Dear fellow once you have trap set, you are the master of the direction of how to set the trap. Lures don't have be food, it can also be as simple as a chase by provocation.

You also underestimate aggression, once a beast is provoked it will inevitably chase the provocateur towards any path.

"Unrealistic, my dear fellow, not at all. Cavemen do not come out caves to throw spears at large dinosaurs without adhering to the best practice of their safety. They would try to gain anything to their advantage like using natural resources at their disposal such as tar-pits and sand-traps.

As for how long they have been there, the timeline is more like a few weeks, I will hazard that guess. They know too much for a day or two stragglers rather they have been accustomed to the world for weeks to gain their garments and weapons and know well of the shop and the form of currency used in this world.

In parting dear fellow, you and I will agree about them being not the brightest bulb in laboratory fully lighted. I bid you adieu.
You need to understand that everything you stated in this thread were unrealistic. Yes, traps would make things far easier to them, but do they even know what a trap is? The problem is you seem to forget that they all have a severe case of amnesia. They don't seem to remember anything but their name & language. So, how are they going to make something that they don't even know?

Humans are smart. That is true, but even then we always need some sort of inspiration to create something new. The Archimedes' Principle was discovered because a certain Greek mathematician witness how water spilled from his bathtub as he's entering it. The Law of Gravity was discovered because Newton saw an apple fell when he's resting under the tree. etc. See? Even the brightest bulbs in the lab need some kind of inspiration to invent something.

TL;DR. They can only make traps after they learned it from some expert or they came across something that inspired them. For example, someone got his/her leg stuck in a rabbit hole & then one of the others got the idea to make a trap hole. Or maybe someone got entangled in vines & was inspired to use ropes to make a trap.

I had no idea what to expect going into this but fell in love after that first fight scene. Love the character designs, coloring, and animation! What a joy to watch :)

Around the middle of the episode I was getting serious .hack / Sword Art Online / Log Horizon vibes (like everyone else) but I'm okay with it so far. It's different enough to keep me interested. I look forward to seeing more of this world.

i really pray for this show to make it to the top , naruto and fairy tail suck but it has alot of episodes , one piece and hunter x hunter even dbz is better and has lots of episodes , i think if it takes it slow and has amazing character development instead of focusing around one player this show has the potential ... i want to grow old with this show

Pretty relaxing, but I feel that the animation quality is really bad for the simple things (steady conversations, for example). On the other hand, the animation quality for combat seems typical. We didn't really get to see anything special without forcing anything, which I actually enjoy.

Definitely something new here, with the memory loss and such. The only thing I wish they talked about is if they didn't join the Volunteer Squad; feels like everyone had no choice whatsoever (not like they had one anyways).

I thought I'd be the only one to care about the nice backgrounds; I was so wrong. I'm kinda eh about this. I was going to pretend I never watched it, but I'm going on to episode two, so I guess I'm sticking around for the ride.;;

Don't demean stuff like boobtalk.. All that stuff exists for adding humanity to the story; making them more natural, human, and relatable. Even if it doesn't develop character, it develops bonds between characters, and between the watcher and the characters. The purpose is Humanity.
Except who (offline) talks about the boobs of some girls they hardly know right in their face unless they're a socially awkward person or a straight up pervert that no one will want to deal with from that point on? In my opinion, it took away humanity more than anything and made it painfully clear that these are a bunch of anime characters that we probably won't be able to relate to.
I understand what you mean; allowing time to have characters show who they are, how they feel, and what they're all about in little scenes like those helps us connect, but that's the wrong way to do it-- or the wrong topic to do it with unless he really is supposed to be the character that no one except one or two people in the cast will like. Otherwise, my instant thought was, "This is clearly an anime or else that wouldn't fly as well as it did just then".

Straight up, I felt more of a connection to the goblins because they're just doing normal human stuff; actions sometimes speak louder than words.
BUT with all that being said, I'm not exactly raging about boobtalk or dismissing the anime or the scene because of it. No biggie.

