that ringtone :D I had to replay that one 3 times. Cant get enough.

Maybe I lack some empathy but when they suddenly had that serious "oh no I took an arrow to the left arm!" moment I was like - what?! His skill comes from his legs. He wants to be a hero - while its certainly not nice to have long time injuries, why is it important when he only needs his legs for this job. He is not even left handed I believe. So whats the big deal. Midoriya hat serious injuries during the tournament without even capturing a dangerous killer. Thats bad. And on top of that he can even get an OP to heal his arm. So whats the deal.

Nice to see ideology playing a big role. usually kids in shonen can lay waste to entire citys and they are heros, but here they acted outisde the law (even when I think self defense would cover them, after all he let them no choice when they wanted to run away.) and have to deal with that.

Like-able episode for me.
First part, It was good to see those guys defend their pride especially Todoroki. The chief was really nice because he really cares on what's happening.

Second part, A nice with slight serious conversation with both Midoriya and his group, and some serious call from Gran Torino to All Might. Uraraka still on training. lel.

Last part, About Stain huh, It was okay I understand a little, and everyone in the league of villain are interested in him in different way.

Anyway. Next episode will about the new characters. A little interested.

To think that "the aftermath of the Stain's arc" would be that serious!! Deku and his energetic friends still doesn't know all these dangerous senario yet!

This was very intense buildup episode. Easy 6/6. But next episode is anime orginal so might take break as I other anime already gave.

Too hype to see upcoming intense fights!!! (Yeah I am still holding my patience of stop reading the manga!)

I think the whole "punishment" scene made no sense. I guess if they want to cover up who captured stain because they are minors that would be fine, but to say their quirks were misused because the villain had injuries, that's just dumb. He was in the middle of killing someone, obviously he wasn't going to stop killing that person by someone using harsh language. Does that mean that no villain is allowed to be injured even if they are in the process of killing and refuse to stop? Stain was arrested but he was walking with the police, while some of the heroes left on stretchers, seems like his injuries weren't as bad.

Who would be willing to become a hero if the villain is able to kill or severely injure you, but if while you defend yourself or others you happen to injure the villain you get punished. Holding heroes to a higher standard is just a matter of investigating, was the amount of force used justifiable? If yes then no punishment. Clearly in this scenario where someone is being killed the amount of force used was justifiable.

They aren't heroes though, that's the problem. They are highschool students who do not have hero licenses, hence they do not have the freedom to harm someone with their quirk without permission from a superior.

THE POWER OF...CHARISMAAAAA!!
Dio Brando had it, and so do All Might & Stain.

Now I understand why everyone loves the Stain arc so much- it's practically the first major turning point in the story since Stain's appearance and defeat have given him so much exposure. He's pretty much the poster boy for the down and outs, the people that can't fit into- or don't want to be part of- wider society.

Also gotta give props to MHA for its realistic use of social media- it makes the story feel like it's happening now in modern society, and not in some AU of Japan or some nameless fantasy land in the middle of nowhere; right from the more obvious propaganda videos of Stain on the internet to the advert Momo was in. It put a smile on my face!

Looks like Stain's defeat is drawing in all the crazies though, and hopefully we get introduced to some interesting villains since imo that's been the weakest part of MHA so far. But I can forgive that since this is a long-runner and it's been concentrating on building the main characters before anything else.

Also, All For One is a person as well as the name of All Might's Quirk?? Who is it, his evil twin or something?? It's gotta be something linked to his ability though which definitely raises some questions...

Next episode seems to be the calm before the storm. Looking forward to seeing what all the other U.A kids got up to!

Seriously get your reading comprehension up, all of you.
All Might's quirk name is ONE FOR ALL (As in One stands for All, selflessness), the person who seems to be behind the Villain League is called (or is referred to as in his quirk) ALL FOR ONE (as in Everything for One, the opposite of what All Might is). They are probably friends from the past at one point where one gone full evil and the other is All Might.
This is a saying they have divided in two.

I'm sorry, I didn't realise I was taking a specialised comprehensive class on titles and syntax on this MAL forum lmao

I think everyone who watches/reads MHA knows what All Might symbolises by now, however, since his Quirk's name is one half of a two part phrase, it's pretty easy to slip up now and again.

Anyway, at this point, all I'm sure of is that All For One's Quirk has gotta be something to do with stealing other people's Quirks.

You'd think in a society full of mutant powers, the Good Samaritan Law would receive plenty of adjustments and emphasize that it's made possible to save someone from villains' attack. I mean it's just non sensible otherwise. In such a volatile and unpredictable society, following every rule to the letter would be near impossible and each incident should be looked on a case-to-case basis.

That is precisely why they are real heroes, and the real world ones are the best we could get to. They follow the rules thoroughly, not giving in to temptation or anything. Not making even villains suffer, this is heroism.

The thing about the villains is pretty interesting, for somebody that read the manga, Stain is the first major enemy (or antagonist in this case) and the one who have extended and somewhat fleshed out more the world of Bnha, this also will allow to flesh out Shigaraki and his point in the overall story (Who right now is just a manchild throwing tantrums, just as Stain pointed out), that along with the upcoming people that will join the League of villains who also will form part of the grow of the villain side, the grow in the series is not only about the students of UA but also the villains with Shigaraki as one of the main figures along with some of the new people. At this point id say is one of the strongest points right now (obviously coming from the manga) it all started with the character of Stain and his great antagonist role (who is guaranted to come back at some point) and while the story goes on things will get more depth with the villain side of the story.

Did Stain really suffer though? I mean it's a world where people have super powers that could potentially go bad anytime anywhere. Sure we don't necessarily need to kill the bad guys but helping someone else from a certain death seems like a perfectly legit reason to use your quirk, licensed hero or not.

