It was an OK year for anime IMO... I LOVED Prison School, TLR Darkness 2, DanMachi, Souma, and a few others... My favorite anime of the year was in fact Prison School and I definitely believe this year was better than 2014. With all the potential anime upcoming for 2016, my faith in anime has been mostly restored. |

It had Durarara and Husband 2, but other than that, not so much. Though I don't watch weekly so I didn't see nearly as much as everyone else, but I watched a fair bit. |

We get all these interesting shows every year and people still tend to talk about how anime is dying. It's been my final thoughts for the past 5 years. We got a Prison School anime and I'm pretty content with this year because of it. We got a Parasyte anime last year and I was content with it that year. We got a SnK anime in 2013, and I was pretty content with it that year. In 2012, we had Shinsekai yori. Next year we're getting 3 anime that I see potential in just the first 2 seasons, and I'm pretty content about that already. Years go by and being an anime fan doesn't change. |

For me, 2015 was like this: - Winter: Durarara!!x2 Shou was my favorite with Ansatsu Kyoushitsu came a close second. The season as a whole was weak and it was topped off by Kuroko S3 being the huge disappointment I kinda expected it to be. Kuroko had the best OP though. Koufuku Graffiti was a pleasant surprise that nicely warmed up for Shokugeki. - Spring: Shokugeki was my favorite though mostly because Kekkai Sensen took such a long ass time with it's finale. Vampire Holmes was utterly terrible, then comes about a ton of shit under which is Triage X. Do not watch the anime, read the manga instead. Arslan Senki had best OP which was bested by Kekkai Sensen's ED. Punchline was easily the surprise of the season. Also, Spring was best season of the year. - Summer: Worst season of the year, filled with utterly terrible finales. Akagami and Working stood out, while stuff like Gangsta, Overlord and Ranpo Kitan started out well, but started flopping soon enough. Not to mention, Gangsta didn't even have a finale. Worst of the season was easily Ranpo Kitan. Best OP goes for Gangsta as well as best ED. Himouto! was the surprise of the season while Durarara!!x2 Ten disappointed big time. - Fall: Gundam is best of the season right behind Haikyuu and GochiUsa, both of which only improved on their preceding seasons, while Comet Lucifer can easily be called the biggest disappointment. Started nicely with some of the best use of 3DCGI in TV anime I've seen, it very quickly fell apart. Worst of the season is shared by Heavy Object and Comet Lucifer, though the scale is tipped more towards CL since I've only seen HO's first two episodes. Best OP is easily Haikyuu, while GochiUsa has best ED and the surprise of the season would have to be Anitore! Ex. I was totally expecting another Hinako, but this one is actually quite informative. All in all, this year has been rather weak. A few standout anime here and there, but absolutely plagued with lower-than-shit-tier anime. |

OPM Saved this year , there is some good anime like Ansatsu Kyoushitsu (winter),owari no seraph and kekkai sensen but i think OPM is the hero of 2015 but in general 2014 was better than 2015 |

I gave a 9/10 to a recent series for the first time in quite a while I think. So while I haven't watched a lot of show ffrom this year yet, it already gave me something better than 2014 and 2013 series wise. So so far 2015 was Rokka no Yuusha/10. |

Looking at this thread I seem to be the only one who liked Unlimited Blade Works. I didn't catch anything from before the summer season so I had a pretty limited selection for 2015. OPM was good, but all in all I think 2016 will definitely be a much better year. Second season of AoT, Nanatsu no Taizai, and a new D. Gray Man, plus many others. Can't wait. |

Winter: Death Parade/ Saekano Spring: Oregairu 2/ Kekkai Sensen Summer (Best season in my humble opinion): Non Non Biyori/ Overlord/ Gate/ Prison school and Others.. Fall (Worst season for me): OPM Overall a decent year I guess, hopefully 2016 will be better though. FunkyNano said: Non Non Biyori AOTS Renge is GOAT +∞ Renge is love, Renge is life. |