Instead of white garcher, we watch a leftover noob party get pwned by two goblins. Of the game ish shows, I guess it's somewhat unique from a weak impoverished team's pov.
Beautiful watercolor & line work. Slow "real life" pacing & dialogue. I like how it's not rushing a serious survival drama, but keeping a realistic atmosphere, noob weakness & mistakes even if funny. World building, money usage, previous life memories, amnesia, weird fauna, guild/class etc. "People die when they are killed" instead of respawn.
Thief? Odd first choice for a guild.
Char designs quite nice & fits the lovely bg. The girls lots of funny poses. Red hunter's noob level is fail level lol. Red boy really weird.
Animation's great. Attention to detail in animating the minor daily life motions usually only found in film/ghibli. Some perspective forward shots, swinging legs, cutting radish, Haru fitting cape on, weapons practice etc.
So they can't choose chef, merchant, blacksmith etc non combat classes?

As far as I know, I'm not an autist.

Anyway, my culture would be the United States. From what I know of Japan, that's not something that would fly too well either though. If it's common in your area for acquaintances to go on about the boobs of a girl they just met in a setting that wasn't meant to be sexual, then I can't help whether that scene comes off as odd or not to you then. I can definitely see if this was among friends, but these characters just met. For this particular setting though, it seems like it was pretty inappropriate, and one thing I can say is that it did seem to make some of the characters uncomfortable, which is indeed realistic... but most seemed to be uncomfortable about it for a different reason than usual which is why the scene throws me off.

I'm kinda surprised you chopped the scene up to the goblins just sitting there since this is along the lines of the type of thing you said not to demean. The Goblins were exhibiting human-like mannerisms such as raising their glasses, carrying on what seemed like a normal conversation, laughing merrily after one of them seemed to say something funny. It all came off as natural; a usual human-like scene. We didn't get to know what they were saying, but all you really need to do is see their reactions; the reactions grant humanity. Heck, all we know, they could have been having the same boob talk, but the reactions are what changes the scene. And that's compared to boob talk in which the characters are talking about such a subject while doing unnatural poses. You don't actually need words to connect to a character; it's often their actions that say more about a character than anything. I'm not sure if you've seen episode two (this isn't exactly a spoiler), but it's pretty clear that they attempted to give humanity to the goblins-- and at least for me, they successfully did.

Though I do want to note, I feel they made the characters more human-like as well in episode two, and they mostly did it through showing their raw, natural, and human-like reactions.
Hope that clears up a little.;;

Who's to say they just met? They may have all been friends before the amnesia. PS: there's several pop culture subcategories, one people are familiar with is "gyaru" <= aka fashionable sluttiness. In official context, and if you're in an uptight neighbourhood or a respectable school then not so much, but elsewhere pseudo-harassment is fairly common: playboy types and those who just got no filter. There's plenty of "dirty" subculture in japan. (it's a pretty good assumption most people on this site are north american, where the culture both expects excess amounts of sex, and yet hypocritically considers the topic taboo often. japanese casual and media cultures don't find sexuality a taboo subject, just embarrassing to the pure hearted. remember japan still has red-light districts.)

Ah dang yeah, i must have been mixing up with my episode posts, where i talked about the boob-talk humanity. It was more about the casual conversation, teasing eachother and so on naturally, rather than taking turns like a screenplay... Yes they were pretty humanly depicted in scenes, but they weren't demeaned exactly. They had some human-like behaviours, but they were pretty low life up to no good kinda attitude: probably up to stuff like pillaging and so on.

Thanks for not blowing up at that autist statement, it wasn't meant to be derogatory, just curiosity. I see what you mean by the statement now... Unusually airheaded of me.

So another SAO? Doesn't look as bad however. And the art is beautiful.

The tower scene was very Battle Royale.

Pretty sure Bri wants to bang the white-haired dude. Most interesting character so far, but seems a bit insecure and like a control freak. Also a dominatrix. That comment about people becoming his pet was unsettling.

Aww how can they kill the goblins when they're smart enough to make a campfire?

I sure wouldn't, but it appears the white-hired guy gathered up strong guys and went to his office. Makes sense though, as they both seemed razor sharp.

