Lupa your answer is the answer to the riddle of the Spinx. It is similar but that one is what walked on 4 legs at birth, then two, and ends walking on three. Which is crawling, walking, and using a cane. This riddle has the same number but in a different order.

Naturally I suppose this one could be based on the same foundation...

Exactly. Considering it is from an anime, it probably uses a gimmick exclusive to the series, but the solution should still be a human being.

The Sphinx has two famous riddles, and this is not one of them. It is, instead, one variation of the 4-2-3 riddle solved by Oedipus. I hope the solution to this riddle is actually clever, I'll be pretty disappointed if it's something like "X character from that anime/history" or if it involves stereotypes like being married.

Another variation of same answer:

Woman:
Single - 2 legs
Pregnant - 4 legs( depends on the number of babies)
Old-age - 3 legs.

Well, all I did was describing the riddle's history. Maybe the riddle itself is the answer.

The Sphinx has the body of a lion (four legs), and the head of a human (two legs). Thing is, I have no idea how you can make it three legs from that.

Oedipus himself was a human (two legs). I think that at the end of the legend he is blind, so in theory he'd walk with the help of a cane/walking stick (three legs), but I have no idea how he can have four legs between that.

Any ideas?

He did that after finding that he had killed his own father I believe. Well, I still can't figure out where the four legs come from.

Google:
It seems Oedipus killed his father(unintentionally) and married his mother and had 4 children, upon realizing this his mother hanged herself and Oedipus blinded himself using 2 pins from his mother's dress.

The only thing resembling the number 4 is the number of children.

I seriously don't like to google stuff to solve a riddle, I think it should be based on common knowledge.

I'm not sure how mentioning the name of the anime helps it?
Is the name of the anime Zankyou no Terror?( no I didn't google this, got it from MAL)

@el yes the name of the anime is zakyou no terror but you still havent got the thing for 4 legs right if you want to learn just watch the anime there is a real good explanation for it in the anime but it wont be as satisfying as finding it yourself :D Also Cuz the answer of the riddle is the plot of one of the episodes

So I just went to watch the anime. Apparently it's because the act of killing his own father and marrying his own mother makes Oedipus a beast. Beasts walk in four legs, so that's where the four legs come from.

Meh.

Sure, have a simple one that I just made up

There's a merchant that, during full moon days, sells silver for $35 each gram, platinum for $54 a gram and gold for $82 a gram. When it's not full moon, silver is sold by $47 a gram, and platinum by $78 a gram. With that said, calculate the price of gold for each gram during not-full-moon days.

My friend just told me this exact same riddle today, except that it had to be 12 instead of 10 and trees instead of balls O.O

But the answer to this one must be:
- Draw a pentagon.
- Draw lines from each corner of the pentagon to every other corner.
- Place a ball at every corner / intersection.

Ok, so there is 2 blue hats and 2 red hats.
3 men has each been given either one of the blue or red hats and are standing in line facing the same direction, as indicated by these arrows:
-> -> ->

The 3 men doesn't know the color of their own hat, but they know the initial number of blue and red hats, and they can see the color of any hats that are in front of them in the line. They are then asked the color of their hat and they must answer without turning around or looking at their own hat. Who is the first to answer the question?

Middle one.
Reason-
The last one can't answer, so he will be quiet, implying middle has a red hat.

The Middle one is the first to call it out his hat color

-The most left can see both of the hats, but he does not call out, because the two following hats are different colors

-The middle one can see the color of the hat on front of him. Therefore he understands there is color X in front of him, but as he does not hear the left guy call out, he eventually comes to the conclusion that the two hats on front of the left guy are of different colors. And since he knows the hat on front of him is color x (Here x=blue), then he must be using the hat color y (Y= Red)

Sadly, with this setting, the guy on the right will never know his hat color :(

Betcha that will be the end of him.

And now I'm going to be the jerk to say that I knew this one (And I was actually going to use this one if I ever got a riddle right, but now I don't quite have anything)

Find x.

Hmm angle ADB must be 50 and angle AEB must be 40 (simple trigonometri).
I also know that the sum angle DEA (aka X) and angle EDB must be 110

Now, we can find X if we find angle DEB and subtract angle AEB. We can find DEB by using 2 equations with 2 unknowns:
1. EDB + DEA = 110
2. EDB + DEB + 30 = 180

Ok apparently I can't :/
I'm stuck for now.. do you need more than 2 equations :O? Or maybe sinus or cosinus

Actually, the drawings make way more sense if:

x = 40
y = 70
t = 100
a = 60

But the values I suggested at the picture also fit, so I guess both solutions are valid?

@lupa The solution you posted is wrong.

The part you got wrong is simple arithmetic mistake.

t+x=140
t+110-y=140

If you subtract,
x+y=110

If you add,
2t+x-y=170

Not sure how you got
x=30+y
Hint to solve:
Make some extra construction, you can't solve without making a new construction.

Even if you say it is wrong, if you check the picture with the values I suggested, you'll notice that they match perfectly. I'm interested in looking at some proof that proves the values I suggested are invalid, because I am really trying to find something incompatible and so far it all seems to fit.

All the values will fit, even x=70 will fit, but as you see the diagram is drawn to scale, which makes it impossible.
So the conclusion we can derive is that, you are missing a constriction to get a single solution.
As I said earlier, hint is to make a construction.
By making construction you will rule out the incorrect solution.
