| It didnt take long before her could hear the running of feet around him. Clammering in the shoadows beyond his eyes ability to percieve. The ghouls were definitely here. And they definitely knew you were here as well. Your options now were very limited. What would the great Verel do. And what would these creatures do in response. |

| Verel Verel heard the Ghouls and kept his sword sheathed, but unhooked it from his belt, resting it against his shoulder while maintaining a firm grip on the handle. He anticipated attacks from both the back and above him, and bent his knees slightly in preparation to dodge. “I am not here to fight, but I know that I don’t intend to be eaten either. I wish to make you a proposal, one which brings much more food than a single extraterrestrial such as myself.” |
| The sounds of feet against stone quickly stopped. Sadly though, the shape of the cave distorted the sound to much to tell where they actually were. But that didnt matter. Because after you had stopped moving, and stopped talking, and took a moment to wait for a response, you felt a massive surge of pain in your shoulder. As two rows of sharp, jagged teeth took a massive chunk directly out of your arm. But this seemed to be planned, because they took out the arm that was gripping your blade. That single bite, nearly reached the bone. The mext attack came in brief succession, as you felt the blunt force of an elbow hit you in the back of the neck. Your suffering was short lived however, as the last thing you felt was a bite out of your spine and neck. It took a moment before your consciousness faded to black, amd you woke up at the pylon in Karn City. Verel has died. He respawned in Karn. As you revived, you notice that your body seems to be a little harder to move. (When you rp at the pylon, make sure you dont leave it in a single post. You should go through the medical exam to learn wht debuff you had applied to you.)) |

Marcus “Adian” Fore @Darth_Lewdious Adain would have his map of the area attempting to navigate to the proper location. the only problem being for some reason Adain had a terrible sense of direction more then once he had started circling around a single tree as the map for some reason had been rotating. once a few navigation glitches were sorted out Adain would processed to try to cover the harsh terrain. his movements weren't particularly stealthy but he did have a watch looking around multi tasking from navigating with his map to looking around for threats. the closer he got to the target the more he would slow down for safety until he found the location of his target so he could observe first before rushing in. |
| As he approached the forest, he would see the area is encased in a massive dome of giant thorns. He would see a multitude of man-sized holes in the thorn-walls for entry and exit. It was dark on the inside, save for glowing wisps that drift around the fores, keeping it pretty well lit. the whole place was coated in thorns. Trees, the ground, rocks. You found yourself approaching an old mausoleum in the middle of nowhere. You could hear them inside. Three, four, maybe even five of them. |

Marcus “Adian” Fore @Darth_Lewdious Adain would be confused at the sight not thinking this was normal. that would prompt him to real the alert he had received before he left that the area's were encased in thorn domes. this could be problematic however no signs of danger so far, proceed with mission. avoiding the throwns as best he could as he got sign on the target a mausoleum in the middle of the forest. it stood to reason this was likely a place un-dead would gather or emerge from inside he could hear the activity. the problem currently was he had no scope of what a defiler was or its combat abilities. facing 5 at once would be foolish. scanning the area for narrow pathways through trees he could easily take he woudl be gin setting a series of tripping hazards. most likely creating them by using my sturdy looking thorny vines and tying them around shin height between two adjacent trees. he would then begin to bang his spear against rock to attempt to gather their attention thinking they would fall for a similar trick as skeletons. |
| The first signs of movement werent a charge or a screech. But a single, boney hand that reached out from the dark crypt. It gripped the door with its loose flesh as it departed from the crypt. Behind it, two sets of two small glowing blue dots, likely the eyes of the other defilers. But there was definitely at least one more in there you couldnt see as they all came into the pale light. These bodies had been dead for a very long time. The skin was wrapped tightly on their bones. Their hair was brittle and jagged. Their claws and teeth yellowed to a near golden finish. A long boney tail swishing behind them. They encroached closer, the other two, becoming to look identical to the first. The third had a ruby in its left eye socket. A fourth was definitely in there. The three for now were looking around, searching for the source of the noise, until one of them got a lock on you. It progressed forward until the thorns of course stopped it and caused it to fall over. Its weight pulled down the thorns. It began to get back up. |

