| Overlord is an all right series so far, but I get the feeling that there is no direction in the story, like an overarching goal? I understand that Ainz wants to take over this fantasy universe but these events don't seem significant enough to impact it, this episode in particular just felt like filler. I hope I will be proven wrong in the next episode especially after that cliffhanger. |

| I knew the Wise King would not be that much of a threat, but still expected it to be somewhat of a challenge and then this giant hamster shows up and I burst out laughing. Yeah, Ainz isn't gonna be challenged by anyone, that much is now certain. |

Finding them is his primary motivation, but mostly, he wants to feel like he did back in those days. His goals in order of priority: Protection of Nazarick. Since his guild mates left, Momonga worked to preserve Nazarick so they could have a place to meet again. Right now, he lacks information and allies from this world so he feels it is safer to keep it secret. Information. Lots and lots of it. Places, people, monsters, magic, items... Everything. To achieve that, he sent some guardians (you'll hear more about this later) and is acting as an adventurer, believing that achieving the higher ranks will give him access to information. Spreading the name Ainz Ooal Gown so his friends can find him. As said earlier, right now he doesn't have enough info to feel it is safe. That's why he's using the name Momon instead of Ainz. When Momon will be renowned as a great hero and he knows enough about the world, he can easily reveal himself as Ainz Ooal Gown and achieve this goal. As for the filler feelings, you have to understand a lot is being set-up but the anime will not be able to cover everything. The light novel is ongoing with 9 volumes released so far. This anime will likely only cover 3. Madhouse did a faithful adaptation but that means those 13 episodes of anime cannot feel like a complete, self-contained story. Thanks for the info. To be honest, I can only wait for the anime to finish before I can judge Overlord, it's definitely an enjoyable series, principally because of the comedy/action rather than the fantasy/world-building. But there is one bit that really irks me. For any fantasy series like this, the hard part isn't writing a good climax or the main body of the story, it's the beginning and handling with exposition. There is no excuse for a poor setup, and in Overlord's case it's exposition isn't exceptionally well done, just basic narrative techniques, so I do sometimes get bored. That's why I find Rokka no Yuusha a tad more interesting because the setup for that show is, in itself, quite unique, using several mysteries to up the stakes and deliver seemless exposition at the same time. |

| Decent episode, got a good laugh when Hamsuke finally appeared. The cute voice and appearance just...had to laugh. ^^ Guess the next two episodes will wrap up Volume 2 and the last four will cover Volume 3...hopefully. (Don't want to miss my favorite parts. ^^) Really hope a season two comes... |

| Well, so the wise king of the forest is a giant hamster who talks like a samurai ? Awesome! It would be even more funny if it wouldve been a flying squireel fitting the name Momonga XD The others guys are really likable except that playboy dude but my fears that the guys will be killed might come true :( On a site note, is this adaption faithful to the LN or are they skipping alot ? |

It's doing a decent job, some details are left out and whatnot to save on time, but most of the important stuff is there. Would have been funny to hear Albedo's shout from the light novel when Ainz got hurt by the Holy Smite a few episodes back. ^^ Anywho, if you're liking the anime I recommend reading the light novel...seriously. (It's so freaking awesome) |
