The anime only touched upon it in EP1 back when Great Sage explained that "reaction speed is enhanced". In the LN it's explained at the beginning that Great Sage has several effects, one of which is called "Thought Acceleration". It's essentially "bullet time" that slows time by a factor of 1000 and there is no real limit to using it. Moreover Great Sage also has the effect of "parallel processing" which enables him to make calculations that don't directly interfere with with consciousness to which the thought acceleration can be applied to as well. Rimuru tested the whole analysis ability of Predator and noticed that Great Sage can speed up the usual analysis speed of Predator by 1000 times by applying both parallel processing and and thought acceleration to it. The result is that thanks to Great Sage, Predator can make an analysis that by it self would take a bit over 15 minutes within a mere single second. This kind of synergy of his Unique Skills is what makes Rimuru so powerful. |

But Rimuru could have won the battle from the start. Why did he wait so long? he could not because the ability of the orc lord consumed Rimuru at the same time so he had to dissuade him to try to absorb it since predator has a success ratio that was not specified in the anime |

| Episode that I liked, because in a few minutes he managed to give the character of Gerd, that thickness and that dignity also, which had been missing until then, thus making him not a mere character to forget, but a point from which almost to leave in history. The final part of the narration is really intense. Instead I did not like the fight, always in line with the narrative structure seen so far. |

| Amazing episode. The animation during the battle looked nice and the OST was on point as well. Geld's backstory was interesting to see. It really gave more depth to his character and being honest, I couldn't help but feel a bit of sympathy towards him and the situation his people were dealing with. But at least, I'm glad he finally could reach peace in the end. All in all, nice episode and great first half. I really enjoyed it episode by episode. I just hope the second cour to be, if not the same, even better than this one. |
| They could easily have ended the anime here. It felt like a finale. On to the next arc. |
| I wish the fight was a bit longer, but it was cool nevertheless. The auto-battle came out of nowhere, but it was quite fun, though I prefer if he just fights himself. I didn't expect to see a sad backstory here. I wonder if the orcs will now join them as well, seeing how they'll probably be good guys now. |

| Kinda figured he'd just eat him bc Veldora is stronger (by my assumption) and he got eaten, so Rimuru can def store the Orc Demon Lord lol. Another sad story tho :( at least he was a good King before he got corrupted. I'm glad he found his peace as well. Also happy that the Kijins decided to stay!!!!! TTuTT I really didn't wanna get over them if they left LOLOL |

| Effects and music were awesome. This fight was tough. Geld was not that evil as he seemed to be, it's just that Demon Lord's actions that made him and other orcs extremely hostile. I hope these orcs will find peaceful and rich in food land. Rimuru is overpowered, lol. He can defeat anyone by using "Predator" skill if his enemy doesn't have anything to counter it. |

| I'm a bit sad. I had hoped they would show at least a bit of Rimuru's stronger skills (while fighting as himself, not Great Sage). The fight was a bit boring like that because the only move he really did was using Predator. ;( |
| god DAMN this anime is quality. Anime actually has some nutty character development, the ending scene with Geld got me real good in the heart, you know this anime is good when you start tearing up for the antagonist :c my guy just wanted to save his people from starvation and did what he thought was right out of desperation. rest in peace king. Great sage cannot be legal i swear, it can turn on a fucking auto kill function? this has to be the closest thing to "irl cheats" you could find in this world, and it scares me that others out there probably have it as well. But great sage really does try her best all the time :c imma be honest, great sage is definitely on the waifu tier list for the series don't @ me. real happy the Kaiji are staying! honestly love all of them and glad they'll become part of the family. However i'm sure the death of a demon lord and an all out war will definitely catch the attention of good, bad and extremely fucking bad to Rimuru. Shit is definitely gonna get spicy after this. |

| All episodes thus far have been really good, some bangers, but this was tops them all along with Shizue's. The show really has some awesome songs, and that the final scenes were indeed very beautiful, I want to give praise to that segment with him in slime form devouring the Orc Lord, when he was glowing also with the sun dawn shining on him that was really some phenomenal animation, a highlight of this season I definitely will recall when looking back |

| That fight against the Orc Lord was really good imo, despite the outcome being obvious. He put up quite a fight, especially against the ogre gaing, but Rimuru is just on another level. It was also quite obvious that the ogres would stay, but I was still kinda happy, I like all of them. |

| The one who devoured all defeated a starving one. Its Rimuru. No need saiyan mode from Daikenja, that surprisingly cranky. Rimuru just needed predator, and everything solved fuckin easily. Good job for uniting all of the forest typical monsters under your one flag, Tempest, Rimuru-sama. No shit. Rip to the Orc Disaster, Gerudo, and his past as a kind orc king. Its a decent justification. What about Germundo? Nah. He just a joke that designed as a plot device to awakened the real power of Gerudo. Then, later, became a great awakening, to the one and only god at that world, a talking slime! Its time for the demon arc, shall you, slime? Ah, not yet, its to the human first! |

| Great ending to the 2nd arc. They actually gave a backstory to Geld. I thought he'll just be a random orc lord without a brain who will die in the end, but seems like I was wrong. Also ofc they had to show Shizue at the ending song :( |

| That was a great end to the first half of the show, the Orc Lord did what he had to do, but now he has to pay for his sins and leave it all to Rimuru. Rimuru is the superior devourer. They really had to make Shizue the first person we see in the ED :(. I am looking forward to watching what happens next. |

| This fight didn't really do much for me, but at least the music I felt was well used and was nice to listen to during the fight as well. At least this first half is now over and the ogre crew have properly joined Rimuru of course, no longer a temporary alliance. Everyone joins him in this series with too much ease, but at least with these guys, there was some time to see what kind of character Rimuru was and how powerful/helpful he is, so they were able to judge him well enough I guess. New ED isn't anywhere near as good as the original TRUE ED for me. I miss that one already. |

| Nice way to end this arc. Geld was fooled by Gelmud and did what he had to do. At least in the end Rimuru was able to give him a peaceful rest. The fight wasn't bad, especially Rimuru's black flame sword looked amazing and reminds a bit on Amaterasu from Naruto. Also surprising that the Great Sage is able to take over Rimuru's body. Ironically that the one who wants to devour everything gets eaten. I'm glad Benimaru, Shion and the rest of the Kijin want to stay with Rimuru. Already excited for the second half. There will surely be a lot of characters we could see from the OP. |

| This was one awesome arc. Rimuru's gotten pretty strong now. And I guess he's just gonna get more powerful. Looking forward to the next arc!!! |
 Uh...You and everyone else were just standing there the whole time Geld was feasting. I mean, I understand that cannibalism and whatnot is horrific to witness, but could you all not, well, do something about it? |
| I was not expecting to see Rimuru go into "auto-mode" with the Great Sage controlling the fight but at the end Rimuru took over and devoured Geld. Also, I'm glad that Gelmud got "taken care of" and on that note I wonder how Gabiru will atone for the coup he led. |
| Rimuru sure is op as freak but other than that the first half of this season so far has been great from the start. |