The fan-service is annoying. Jerk irritating redhead guy talking about an insecure girl's boobs in front of her, all the body shots, the way too overly-friendly friend trope, and the redhead guy ogling them. The teacher was a fan-service version of Hanji from SnK.

The big guy with the sword is totally a nod to Guts. Can see the character archetypes in all of them tho. :/

First scene filled with action scene is nice, but it got boring till the end.

Will keep watching.

But the first episode was quite dull and uninspired. People assumed that this episode focused on 'world building', but to me it seemed like a collection of uninteresting events.

The characters were introduced quite poorly and all of them seem very 'cookie - cutter like' to me. I also quite disliked one supporting character who seems to have the special ability of 'figuring out the size of boobs'. Way to weigh this episode down even further, what a waste of time that could have been spent developing the story.

The fan service was minimal for today's standards, but this show could do a lot better if they completely cut that out.

However I will give praise to its breathtakingly refreshing art style and its beautiful original soundtrack.

Overall, the first episode of an anime is supposed to engage the viewer into the world of an anime series, however this show does not do that, rather it introduced it in the most boring way possible that it made it a chore to actually finish the episode.

Hopefully it picks up in the future, but as for now, not impressed at all.

This is very different, doesn't feel like some crap rushed ass adaption of a novel. Amazing art and nice animation. Pacing may put people off but its good.

Much more realistic take on the fantasy rpg turned real life world thing and isn't full of stupendous comedy and insane fan service. I just love the whole vibe and the fact that they forgotten the old world and who they used to be is pretty cool.

I hope it picks up though and actual stuff happens with the story, don't mind if it ain't much action, mostly interested in the story.

Maybe they're having a hard time to earn money because they spend their time talking about boobs? Overall i didn't like it, and i think it's way far from a very good start.

Superb boobs.
Great art.
Good animation.
Awful dialogue, pace, fanservice.

Loving the art, the character designs are easy on the eyes and the backgrounds are reminiscent of a storybook. The atmosphere is relaxing and captivating, albeit this isn't even remotely what I was expecting. There's a certain charm to it though, a noticeable amount of detail to the worldbuilding and how characters word things. Ranta is pure gold, his seiyuu is known for the troll/fun characters and he's bringing that out nonstop. "This is getting good. Keep going!" My sentiments exactly.

Freaking glorious. It's not suuuuper-super-tense like Erased, but that's part of its charm.
Loving Ranta, btw, who I'm personally calling Hallelujah because guess who his voice actor is? You can hear it in every word he says, too- those slurs! That cocky, gloriously magnificent rotten attitude! And even his perviness!! It's all the sort of stuff I'd expect from Hallelujah (the comforting afterwards was more Allelujah, tho).
But leaving aside other (mostly) unrelated anime, I liked this premiere quite a bit. Waited 5 episodes to see what the general opinion of the show was, and since it seems to be going up now's as good a time as any to finally get around to watching it.
EDIT: Also, while I didn't hate it I would appreciate a /little/ toning down on the weird pervy interplay here. Hallelujah-Sword-Guy is fine in small doses, and his rapport with Cat-Eyes MC is fun, but these female characters are... unencouraging. Bandit lady seems like a straight-out fantasy-fulfiller, and the two girls from the main party had way too many boob-shots and ass-shots.

So, I heard that the voice acting in the sub isn't all that good so I decided to give the first episode a shot in dub, something I rarely do. I can see what people are saying about dubs rarely being bad anymore. I actually made it through the episode without cringing unlike some older dubs (Date A Live and Okami-San and Her Seven Companions). I'll continue watching when more of the series is dubbed. Brittany's English voice is great. While I'm on the topic of sound, the music was really nice.

This was an enjoyable first episode. I rarely watch fantasy anime but this one has grabbed my attention. The art style is very nice too and the characters are actually quite likable. I think my favourite character so far is the red head guy.

This was nice.

Overall, I enjoyed this quite a bit, it was a really feel good episode.

The start looked pretty good, though I didn't like some characters from their first appearance.