Marcus “Adian” Fore @Darth_Lewdious Watching the creatures movements assessing their size and weight roughly to try and guess at a max speed. Adain tilted his head as he observed their rather nasty forms not being human this was more strange then repulsing or horrifying to him. three targets confirmed one reserve move to plan Delta. as he readied his plan waiting for the first to approach to get caught in the trap he woudl quickly move in to begin a powerful thrust down length of the defilers body. plunging his spear through the head and attempting to push it ad deep as he could with a single thrust. after observe the effects of that thrust Adain would pull his spear back and either continue stabbing until he had to jump away from a counter attack. or if stabs proved not very effective he would attempt large cleaving swings with his spear to sever the limbs before moving back. |
| Your sudden drastic movement caught the others ear as you plunged your spear towards the defilers face. it opened its mouth to scream as it countered, but instead the spear went down its throat, hit numerous brittle bones on the way down, and even pierced through its arced back. The corpse didnt appear to care about those parts of its body. it grabbed the shaft of the spear just before your hands position. It tried to pull itself forward. And now there were the other two approaching, and the trap was down. |

Marcus “Adian” Fore @Darth_Lewdious Raising his foot pressing it on the forearm of the defilers hand clutching the spear. Adain would press his foot firmly as his grip tightened pulling with all his might to quickly remove the spear from the defilers body. If he was successful in removing it he would back off keeping the defiler just in range of his spear. once the distance was created he'd start leading the defilers towards the other tripwires he had set up. while unleashing long fast cleaving swings trying to sever the arms of the defiler he had stabbed. target does not register any damage. move to back up plan sever all limbs. |
| The Defiler wasnt exactly as strong physically as you might think. In your efforts to remove the spear, you actually used more force than necessary and almost lost your balance. They might hit hard but their flesh gives in quickly. The defiler got up and began following you, with the first two just behind it. They actually began to sprint, getting stunned when they met your spear. You had cut off both of its arms, with not but a shriek in response. it wasnt to concerned with that part of its body it seems. At least the arms stopped twitching at least. It fell over when it reached the next wire, and the wire stayed in tact. The second and third one brought that one down when they hit it at once. |

Marcus “Adian” Fore @Darth_Lewdious after regaining his balance creating distance as he moved away from the approaching group. he would walk over his trip wire letting it impair their movements as he raised his spear reading it for more large cleaving swings. he would keep them at the best range he could as he aimed the swings at their heads to try and cut them off. at this pint it was all he could hope that removing the head would kill them. if this also did not prove effective he would not be sure what he could do to kill them. |
| And bingo, your swipe did it, by severing the head, the body just stopped in its tracks and ragdolled. The jaw was still moving though, it made no sound. Apparently all this thing needs to survive is a direct line to the brain. Once cut, the creature collapsed like a string-less marionette. Following this, you would sever the heads of the other three. ((+30 XP)). Setting out to harvest their Saliva now would yield four vials worth of the vile liquid. best to store that somewhere safe. |

Marcus “Adian” Fore @Darth_Lewdious Adain would look down at the three headless corpses motionless aside from the heads it left him rather puzzled. picking up one of the heads being sure it couldn't' bite him to exact the saliva he would get some of it on his body and be completely unaffected. he had heard this was terrible to get in contact with but it had done nothing to him at that point something occurred to him. necrotic substance, no skin no organics no necrosis. perhaps some others will need this equipment. as he scooped up the purest samples he could he would throw the heads to the ground making sure to smash them beyond any form of living like a ripe pumpkin. once that was complete he would go ahead to investigate the mausoleum trying to see if it had any importance or anything of value or note. perhaps i should also report this area as cleared, with that he would attempt to send a short transmission to the index foundation telling them the area was cleared of 4 defilers. |
| The IAHD would follow up on his message to Index Requesting Photographic evidence of his location, and of the kills. Once provided, 150 Lumin would be deposited into his account ((30 Fame)). Once inside the mausoleum, he would find a body shackled to the wall. He may be surprised to find that the body didnt even ook like it was decomposing. It was perfectly normal in shape, though, moss was growing up its legs. And on inspection, it was indeed moss. It looked human, but its skin didnt feel like skin. It was cold, smooth, and hard. |

