The episode wasn't what I was expecting but I think it was necessary and in the end I can say I appreciated it. Now we understand pretty much everything about Nino, Momo and Yuzu's relationships in the past. I have some expectations for the next episode: the story should actually take off now since we have all the elements to understand it. The recurring Twinkle Twinkle Star song was a little annoying, but on one hand, children often get fixated on something till the point they do test one's patience, so it's kind of very realistic. I really liked Yuzu's flashbacks to be honest, he's very sweet and I liked that he proposed again to write songs for her so she doesn't feel sad. I look forward the moment Momo will actually join the story too though, it can turn out very interesting. |

I still think the most redeeming quality of this show is when Alice is paired with instruments...unfortunately, this episode did not have that. Instead, we got the repeated gimmick of this show of Alice singing without a backing band (I already have enough real life annoyances with this). Other than that. I have some other gripes. The character interactions still feel stale with only a few moments that barely work for me. Speaking of the characters, despite knowing the three main characters' backstories, I can still do not care at all about them. Then there are the side characters, who are even worse than our mains. A bit of the dialogue also is "praise the main dialogue" and already have enough to hate about that in SAO...I'd rather not have it here. Still do think it has some decent animation in places though... Safe to say, this show is shaping to be one of the worst of the season for me. |

Ahh well, I expected this episode to be awkward and a bit cringey given the cliched and unrealistic nature of the background story, so I guess it wasn't too bad. At least they got that part done now. The last scene with Yuzu and Nino was cute though. Looking forward to the next episode, I hope we'll see more of Inohari. |

Wow. Very drama. Much suffering... Really, everytime I hear that Lalala song or her singing I have urge to break something o_O Add all that cringe writing around and you have weapon of mass destruction. Six years later and she's still in love with her childhood friend without ever seeing him again? Depressed even? Come on! The main heroine is such onedimensional and stupid character that you want to punch her everytime she speaks. And that's bad because she the centerpiece of this anime. The main problem of this show is that they didn't really grow up, their personalities are pretty much carbon copy of how they were back then, still naive, still frozen in time. And there wasn't any good element added that would bring twist to this cliche... The only good scene in this episode was the very last one, the rest of it was just utterly bad. And due to needlessly long flashback we even didn't get to the point where she meets him again, they just postponed the inevitable. I originally wanted to drop this right after this episode yet they delayed their meeting so I will have to watch one more, just for laughs. Mind me, this isn't even any close to be a trainwreck material, I'm only curious how worse this could get when catalyst scene happens. |

It wasn't just the 'lalala' but also the voice, the way her face is animated when she sings, and even the timing of the singing can be super awkward. how can voice awkward, I don't get it she sings like little girl supposed to sing, I don't have problem with how they animated that, the timing is she supposed to not like listening to people and just sing randomly just like in manga How can anything be awkward? It's awkward bc it's awkward to me. Yea, and I didn't like how she kept interrupting other people to sing. If I was in the shoes of people who were cut off by her singing, I'd be a little more pissed, and maybe acted like that shaved head kid. 'Just like in the manga' huh, this is anime, not manga. The only thing Alice knows how to do is make noise...ANNOYING noise. She's literally the most annoying factor of this whole show. Which SUCKS because I want to like this show and it has potential, but the annoying singing and the consistent twinkle twinkle makes it very hard not to head desk. If this was a drinking game with shots, you'd be drunk by the end of the episode if not 4/5ths through. The two guys aren't the problem, it's all Alice. If she could be less annoying then maybe the anime would have some redemption. |

DUDE. exactly my thoughts... She doesn't suit for Nino(Alice) i fell like the character is great, but it's her voice (Hayama Saori) that makes her annoying I'm on the same boat, Hayami has a pretty and soothing voice which doesn't fit Nino at all. Also, la la la's can sound pretty and NOT annoying. Not sure if that was Hayami's fault or the director/sound director or all of them for that decision. Yes not all kids are musically inclined, but she's supposed to have a unique voice at the very least but the Twinkle Star and the lalala's were neither unique nor pretty to listen to. Really wished they could've at least made the lalala's flow better, like legato those notes. That voice alone should not have sounded impressive to Yuzu. Well I think the worst part is over, I never really found Nino to be annoying in the manga. I'm more interested on the music side of things for the adaptation anyways. |