So many people in this topic are edgy. Especially the guy saying he laughs whenever someone says OPM saved anime. Rofl, but I digress. This year was an exceptional year, One Punch Man saved anime. Ignore that, just want to mock the other guy, but to be honest, One Punch Man was the best anime of this year. I mean, shit, they even got the greatest minds from every field to work on the anime, I could smell the bitter, dirty yet sweet scent of Japanese currency burning away with every second, every Episode, but God DAMN it was good. Saitama is my man-bae, Ryuko Matoi will just have to accept a fellow bae in our life. Side note: Genos 'doe. Hot damn. |

2015 anime had the lowest scores overall in the past five years for me. Overall, it was pretty unimpressive, especially the Fall season. I tend to give high scores easily and have multiple 10's every year, and I only had 2 this year (Mushishi ova and Death Parade). Also, I watched mush less series from this year because of the lack of interesting anime. I'm really looking forward to next year, though! |

Let's see... Winter, we were "blessed" with KanColle and Aldnoah S2. Tokyo Ghoul RA failed us all by becoming crap. Shinmai Maou was absolute bullshit and, finally, Koufuku Graffiti introduced a whole new definition of meh. However, Durararax2 started. Parasyte and Shigatsu ended magnificently, the former being obviously superior. And Death Parade was pretty good. As for AOTS, Saekano. Don't ask why. It's fucking GOAT. Spring was, well, pretty good. The long awaited Owari no Seraph adaptation started (But ended up as shit). Kekkai Sensen bursted from out of nowhere and became a cult classic in Japan. DanMachi reminded us, again, why we hate SAO so much. Ore Monogatari introduced one of the most GAR characters in all of Shoujo Anime, Takeo. Plastic Memories, the supposed dark horse, fell on its face way too fast. Nisekoi's second season introduced the world to best girl Haru. Hibike Euphonium blessed the world with background waifus and yuri undertones taken to the extreme (oh yeah, and some music). Grisaia's second season was surprisingly decent. Ansatsu ended pretty abruptly, though we have a season 2 incoming. Ufo-fangays continued to suck type-moon's dick with the new F/SN blasting with sales. The Batman returned with Oregairu's masterfully crafted second season. And finally, Gintama. Summer was pretty much crap, with the 2nd half of Shokugeki to keep my eyes from bleeding out. Overlord and Charlotte were able to utilize cop outs in order to fool the audience into thinking some smart dynamic was going on (Pathetic). Gakkougurashi ended up a failure of an adaptation that ruined the original with all of its bullshit. Himouto died halfway, the jokes getting really sickening. Fucking Chaos Dragon in all its bullshit and trickery. God Eater... I don't fucking... What the fuck... And Ranpo Kitan, basically the worst thing to happen since Twilight fanfiction made it to shelves. Redeeming shows include Rokka no Yuusha, which was able to pull a word-per-word adaptation while still being good. Gate, while it ended abruptly, was pretty neat for its world building and politics. Joukamachi carried the season with Hanazawa's character. Jitsu wa Watashi wa was able to build a pretty decent harem story (Who knew we'd see that day). Durararax2 Ten was... okay. Arslan almost made it, with only a half-decent conclusion which is sad. And finally, Prison School and Shimoseka. (Oh yeah, and Lupin) Lastly, Fall. Decent, to say the least. The OPM adaptation hit the community like a storm, becoming one of the most popular series to date. Rakudai Kishi was able to introduce and realize themes into its naturally flawed story which is pretty fucking good. Comet Lucifer, in all its potential, fell straight into the incinerator where we can never hope to see it again. Dance with Devils (and oh my god, I can't believe this shit's ending tomorrow!) was full of shit. Osomatsu-san was able to create a large-scale underground community which I still find strange considering the show's blatant un-funnyness. Diabolik Lovers graced us with its unwelcome return reminding us how shitty it still is. Owari's second season, while more bearable, is still going to be shit, most probably. Heavy Object brought in heavy-metal, babe grabbing buddy cop action which I find most pleasing. Noragami Aragato surpassing its first season with probably the best arc in the second half. Haikyuu once again makes tumblr explode. And finally, Gundam, which burst from the shadows and dominated the sci-fi world with its explosive and engaging story. As for the AoTS, Subete ga F ni Naru which stormed the front with its old school detective style writing and unique existentialist approach. And with that, the year is probably... just okay, with Winter being probably the most memorable season of the four. As for 2016, since we're seeing the return of Attack on Titan, I probably should start preparing my anti-AoT-fag bunker. |