Marcus “Adian” Fore @Darth_Lewdious Adain would look around ensuring that nothing of interest was in this location. as he got the request to supply more information he woudl absolutely do some showing pictures of the entire inside and out side location. once that was done and his reward transferred he would examine the body closer and he indeed would be rather puzzled. running his hand along the body he would check to see if the surface felt non organic or metallic.if he couldn't tell just by feel he would slowly become more invasive with his testing even to attempt a small cut in the surface of the skin to see if his blade could A Cut the material and B what the material and inside of the body looked like. chained up but not decomposing, possible non-organic life form, and automation. why here why so old, and why chained. risk to remove chains at this time to great if unwanted activation occurs. with that Adain would also try to slowly pry open its eyes to see what they looked like he was truly puzzled and curious as to everything he could learn about this body. |
| As you ran your fingers across the surface, you might notice a bit of scratching on your fingertips. The scratch would reveal something interesting. This wasnt just not skin. It was some kinda stone. It had the consistency of reinforced concrete. You didnt exactly cut it with the force applied, but you scraped the surface, creating a little dust. Looking up, about to try and open its eyes, you may find its eyes were already open. Motionless, but open. They looked like real eyes. But one difference was obvious. While extremely realistic, its eyes were two dimensional. The Iris, pupil, and sclera are colored onto the shape of the eye. it looks expertly done. And the only way it would be obvious is because of how perfectly round the stone base is. Regardless, the eyes look just as alive as a regular persons eyes. The iris was green. And not some discolored jade green, it was a rich, emerald green with very dilated pupil, with blue sclera. It didnt say anything, and stared at you. You can be pretty certain its eyes werent open before. You would have certainly noticed eyes like those. No matter how still it is. Its literally doing nothing. |

Marcus “Adian” Fore @Darth_Lewdious After his initial poking and prodding he would begin thinking about what this could be and where it could be from. though noticing the eyes now watching him he'd reel back slightly taking a step away. oh, i see it appears you are active. you could have alerted me before i may have caused you any discomfort. can you communicate? and if so why are you locked here? how long have you been here? as he began asking questions he would search for signs of aggression if there was any sign of a aggression he WOULD NOT RELEASE them. if they were unable to communicate or where pleasantly communicating without any sign of aggression Adain would move to break them free in the easiest possible way. |
| "I was sleeping..." Its voice came out perfectly fine and clear. Sounded a bit gruff, but no more than you might expect an old war veteran to sound. The creepy part was that his lips didnt move. At all. None of it moved as it spoke. it wasnt until it moved you realized it wasnt really bound. The shackles bound to the wall began to absorb into the being. Eventually becoming flush with its wrists, and even changing color to the things skin tone. It seemed to have trouble standing upright for a moment. "I am stiff." It stretched its shoulders, arms, and legs one by one. And by stretch, i mean it literally. Its arms quadrupled in length until you could hear the stone groaning from stress, and then it snapped back to its regular size. Its back began arcing until it had damn nearly formed a circle. Then back to its original position. After its contortion, it looked back at you. It can do color really well, and it has control over finer movements. it must not be trying very hard to mimic facial expressions. "If you are asleep, do you know if someone has found your body?" |

Marcus “Adian” Fore @Darth_Lewdious slightly confused his questions weren't answered Adian would think back to the two recent memories of him going inactive. in a way yes, i can know time has passed and feel what has been done after the fact, but no you are correct for the most part it is a blank where i cannot respond to any outside forces. after saying that he would slightly lower his weapon away from him to show he didn't intend to attack. i have interrupted your rest at this moment but i do not understand why you are here or what you are. is it a problem i killed those defilers who inhabited this structure? |
| "You know why I didnt 'inform' you before hand then." He began to walk out of the crypt, and you followed since it didnt seem to mind your presence. It stopped to look at the Defilers. "I am a Gargoyle. And I was sleeping. I didnt mean to be asleep so long. Lichens have taken to my stone. Do you have a steel blade I may use to shave them off? Ill sharpen them in return." At your mention of the defilers, it tilted its head, and nonchalantly brushed it off. "Saves me the trouble of killing them myself. The dead usually gather around me when I sleep for too long. I dislike their blood on my stone. Takes a year to get off properly." The gargoyle walks back to the building, and punched a few bricks out of the wall. His fist turned to a single stone ball. The ball split open so he could fit bricks inside it. He pulverized the bricks in his hand, and for all you could tell, ingested them from his arm. Then he pointed his other hand at the wall, and two whiter than his own stone-color pellets shot from his hand and shattered like chalk against the brick. "Your hands are not stone or flesh. Are you made an Automaton?" |

