Wow that takes dedication. I mean, to redo all those words and checks..

I found this episode to be rather intense. Everyone is working hard to complete the dictionary while Majime is trying to overcome his own obstacles. Matsumoto is also apparently hospitalized so I hope he gets better.

Also really liked the way they tied together the words in a way for Majime's own perspective like a fantasy. The realism is good as it depicts overwork teamwork.

I feel like that empty room and showing the picture of Matsumoto at the end was some kind of foreshadowing, especially with all the death flags so far

Majime has come so far since the beginning of the anime. Once an awkward..... salesman (i think??) and now heading up and leading a department.

And Granny 。・゚゚・(>д<)・゚゚・。
We all knew, but i just wished it wasnt true, now its official.

Great episode, I always love seeing those warmhearted interactions between Majime and Kaguya. A bit of a scare in the hospital, but all is fine.... for now D:

There's a word missing!!! Well I guess that would be the most exciting peak of drama as far as dictionary writing can go.

I said it last ep, and I'll repeat it again. This show does an amazing job imo of getting us invested into the characters and their work.
I felt so worried during the entire checking process and the temp staff's anxiety when they were checking the last set of words as well as their evident relief when they were good to go completely mirrored my reactions.
We also got confirmation of the grandmother's death as well as some... potential foreshadowing to Matsumoto-Sensei's death... I hope it's not true but it seemed really likely after this ep.

I loved Kaguya and Majime's interactions back at home, it's weird that it gave me a nostalgic feeling despite the fact that the memories that they were referring to in their conversations happened only a few eps ago goes to show that the timeskip may have been sudden, but the handling of it was very good to make it seem so natural after

Finale next week... Please let everything be alright!

It's good that everything worked out in the end. Well it kind of has to seeing as how there's only one episode left.

Matsumoto in the hospital isn't much of a surprise after last episode, but the end of this episode is making me worry about whether or not he'll actually be ok.
People on MAL refuse to actually enjoy watching anime.

Your taste in anime isn't a personality trait.

MAL is literally just anime Twitter as its own website lol.

It's the little touches that make it so easy to connect with the characters and their emotions. The scene when they're doing the final fixes and the female temp cuts off her squeal because she doesn't want to jinx it stood out. A nice little moment to add to the excited atmosphere that made their relief and happiness feel genuine when everything was finally completed. Definitely a proud moment.

This series feels like it's about finding a passion and sharing it with others. It started with 2 people talking about their first experience with dictionaries. There you can see Araki picking up Matsumoto's love for the project and wanting to complete it. From there it become infectious and little by little we see it branching out to affect other people.

Wew. Checking 240 thousand words. Glad that no words are missing this time. Next ep finally The Great Passage dictionary will be completed.

Very good episode.

It was pretty cool to see Majime leading the team and stepping up for the dictionary, back in episode 1 he couldn't even do sales properly. xD

That is some intense work though, Checking the entire set of words again. Was nice how the workers finally got into the work.

Couldn't stop grinning when they completed the review and confirmed that there were no more missing words. :D

Ah, Our little mascot appears in the show. xD

That ending scene, Hope Matsumoto is fine.

Finale next week, Good Luck to "The Great Passage"
Photo session post-credits with the granny was very nice.

Loved the music in this episode.

Was hopping grandma had hit 110+ years. Really miss her, such a charming character R.I.P

Hoping that Matsumoto Sensei can at least see the Great Passage finished before passing away. He dedicated so much of his life to it.

Majime got way better with words after a few years. Loved that small exchange he had with Kagyua (huge smile on my face while watching it).

Wanted to see if Nishioka and Myoshi are married or at least together after all this time, they formed such an great couple.

240000 words.... I'm so happy for them that they made it! I could feel their joy.

Fantastic episode. The episode confirmed as well that grandma passed away ;__;.... That ending after the ED made it all the more sad :/..

I have this feeling that sensei passed away, since the ending before the ED kinda foreshadowed it ;__;....

Can't believe just one more episode is left D:
Missing Nishio's company tbh. The anime could've used one or two eps more.

Yeah the attention to detail makes the show have such a stronger impact. The details may be small, but like anything in life, the small things eventually add up. I remember when the member cheered I was thinking "shush! People are still working!" in my head, it was a pretty nice detail to add definitely.

That's a really good thought, the more I think about it the more I start to see just how much his passion has been shared with others throughout the series. Majime has shared his passion with Kaguya, all his coworkers at the Editorial department, Nishioka, Kishibe and by extension of these initial people the passion was shared with the temp workers and even that one guy who made the paper. Without a doubt this show has done an excellent job at showing the characters' passion and drive for their craft and that's an amazing feat!

