Lovely, the feels are here. It was really sad that even though Naho attempted to actively change things, she was too late. I wonder if Kakeru is going to put two and two together realize she likes him after reading that note. But that title drop with the orange juice was very nice. Also, the letter reading in the future reeked of melancholy. All those friends being somewhat distant compared to their high school selves. I'm loving this series.

atooo the idea of this anime is quite different. Suiciding of a high school student and one of the main characters mixed with changing the future...so much pain
it seems very sad anime but we dnt know how it will end

The episode was really good, especially with Kakeru developing more. Besides the really obvious stuff everyone's talking about, I'm also starting to feel for Suwa--he clearly likes Naho, but he still has to go on knowing that she liked Kakeru on the past and would still go to such extreme lengths to save him. Not saying that Suwa wouldn't do that, just that it's painful because Naho loves Kakeru.

I'm sure ge will. His character hasn't developed to have him be a clueless dunce, like tons of other *mainly rom-com* MCs.

You sure you want me to spoil it for you? Both will be explained in future episodes :P Well, if you really want to I can send you a message, I'd rather not put it here.

Just tell me if there is a logical explanation to it or is it something supernatural (the letters I mean)

"Did Kakeru know he would have no future? No one knows what the future will hold. Even the future Kakeru had in mind for us didn't come true. We're not close like we used to be, and nobody is laughing."

"Lets go and celebrate the birthday we didn't get a chance to ten years ago. Lets make it all come true. We'll laugh and be close friend again. We could have saved him, if we had only watched him more closely. If I could re-do the past, I would run to Kakeru without hesitation. I swear I'll save him next time."

The best part of the episode was definitely when they were all reading their time capsule letters and it got to Kakeru's. The looks on everyone's faces and Suwa's voice shaking when he finished it reading it, "did Kakeru know he wouldn't be around anymore? Did he not plan on having a future?" was powerful stuff.

If everyone is crying this early, then dear god can I not wait for the episode discussion for the episode that adapts chapter 19.

BTW if all works as intended in the end, is future Suwa a cuckold?

Who's the two haters giving this episode a 1?

Haha anyway, no, I didn't actually cry (which I'm surprised, since I'm such a crybaby), but the part that made me want to cry was when Naho looked back at Suwa, tears almost bursting, and running down the hall. The part with Kakeru's letter was just a bit nostalgic.

Still a 5/5, though <3

Ugh.... the underlying principals of Japanese society with their "Stay polite under any circumstance" is a frustrating recipe for all sorts of misunderstandings. So long as you never get your true intentions across, you will always have such silly drama as misconceptions about people around you causing you to move and operate in a different way from what you were suppose to. Think of all those "mistake couples" that could have been avoided had people just actually spoke their minds...

It's been pretty obvious that Kakeru has a special bond with Naho which he doesn't quite share with the others in the group, and yet she still acts all wishy-washy when the time comes to execute the things which her future self has specifically stated in the letter.

If I had her foresight and I knew one mistake (telling him to join them on the first day) was a fatal mistake (possibly could have allowed him to save his mother from suicide), then after messing up that first time I would have obsessively followed those letter to a T, regardless of outside distractions, because it could potentially have dire consequences. How long would it have taken to just pull out the eraser cover, read the letter and run to him to tell him a response directly? All of this drama about the sempai confession could have been avoided just like that, seriously man....

That said, I'm still curious as to his motivations in all this. Kakeru basically indicated in that letter that he wouldn't live to see the day they dug up that time capsule, now I really want to know what he has planned and what led up to his suicide (well they said it wasn't an accident, so its plenty obvious). If only Naho could just read the entire letter out and then do what she needs to do....

Man this is such a great adaptation of the manga. When they realized that Kakeru never planned on having a future and broke down realizing he committed suicide that made me tear up all over again. Can't wait to see the ratings for this series shoot up.

Really enjoying this series so far. As someone who was once a shy and underconfident teen girl, Naho is very relatable. I can see myself making so many of the same mistakes, and for the exact same reasons.

I don't know how to say this, but Naho is kind of an idiot. She has the complete walkthrough of her life written in front of her and she doesn't use it.
btw I sense Alpha B*tch waves from Ueda. Also it's f*cking dumb of Kakeru to hide a message under the eraser cover. I mean, who does that?
Despite this, Kakeru's possible suicide is depressing. I didn't cry, but AnoHana feels during the last five minutes
Like this adaptation so far <3

Good episode and so much feels at the end. I guess the Orange Title is based on how Naho describe the orange juice, its sweet, sour and sorrowful. Much better pacing compared to the previous 2 episodes. More on Naho's monologue, her thoughts about the letter. Poor Naho so hard for her to change the future. Kakeru' death wasn't't an accident, he already knows he has no future. Looking forward for the next episode

The story is really interesting. Kakeru already know that he would die. I wonder if he planned a suicide or if his death is due to a disease, I think it's a suicide.

I sort of get why people find this show slow and boring... I'd usually agree, but since I've read the manga my bond to this show and understanding of it makes me unable to dislike it -

Mainly because criticising the awkwardness makes no sense. This show is all set from Naho's point of view. And Naho IS awkward. She is like awkwardness itself. I Actually LOVE how they zoom in on the characters' faces - and how they keep the "camera" there. Because that's what Naho does. Naho is the silent observer, always cautious, afraid to make a mistake. Whenever she reads in that letter she - who is already really timid and afraid of doing anything slightly rash (even out of the ordinary) - becomes torn between sticking to the letter (doing things that arecertainly out of her comfort zone) and just staying in her own comfort zone, doing as she would normally. People here forget that it isn't that easy for someone to change. Regardless of the letter, Naho is still human, she still has her own personality - and the letter couldn't change that in such short time (tho it's starting to, slowly).

Phew, what a heavy episode there with Kakeru's letter. I think it can be interpreted in two ways though - both that he didn't expect to have a future but also that his future was with this group of friends. This now makes me think that Naho's letter to herself is an attempt not just to save Kakeru's life, but to make sure he can see that future along with them.

Damn, that was a great episode. I'm really getting into this anime now.

Kakeru didn't quit the club even though the prediction said he would... I guess that means the future Naho doesn't get any "updates" from the past about what's going on, and if things change she doesn't know how everything will turn out anymore...

That scene from the future was really sad. I didn't realize at first what Kakeru's wish meant, but then it hit me pretty hard... So he staged it to look like an accident; that's depressing...

Well, MC's timidness is probably the reason why he's going out with redhead. She didn't approach him and it does add the to the heaping mountain of problems with these character are struggling with internally. The author sure loves her tortured souls.

Their baby looks really cute and I haven't read the manga yet because I'll be too lazy to finish the Anime afterwards... maybe. I'll read it after the Anime is finished. However, I'm just guessing that

Just as humans have a prior right to existence over dogs by virtue of being more highly evolved and having a superior consciousness, so women have a prior right to existence over men. The elimination of any male is, therefore, a righteous and good act, an act highly beneficial to women as well as an act of mercy.

i liked this episode much more than the last two, aaah!! i love the characterization tbh, and the little background scenes like when suwa is telling them about the tourist he gave directions too. though i feel like the art is kind of disappointing and awkward at times, like in the last scene with kakeru's letter? could've been much better, tbh. i'm a bit worried about how they're going to fit 22 chapters into 13 episodes, but still really excited to see how it all turns out!!