But that start was the only action scene on the episode, and the rest was slow monologes and talks that cemented my dislike on all characters... by the way, more than 3 minutes of those were for talking about breast size... time worse than wasted in that part...

The only positives are the general idea and some of the details of the world they put in.

Hmm... that is actually a pretty bad episode 1, it doesn't really catch viewers' curiosity or anything.

So a trapped in a game anime... like KonoSuba... especially the MC have the steal skill.

I think they have too many characters to introduce. Which is why this episode 1 was kind of introductory-heavy.

Hmm, interesting take on what would happen if young teenagers appeared in alternative world with their memory erased. We didn't learn much about this "game" world but at least we got some fantasy slice-of-life (it's obvious they are from modern world and totally not used to adventuring or being in danger so it's no surprise they are bad at fighting and unwilling to take risks).

And now I have to say I'm more interested in how their relations to each other develops than how this world works.

The opening fight scene got me hooked but then it kind of dropped the ball. The relaxed pace reminded me of Overlord and made me feel like I was watching an SoL rather than an MMO anime. It was nice, but more excitement would help.

Other thoughts:
- The dark knight guy is a punk. I traditionally imagine dark knights as silent and foreboding, as if they are bearing heavy sins (see: Cecil Harvey).
- Much of the episode felt like it was indirectly fourth wall breaking with the way it included and addressed MMORPG standards.
- The girls are obvious waifubait.

Generic premise and execution thus far. I can already tell this is gonna be annoying to watch because of those 2 girls that don't belong to this type of show. When will Japan learn to not sexualize every single anime female character they create?

I bet each of them is a social outcast and have their own difficulty in real life, being transported here to better themselves or something.

I really like this show. I must say its somewhat obvious where the kids have hailed form, but as to where they have arrived ( an actual magical world/ dimension or a simulated world) its done well. No jumping the gun from level 1 to 100 just like that or overly tried and boisterously obnoxious political crap like a certain recent mmo genre anime show of the last year, which shall not be named due to its crappiness. As a former .Hack fan from when that show was new, as well as picking up girls in dungeon anime show fan , this is so far being done perfectly well and I hope it continues that way.

I was mostly turned off by that oppai speech, how unnatural are the others' reaction to ranta's rants. Do you really think it is realistic to comment on girls' assets in front of strangers without any real consequences? I know it is meant to lead into fanservice scenes, i just don't like how it's pulled. there is no correlation whatsoever between yume's lack of archery skill with her oppai size, even if i try to turn off logic it still leaves a bad taste. I may try few episodes before laying my final verdict though, just because the art is good especially how the characters motions drawn fluidly

This seems like Konosuba trying to take itself seriously lol. Setting over game world and characters being weak is starting to feel played out..... Art is decent but the female character design is on point. Hopefully story gets better.

The art style looks neat, I like it. The music if soft and calming, the shots are good and the storytelling so far seems adequate. The characters are charming, well, most of them.
Plot wise I expect not much. I mean, I'm not even expecting a reason why they are in this world.

So far no complaints. It seems to be series I may enjoy watching. Just 12 episodes but it can be fun.

Well, this is true. I came to learn to turn off logic and most of my brain cells for scenes like those. I don't even complain anymore but I share your opinion.

Goblin was going for that rape.
Look at the oppai on her.
Dem legs.
Dat oppai bounce.
LMAO at gay dude pulling a knife on badass looking Renji.
LAWD! Dat Barbara oppai. Dat skin. Dat booty. Dat body.
I want Barbara to give me a nickname.
Dat Yume booty.
Dat Shihoru oppai.
Huruhiro got caught looking.
Yume trying to get some HLA going on.
Dat nosebleed.
Dat Yume booty on that tree.

Okay first episode. I look at Yume and think she's going to end up with Haruhiro just based on looks, but I want him to end up with Shihoru.
If you see that my post is exactly 1 month old (or more) from when it was posted... Don't waste your time, especially when you want to reply with something petty & insignificant. Assume that I've moved on (because I have).

Oh god, an entire chat about boobs.

Here comes that god-ugly fanservice that ruins most shows.