Yeah this show brings back the memory of when I finally found out I was good at something. Not only that but I was able to make a career out of it. It became more than just enjoying going to work. It was that feeling of fulfillment. When you truly love what you do it makes everything that much more satisfying.

Even though he was panicking on the inside, Majime handled the crisis LIKE A BOSS.

Did Matsumoto-sensei really get discharged from the hospital, or has he actually died and no one was told yet because of The Great Passage crisis? My heart sank when I saw what appeared to be Matsumoto-sensei's vacant home office and the picture of him and his wife. Not to mention the look on his wife's face as everyone was leaving the hospital. I kinda felt like she knew Matsumoto wasn't going anywhere anytime soon.

I'm surprised a lot of people are surprised Oba-chan is dead, I felt it was pretty obvious when she wasn't around after the time skip.

The ending is what was intriguing to me, the empty study of Matsumoto-sensei. A Picture of himself and what I would assume to be his Daughter, and then the Ferris Wheel...do Ferris Wheels have a deeper meaning? I feel like they're all over this anime.

EDIT: Wow when you google Ferris Wheel Dreams you get a while bunch of different interpretations. This one seemed most accurate.

"Ferris wheel The Ferris wheel could be symbolic of the “circle of life.” It may represent the ups and downs of life that create the total life experience. The circle is one of the most important dream symbols. It points to the center of personality and our being that in turn brings…"

I can well understand the immense effort of when you check back for good a set of things, whether of words. Who knows what allegory, what he meant. Nishioka remains a key character in the cast, the final worries me, while the image at the end of episode is so sweet and touching.

I just feel that the way they make the whole imagery dramatization things about 'the hole' and 'the world losing all the words' is bit too much of exaggeration and feel out of place in this anime with its heavy realism; down-to-earth theme and its realistic portrayal of life.

I wonder why Majime doesn't have a child or two running around. He's been happily married for over a decade after all. Unless one of them is sterile, or they're actively avoiding having children, they should have at least one.

That was intense. Checking 240,000 words over the course of several days manually. I've been totally drawn into this dictionary thing, what a great show being able to accomplish that! I was real happy and felt relaxed and a bit of accomplishment (even though I didn't do anything except watch) when they finished.

Majime might not have changed much physically, but he sure is a different, better person. He's stronger, more confident, more determined. He went from a salesperson who couldn't do his job well at all to someone leading a department (which technically only has him and Kishibe as its employees).

I loved his interaction with Kaguya. It's down-to-earth, realistic, but at the same time feels so lovely and wholesome. They didn't overdo it or made it all lovey-dovey, but I could definitely feel so the warmth and the love. I can't help but love their interactions.

Matsumoto-sensei is going to die. They've been dropping so many flags now, I'm sure of it. I just hope he dies after The Great Passage is published...

I'm afraid of watching the next episode. Also, I don't want this series to end...

Editing drama. A single word missing could possibly throw off page counts and arrangements for the entire dictionary. Additionally, it throws in doubt that there could be other issues with the final version. Reviewing 240,000 words is absolutely miserable, especially by hand. The office seemed to have access to computer spreadsheets, but probably due to computer knowledge limitations, they're reviewing it all by hand. I can almost guarantee that no matter how careful they are, they'll still miss something. It's just not possible to be absolutely perfect, so hopefully the dictionary works out as best it can.

the scene where majime went home after everyone has reached their limit & paying respects/lighting incense to the grandma made me cry. she always was a source of comfort to him, after long days, she always made him a nice meal & was there to chat with him :’) the after-credits scene, so simple & so sad too. such is life......

i loved this quote that majime said: “Perhaps dedicating yourself life to something frees you from the world somehow.” how beautiful.......

hope that sensei will be in good health & manage to see the great passage published!

The drama was funny, one word missing and they go through everything again only to notice that was the only one missing. But otherwise it felt a bit empty, I didn't really buy it, this desperation over one word. Though I do know that editing can be arduous even on the computer and a single slip may change everything.

Nice shot of a miniature Ferris wheel at the end.

Such a great episode packed with so much story. Love how amazing the temps were at doublechecking that every word was accurately included. But for them to only have the first mistake is kind of gut-wrenching, as they lost so much time and money only to confirm that there were no further mistakes.
Nowadays, wouldn't we have a computer to check this?