To compare it to our world, you don't need to be a police to stop an attempted robbery or if you save someone from being killed/raped. A bodily injury is inevitable in situations like that and I figure there would literally be tons of that kind of situation in a society where heroes and villains are clearly distinct. It just feels awfully unfair and stiff that there was even a possibility for the UA students to get punished for saving Native's life, especially considering that they did attempt to alert the pro heroes while trying to stall Stain. It just so happened they managed to beat him before the pros arrived.

Great episode as always.

Loved the part where the dog inspector lets the boys of the hook. The OST was really emotional.

Also really glad to see that everyone's keeping up their spirits after this encounter.

Stain may have been defeated but his ideology will not be forgotten and the world is surely gonna change. Whether this ordeal of using Stain as a stepping stone to facilitate the growth of the League of Villains was part of a Master plan is something worth considering.

We got our first tease of All for One with an ominous conversation between All Might and Grab Torino.

That All Might ringtone and Todoroki's joke was epic. XD

I love how Bones gaves us cameos for some of the characters we'll see in the future.

Always a pleasure to see Bakugou in his internship. xD

believe it or not, this story is as much about deku becoming a hero as it is about shigaraki becoming a proper villain. He is not a proper bad guy because he is growing.

Also, during stain and shigaraki's conversation, it became apparant that shigaraki was a noob bad guy who didnt even have a clear goal.He didnt like stain and wanted to kill him. But the outcome was unexpected but he took advantage of it.shigaraki took stain's creed or goal and used it for himself and recruited people. In a way, he also has grown-though its not as apparant as most character development.
Yes, exactly. And hence BnHA's potential keeps on growing.

I cannot wait until they voice her. So excited for her debut as a villain. I don't who she is, but she really stands out, as I don't know any other female villain from Boku no Hero Academia. Well with Stain they definitly did a great job without a doubth one of the most interesting villains (or antagonist in this case?) ive seen in a while, a great add to the series in general and would be great to have him in the story later on again, i suppose you are talking about the lack of some villain figures apart of Shigaraki and bunch of Nomus? because if is thatthen yeah he have been pretty lonely in that aspect, but without a doubt more interesting people will join it and fill more the villain side of the story.

Yeah, well I wasn't I huge fan of Shigaraki anyway, and I'm still not. He's pretty standard so far as far as shounen antagonists go.
Pretty sure we can count Endeavour as an antagonist at this point (despite him ironically being a hero), so I'd put Stain just below him in terms of being an interesting antagonist.

It's just nice to know that Horikoshi can actually write great villains, so I look forward to more in the future!

This show is getting even more interesting.. All for One? But I wonder how the students will keep getting themselves involved with real villains.

I'm looking forward to learning more about some of the new villains we saw, especially the crazy-looking girl and the guy with the stitches on his face.

But first, it looks like Tsuyu will finally get more screen time :)

Ugh this show just keeps getting better and better. I feel really bad for Iida, I hope his arm will heal soon. I love the friendship developing between Iida, Deku, and Todoroki. Todoroki, you so kawaii bastard!

I missed my best girls Uraraka and Asui so much. Ugh.

Woof.

Yup, this show is so good!

Episode 19 will be filler, Episode 20 will cover the rest of the Stain arc, then Episode 21-25 will be the next arc.

Right, thanks a lot for this information!
I was seriously under the impression that the rest of the season will end with flimsy fillers for a moment there. Can't wait to see how the next arc is going to be like as I have hopes for it. After all, this show is just getting better with every single arc.

what arc is that??

Another great episodes. Too bad that Stain got arrested so quickly after his introduction but I really like how he left a pretty big impact on the series. Those last few minutes gave me chills!

I can't wait to see her again.

I wish this series had more major female villains.
Since Himiko is suppose to be the Harley Quinn of My Hero Academia, why not have the Poison Ivy, Talia al Ghul, and Catwoman versions too.

They aren't heroes though, that's the problem. They are highschool students who do not have hero licenses, hence they do not have the freedom to harm someone with their quirk without permission from a superior.

To preface, I agree with you. I think that if they encountered The Hero Killer in the process of killing someone, they should be allowed to do whatever is necessary-- up to and including killing him themselves. It shouldn't matter whether they are licensed or not, even if it would be more messy for the police to deal with.

Still, narrative-wise I think this could potentially serve a good purpose: It gives additional legitimacy to Stain's point and worldview. The methods he was using to try to bring about his goals were reprehensible, evil, and unquestionably wrong, but his claim that the society in Hero Academia's setting has forgotten what actual heroism is may not be. Quirk usage is overregulated; heroes are called such despite often doing what they do for wholly selfish reasons; and actual acts of heroism aren't even necessarily recognized, as in this episode.

What makes it interesting is that he still holds All Might as the ideal, much like the general public. All Might is the only person he views as "worthy" of stopping him, as such. This makes his ideology potentially more sympathetic to the setting's people despite its extremely dangerous/evil nature.

Well, I'm finally almost caught up... didn't take very long though this show is easy to watch a ton in one sitting lol. Love the villains especially Shigaraki and excited to see a glimpse of new ones. But one more episode and I'll have to wait every week for a new one :(

Fun watch though, hospital scene was tense but I'm glad the kids realize they made the right decision.

Great episode. Despite Stain being detained, his influence is as strong as ever. He's compelling because his ideology makes you feel conflicted.

Can't wait to see the Tsuyu episode!

Makes sense why some people would be attracted to Stain's ideology. Dude's got a point. These villains now have a sense of purpose and guiding principle and not just spreading fear and destruction. Interesting. Also "All for One"? hmm..