Marcus “Adian” Fore @Darth_Lewdious Adiin would follow him seemingly interested in the gargoyle keeping a respectable distance. i have only this single blade, i do very much wish not to part with it but to apologize for my actions you may use it. with that being said Adian raised his spear hand extending the blade and pole into the reach of the gargoyle so that he could comfortably grab it to use it. though a spear was hardly the best tool to use for the job its blade was sharp and large enough however the long handle would make it rather unwieldy and awkward to use. good that their termination does not bother you, i am attempting to accomplish a mission to collect their saliva, for some sort of cure or treatment. do you know the location of others or could you attract more? after watching the display of his abilities Adain would answer the question posed i am unsure completely of my nature but yes that designation has been given to me, by the index foundation. you are also correct i am neither stone nor fresh what i am exactly has been described as a mystery. my creator, age, purpose, function, and abilities, are all unknown, what little i do know are sadly just fragments knowledge, regarding fudge and the Dave. |
| "Then I have an alternative." As you extended the spear, instead of grabbing, the stone liquified, and swallowed up the speartip. Then it turned solid, and split in half letting the spear go unscratched. You could see that the Gargoyle had made a cast around the spear. "This should work." It fit each finger inside of the mold it made, and then pulled out fingers shaped like speartips. Which were just as sharp as your blade. It carefully used them to scrape at the moss, until his legs were just green with juiced chlorophyll. "It will do, At least the lichens are dead. I cannot attract more. They just naturally are drawn to living things. But since they dont see me as a living thing when they get close, they just linger around looking for the living thing. Last I knew, there were defilers at Vernal's Sanctuary, but it has been a long time judging by the lichen." |

Marcus “Adian” Fore @Darth_Lewdious Taking back his weapon adian was happy this meant he wouldn't have to give it away for any meaningful measure of time. who is this vernal where is his or hers or their sanctuary? what is a sanctuary. One moment after going silent for merely a few moments Adain would respond with an ah face. i see sanctuary refers to unexplained pockets of space, home to extreme oddities as well as numerous dangers according to records. though only that description is vaguely defined with no locations or reference to any specific location or incidents strange. after ending his questions with more of a statement still wanting an answer as to the exact sanctuary the gargoyle was speaking of genuinely curious about it. i agree it does seem you have been inactive quite some time. this is troublesome to a point though you seem to be operating just fine, should you need my assistance with anything do ask my current mission is not specifically on a tight time frame though i should accomplish it as soon as possible. |
| I believe our definitions of 'sanctuary' are very different. Vernal is a Gargoyle. He lives in a temple in the thicker parts of the forest. Thats his Sanctuary. The Gargoyle walked towards the structure again and began to eat more bricks. The moss had broken down some of his rock, and now he needed to replenish mass. Continued shooting out the white chalky pellets that turned to powder quickly. Damned bricks arent very good for it. While eating the rocks with his hands, he thought for a moment about your offer. "Actually, what is the date? Lichen doesnt grow overnight. Actually, the year while you are at it." After recieving the date, the Gargoyle thought. "I see. maybe I should follow you for the time being. This thing above the forest certainly wasnt here when I went to sleep so I must wonder what else has changed. |

Marcus “Adian” Fore @Darth_Lewdious as his interpretation was meet with confusion Adain would be confused by the confusion staring blankly blinking a few times.ahh, i see perhaps i have searched the wrong data, will note that. Adain supplied the current time as he understood it from Index references though for some reason that time scale bothered him, like something was missing or just wrong. he couldn't quite put his finger onto why one of the many things that gnawed at the back of his consciousness. oh yes the dome that is very recent no more then a few days the alert was issued. a mission for knowledge on this will no doubt be made soon, as well as rewards for such knowledge before then however for the time being if you do not know the location of more defilers. i shall be forced to relocate to a place known as Dakton, i assume you are not familiar with the area but are you willing to follow me to a possibly dangerous area?. Adain didn't really care about the answer to if he would follow to a dangerous area. If he was fine with it great it woudl be a great help and advantage to completing the mission. if he would not however Adain would give the Gargoyle any information he wanted or needed for getting to a place of import. once the Gargoyle decided to join Adain or go their separate ways Adain would start searching the area for defilers as he worked his way towards Dakton. |
| The Gargoyle seemed surprised. Only a few days? He appeared to begin dozing, but what he was trying to do is sense the residual magic. Something of this scale had to leave a pretty big trace. "It feels... Druidic. I would wager the Leshen are responsible for it then. He looked around at different trees, and the thorns that cover them. "It most certainly looks like their work..." After a moment of listening to your plan, the gargoyle nodded. "Defilers in Dakton? Im almost curious as to how that came to be. I suppose I will come with you. I have no immediate goal at the moment. Perhaps some excellent rocks could be found along the way." He followed Adian to Dakton |
