A law in the Netherlands has caused a stir after government ministers deemed it legal for driving instructors to offer lessons in return for sex. The unusual law dubbed 'a ride for a ride' states that instructors can offer lessons on the best way to handle a sharp bend as long as students are over the age of 18. Apparently, they've been doing this for seven years already, and (according to them), they have a 60% success rate (which they claim is higher than the national average). I will say that, despite being Dutch myself, this is the first time I've heard of it. I probably wouldn't try it myself (despite the fact that it's not available in my region), but if others want to do it, more power to them. |

They should implement this into the driving test, like the DMV person blows the driver or something that like that, and see how well they can drive under those conditions. |

This is really a horrible idea. For one thing its unregulated prostitution. For another they probably are fucking in the car. So everyone who takes a test is just sitting on heap of bodily fluids of many people. |

I had not thought that someone would argue for this hence why I had missed this reply which I will inform you of personally that I have responded as I do not ignore responses. Was randomly going through some old threads. AO968- “You act as if this is in danger of becoming the norm anytime soon. It's not. it's a niche service that serves people who want a drivers license, but can't pay for it, and don't mind a little hanky-panky to make up for it. You're making a mountain out of an anthill.” Zsy- I am displaying how absurd it Is, not how I think it’s about to become a norm anytime soon. Chances are if they have access to a vehicle then a drivers licence does not seem financially unreachable to these people, they need to learn to save, stop being lazy, shortcuts are no good. Also if that poor, that saving for a drivers licence is so far beyond your financial grasp then im certain a driver’s licence is not on the top of your priority list. “Making a mountain out of an anthill” Funny similar things said about topics like smoking being bad for your health. Not to mention the possible crimes this could lead to. Never said that it will spread to other forms of commerce, displayed an absurdity, and there are always gateway events, whats to stop dental care from adopting a similar attitude or protesting why not us, discrimination etc, they want something they can pay with their bodies, as an example. It is not impossible. If you are looking for alternatives perhaps better for driving lessons etc to be done through high schools subsidised or some other solution. AO968- “No, we don't. Really, we don't. We're perfectly capable of deciding for ourselves what we think is morally just and what isn't. Heck, you could even learn a thing or two from us.” Zsy- You decided to include yourself in that group, so far I have seen that people find this wrong and disgusting from the comments, you have placed yourself on the perfectly fine with it group. So yes the many that happen to disagree with this are capable of deciding what is morally just, regarding an issue like this. AO968- “Why does it matter? We're not talking about (assisted) suicide, so I don't see why you bring this up.” Zsy- You said “Let people do whatever the fuck they want to do, so long as it doesn't harm others”, do you even follow context? AO968- “Ad hominem attacks won't make your argument any more solid; quite the contrary, in fact” Zsy- Did you follow the thread? Because clearly one comment was an argument and the other comment in a separate post was a joke not used to make argument more solid, clearly a pick at you for defending the action in question, Which was also in response to “keep your holier than though to yourself" which can also be seen as an ad hom attack certainly and clearly not used to make argument more solid lol, wut. |

Since so-called "feminists" have so much power recently and this actually wasn't prevented, the only conclusions I can arrive at are that either femnists have no power in the netherlands (wow, I only realize now that this almost sounds like an innuendo), or that this was all caused by the "feminists" in the first place in a kind of "false flag" movement, or otherwise they "for some reason" can't use this in their campaign to promote rape culture (yes, those "feminists" are probably creating more rapists than would exist without them, because they are their fuel of existence and without fuel they can't do what they do). |

By stating I support this because I have no sex life, you're attacking (or, at the very least, trying to discredit) me on false presumptions, purely based on where I come from. That's why I called you out on it. Anyway, I still don't see why you're making such a fuss over this. Prostitution is legal here, it's on a consensual basis, it's safe (because this practice probably wouldn't have lasted this long if all their instructors and their clients got STDs), and people don't have to do it if they don't want to (you CAN still pay with money, after all). I can see this being a reason for people to consider it if they absolutely need a drivers license, but can't raise enough money to pay for driving lessons. However, I also don't think anyone would just hop in the car and do 'it' with a complete stranger. To me, this seems like a solution for the truly desperate among us, and I believe people are free to choose whatever they do with their lives (or their bodies, for that matter). So, why do you feel the need to tell us what we can and cannot (or should and should not) do? If your profile is correct, you don't even live here. Even if South Africa has problem with what we do, it doesn't affect you in any form or way, so I don't understand why this concerns you so much. |

I thought id quote you on this first just to display how far from grasping any point you actually are. AO968 So, why do you feel the need to tell us what we can and cannot (or should and should not) do? If your profile is correct, you don't even live here. Even if South Africa has problem with what we do, it doesn't affect you in any form or way, so I don't understand why this concerns you so much.. Zsy- Feel the need? We are on an online forum in a thread about the topic. It does not matter that I do not live there, or if it affects me directly, poverty does not only affect people that are fighting to solve it, it is a good thing that they are fighting it whether they themselves are in poverty or not. AO968- By stating I support this because I have no sex life, you're attacking (or, at the very least, trying to discredit) me on false presumptions, purely based on where I come from. That's why I called you out on it. Zsy- Yes I did make a joke at your expense but not to make my argument any more solid as you said or even to discredit you, it was a joke made within the context nothing more made in another post.. AO968- Anyway, I still don't see why you're making such a fuss over this. Prostitution is legal here, it's on a consensual basis, it's safe (because this practice probably wouldn't have lasted this long if all their instructors and their clients got STDs), and people don't have to do it if they don't want to (you CAN still pay with money, after all). AO968- can see this being a reason for people to consider it if they absolutely need a drivers license, but can't raise enough money to pay for driving lessons. However, I also don't think anyone would just hop in the car and do 'it' with a complete stranger. To me, this seems like a solution for the truly desperate among us, and I believe people are free to choose whatever they do with their lives (or their bodies, for that matter). Zsy- I would be alarmed if no one disagreed with this which a lot of people as displayed do disagree, it is degrading and a country should look for better ways to assist its people . People are not allowed to do drugs, most places prostitution is illegal, and assisted suicide is illegal, So we are already not allowed to do whatever we want even if it does not affect others, but surely the whole context of discussion explains how degrading and other reasons that this is not the best solution and is wrong. I will refer to my previous comment which I think already explains this. “”Zsy- I am displaying how absurd it Is, not how I think it’s about to become a norm anytime soon. Chances are if they have access to a vehicle then a drivers licence does not seem financially unreachable to these people, they need to learn to save, stop being lazy, shortcuts are no good.
