Ooh, this episode felt nostalgic.

Electronic magnetism is interesting. I like that Mr Morse guy as well, hope to see more of him in the future. I think Mari understood phase demonstration a bit more too.

The Mari/Shun chemistry though..wasn't expecting that!

All of the gravestones have the same engraving :D

(And why is it left-justified?)

Spectating anime graveyards is fun. Sailor Moon episode 26 had gravestones engraved with "Sound Theater Library Produced by Herbert..." and "Colour Black."

They'll probably fix that in the BD's.

Morse's episode was pretty meh which was unfortunate because they made him a cute guy and we all know the ikemen types get a lot of development. It's tough to follow after the seemingly rockstar status that is Faraday.

Everyone is trying to ship Shun with Mari. I dunno. I get that they're only 1-2 years apart but Shun looks and acts like a grown man compared to Mari.
I wish Cowboy Bebop never existed.

Ok, now the plot's definitely heating up. So Mari's dad didn't invent the book. Plus it has all of Shun's future accomplishments recorded in it. And something about Mari...did future Shun send the book back to Mari's dad? Does Mari marry(heh) Shun? Waka and Mari's mom certainly ship it! XD

Mari's father are know how to make money with that electromagnet kit. LOL
Even the "romance" is now heating up. But yeah I really hope the priority is for the plot for getting more excited.

Electronic magnetism is sure so interesting!

I did not expect to see Shun's future accomplishment records in the book!

This was a cute episode haha. Not much at all on EM theory this episode but a brief glance at Morse.

An electromagnet differs from a permanent magnet in that the atomic coherency needs an energy boost from electricity in order to magnetize it, whereas permanent magnets are self-resonating and keep themselves magnetized (spun-up gyromagnetic field) until they decay.

The telegraph lines in which they used Morse Code, as seen in the after-credits is extremely simple in principle; anyone can understand it. Explaining the actual processes of electrification and how that translates to inertia is not a simple feat however.

Inspiration is as simple as that, just the right mind seeing the right thing at the right time.

(I sure as hell hope they don't glorify Edison, cuz he's the biggest asshole in scientific history, not to mention rather dimwitted.)

Decent episode, but probably the weakest so far.

It's definitely the most "generic" episode yet, but the show clearly knows how to turn the ordinary into the extraordinary. While a lot of these twists are fairly typical, the mystery is starting to build towards its climax, and we're still getting education and entertainment to boot.

So we basically agree, except I'm more enthusiastic about it.

So Shun has discovered how to work this time traveling machine and he sends Mari into the past and then sends her seven or so years ahead. And here we have Mr. Eiji messing.around with important historical people and then having to make up for his mistakes. Don't nekoing mess with them in the first place dammit!

The book wasn't written by Eiji – it came from the future during one of his experiments. And in that book it is written that Professor Shun does something sugoi in the field of time travel and Mari also does something cool related to whatever Shun does. So the book could have been sent by Shun during the time travel experiments by Eiji. And it could be here so that Mari learns stuff and then go on to make those big contributions similar to how Eiji is travelling through time to help those scientists do their scientific job.

Oh it's Morse now, but it was fun how Mari's father has to play the role of the one who gave him the idea because he made the original guy drunk xD Anyway turns out Mari's father isn't the one who invented the book and also Shun will become a major scientist in the future hmm
