demonstrate Pontifex and her golem's strength, but had no idea how to let Kirito, Eugeo, and Alice overcome it. So what do they do? Pull some forgettable, convenient plot device, give it a cute female voice actor, and try to make people feel some sort of sympathy and relief from it saving the trio? Why? |

Chudelkin gone is great. He deserved a more painful death though. He got off way too easy. Also regarding the spider I instantly realised that as an anime viewer we missed out on development of the spider. And I felt sad for how she went down. But I was left wondering. Since Cardinal could fix up both Alice and Kirito. Why could she not fix the spider? Also. Can't wait to see the administrator having her ass handed to her. |

While cardinal is healing them, Quinella is chanting an art that will be used in the next episode. Also, Quinella's goal was to lure cardinal to the fight all along. Cardinal is hiding from Quinella for 200 years because she is not equally matched to Quinella in strength. |

Plus Charlotte was always in Kirito's cloth/hair for over 2 years w'o him noticing her. In the novel there was a whole chapter and story talked to us from Charlotte's point of view, and she was always there. many time she help kirito and eugeo but very minor and secretly. many time she wanted to help them and show herself, but she didn't coz Cardinal order to her was to only observe, that's why before she die, she said "I'm happy that i finally got to fight along you." coz she always wanted to do that before but couldn't. in the anime it also show her a few time, when she told Kirito about how to revive the flowers or she told kirito and eugeo the way to Cardinal's door when they were running away. she was always in Kirito's hair. So no, It's not deus ex machine. |

Cardinal already said these. so no, it was not something asspull or any plotpoint suddenly introduced now to let them get away. it was a plotpoint that was there all along since early in the anime and novel both. |

Why is everyone so quick to believe Chudelkin is dead and the Golem is defeated? Admin isnt even close to fazed towards the end of the episode. Everything is going according to her plan and the fight has only just begun. FFS people just enjoy the episodes and stop crying about unfinished produts. |

Also what happens at the end of ep24 is a huge cliffhanger and would be retarded to end the season as such. |

Too bad, they are no longer in collaboration after episodes 4 and every fights became crappyWelp, that was a boring one, that was just anti-climactic, the fight scenes during the first and second seasons are better, here we are near the end of the season season's first half and I am still not as satisfied with the battles as I would've expected. |

Despite "fights" being way too short, I liked it. Great usage of OST and everything. Though what was that spider? Why was that suddenly relevant? I wonder why they decided to skip all of Kiritos inner monologue. This could drastically improve Alicization. PS: I noticed Quinella is also nude in the OP, I guess she will never put her clothes back on. Not that I would want that. She is a hot psycho, almost a sadist. I really like her. |

The fire golem fight was terrible, the sword golem (what a terrible name) pierced Jesus and his companion's wife, a SPIDER jumped in and (of course) saved Jesus and his disciples in the last moment. Then Deus ex Machina happened and (WHAT A SURPRISE!) the loli appeared through a door, she started a monologue, they were sad because a spider, a fucking SPIDER died and the episode finished with "dramatic" cuts of their faces. Mod Edit: Removed baiting. |

I’ve really loved Quinella's face expressions in this episode! The animation of Kirito's Vorpal Strike skill was great, i loved it. Good episode for me, a lot of characterization for Quinella, not like in the novel, but it’s naturally that an anime adaptation isn’t like a novel, in which an author can argue a lot more, for me. |

Ok just gonna put it out there for anime-only's. That move that Kiritio used to kill Chudelkin was a move from SAO called "Vorpal Strike." This was a move that Kirito (the Black Swordsman) was known for. In the LN, he used this move to kill many members of the Laughing Coffin, and this move might have been more iconic than "Starburst Stream." And of course with the anime not giving Kirito any development at all, it never showed how much the "Kirito" persona from SAO really has haunted Kirito, and how much he despises that persona of his. And showing him using "Vorpal Strike," and donning the "Black Swordsman" outfit once more shows character development, as Kirito has chosen to no accept and move on from his past. _MushiRock11_ said: Chrome_Falcon said: _MushiRock11_ said: Seriously though, what was with that Aincrad return of Kirito? Oh, I see. Thanks for sharing this, it really gives a lot more depth to this whole scene which is honestly a treat. I wonder why the director and producers thought it’s a good idea to just omit all this. Lol they literally omitted all of Eugeo's backstory, which explains his mindset on Love and how he gave into the Administrator so easily. They're skipping a lot of useful stuff. Goddammit, they should have thrown the fight just so that the little jester freak could have his way with Quinella. Guess I'll have to wait for the doujins. |

Are they rushing the fights for some reason? When Swordland (remix version??? Why would do that to the best OST of the series) started to play even I (that have been hating this season since episode 10) got a bit hyped. But then Kirito ends the fight with a single move. Please, I want some strategy here! Some good ol' fighting. Please bring back Gleam Eyes lmao The fact that Kirito got his Aincrad's clothes was cool and all, but CAN YOU GIVE ME STAR BURST STREAM PLEASE. STRATEGY + STAR BURST STREAM THAT'S ALL I ASK FOR. Seriously, dual sword Kirito is best Kirito. Also seeing the worst character ever (aka disguting clown guy) die was satisfying. Can't believe Alice felt sorry for him. I wouldn't. I didn't. Quinella's reasoning felt pretty convincing to me tbh lol Her comparison between the humans that control the Underworld and a "God" that control ours was good. Bye-bye, spider-chan :( Now, the final fight. I wish I could take it seriously, but since Quinella has absolutely no clothes, I doubt I will be able to do so. If she was a guy the author would never make him naked lol It's simply to sexualize a female body as he pleases... *sighs* What to expect anyway. Will Asuna show up at some point in this season? I miss her. |

Wait, why could Kirito and Alice be healed, but not Charlotte? I get that she's different, but surely the spells should work universally on every "living" being in that universe? |

Kirito and Alice were wounded, but Charlotte was dead by the time Cardinal appeared. That is why the spider was shown to be shrinking to its normal size. |