You seem to be the troll here, I don't try to convince you to watch this, I try to convice how stupid you are, what I watch I don't need people to see it. I want to add, that the author is the one suggested Saori Hayami to voice Nino because she wants Nino to sound like Saki from East of Eden, about the singing she had audition with the author attended and approved her. Hayami also voiced the drama CD in 2014, and here she just reprised her role, the author also attends every recording because she is so excited for her first anime adaptation. So even if you think what is presented so far don't fit with what you want but that is what the author suggested. |

I get that she likes to sing loudly and full of raw emotion, but I always forget to turn down my vol before watching this show.. especially during flashbacks.. her voice can be a little piercing... I dk but I feel everything is like going so fast.... it's like their burning through a book quickly. Episode constraints? This felt like a 24 episoder to me. or rather, it has the potential to.. no real gripes with it but i just feel its better if they slow it down a little bit.. |

This was a flashback episode. Nice so we understand the relationships between Nino and Yuzu, Nino and Momo. Nino does not has a good voice and I liked what Brain's Base tried to do with it because in the manga in the beginning she doesn't has a good voice. Her singing skills will become better as the plot progress. Hayami Saori is doing an incredible job voicing Nino because she's a famous singer her voice is amazing and she's like cringing when she's voicing Nino I don't like the personality of Momo and Nino I find them annoying Yuzu is so cute I want to protect him He will go through a lot of suffering I ship him with Nino even though I know this ship will not happen I STILL SHIP THEM I like how Brain's Base is making the title of the episode the last sentence of Yuzu in the episode. I liked this idea This episode was better than the first one. We understand the whole " my voice hasn't reached him" and the whole plot I liked the opening and the animation was better Good episode |

darn! This girl is too obsessed with Momo, its quite annoying. Its not even logic for a young girl around 8-9 y.o to be stressed about man, to the point of craziness (screaming & everything). Btw, I think its better than Fuuka, I will give this a chance.... |

My ears are bleeding after all that screaming. :-/ Twinkle song is slowly killing me, if there's anime about music there's always this piece of crap. Awkward and unattractive character design, especially when they 'sing'. What 4th grader speaks, acts and thinks like that? So many minuses, it's unbearable. |

I haven't cried this much for an anime in a while. Wolf's Rain is still no. 1 in that regard, but this one is amazing as well. |

Forgive my prejudice, but this drama maybe a big reason why this is a shoujo anime. That friend-zone at the end though =( |

Hirugiku said: Flashback was really nice, made me connect to characters better and see what kind of person Momo is, i like how he responded to Baldy who laughed at them for holding hands with a hand, Momo said that he is just jealous that no girl wants to hold hands with him, he said it in such a cool way too. Cause if you remember www.working Yuuta and Shiho were in the same situation and he actually didn't want to see her because of his peers laughing at him for holding hands with a girl. So yeah i can already feel T_T it might be a really emotional ride depending on which direction anime will turn, i jsut hope it won't be as bad as Fuuka >_< Btw what's up with Yuzu suddenly calling her Alice, her name doesn't even sound like it >_< He could call her anything for all it matters. ARISUgawa nino, ARISU for short. That 's the japanese word for alice |

Looks like everyone's annoyed by Alice's lalala's (me included)-- but unfortunately, I really like the storyline TT^TT |

I understand how the "la-la-la's" are annoying but it makes sense. It's not like Yuzu was writing lyrics in the sand too, so she just went with a simple choice and it makes sense. Doesn't make it any less annoying but maybe it's just because I'm a music nerd that I find this very cute. I'm really enjoying the anime so far, I'm not really sure why it's barely rated a 7 but then again, only just finished episode 2. |
