| Man did Christmas come early? This is amazing news I figured there was enough for a second season. It will probably be 12-13 episodes I wonder where it will end this time. Hopefully right at the start of the Monster Association/Garou arc. I am so hyped for this announcement!!! |

Just because they announced a 2nd season, doesn't mean production has started and that it will come out this year (2017). Look at Attack on Titan Season 2. I'm hoping that Murata and One can finish the manga adaptation of the Monster Association arc by mid-2018 (ending with the Garou fight). Currently, we're at Chapter 72 and I'm hoping they wrap it up by Chapter 90. With it being almost one chapter per month, that will be somewhere middle of 2018 and then production (12 to 15 months) can finally start. This will put the anime releasing sometime in 2019. Honestly, even if the arc extends beyond Chapter 90, anime viewers will benefit immensely. There will be more scenes from chapters to cut down and eliminate the need for fillers. It kinda sucks for Murata and One that their hard (lengthy) work is compressed into a couple of minutes of screen time, but fans can still appreciate their work through purchasing the manga. This leaves anime viewers none the wiser or may even encourage them to pick up the manga. |
