Says it all for me. I didn't expect it at all and presumed maybe in a possible S2 if at all but it happened here. Her first big role. Highlight of the episode to me even more then Director's ansatsuken moves. Miyamori crying for her friend Shizuka finally getting a role throbbed my sensitive heart with feels especially when she covered her face behind the book. ❤

I had big alarms going off ever since the attitude of that editor. I ran into people like that before and they got something to hide. I am very glad he got exposed and gets demoted to edit grocery for sale papers. This episode reminded me of my complete dislike of bad adaptions and why some of them are so utterly... disappointing. Leaves me wondering if the same thing happens with many of the authors having little to no say or don't even know on their adaption to anime especially when they add bad things to them *cough*A-1 pictures*cough* or anything involved with Aniplex. I'm glad P.A Works put that scene in.

Touching. The girls finally get to work on a proper anime together. Aoi's feelings really got me.

The showdown between to creators was also epic, as was the scene where Nogame literally blew his editor away...

I just like how that last scene was more powerful to me than the entirety of Your Lie in April. Its a good anime but Shirobako executed that last scene very well.

Finally caught up until this episode.....

Have to say this is by far the best episode of Shirobako. Now, the last episode may surpass this, but it would be a tough one :-)

I laughed a lot during the scenes in the publisher building. Really great to see that the director could finally talked to Nogame-sensei directly, without any interruption at all.

Finally Zuka-chan got a job! About time as well!

The last scene... I have to say that I teared up a bit after the recording was done. Well executed and indeed quite powerful.

Now, only one more episode remaining, bring it on!

Maybe I'm over-sensitive, but I can't remember the last time I've full on cried tears of joy just from watching an anime or any other TV show or movie. I really feel for the characters in this show. Zuka saying her line, "I just got a step closer to my dream" + Miyamori crying for her and hiding behind her script did me in. Flawless execution indeed.

An absolute perfect ending to an already exceptional episode. An amazing job catching the viewers off-guard with the feels at the end. I went from smiling because of the director's success to tears before I could transition my emotions. Couldn't help but give an applause when the ED music started playing.

Rewatching this a week later and I cried again at the last scene, oi-chan's genuine suprise, shizuka's nod to her before she left to enter the recording rooms, the words she read, oi-chan hiding her tears and that shizuka's smile, everything about it was just beautiful

That's mostly because of the 1/5th rule. Since the states changed to 'Finished Airing.'

Just let me have this moment, haha.

I guess that makes sense, but I would figure most people on MAL haven't seen episode 24 yet, despite it being finished airing in Japan.

It didn't air yet, MAL has the date wrong or something, not to mention the change happen at the start of ending date not after the final episode finishes airing. I think.

Ah. Well, technicalities aside, and even though the numerical rating doesn't mean much, it's still kind of nice to see it jump like that. Shirobako is a great show and I think it really delivered for the people that stuck with it. Definitely did for me.

Yeah, I know. Same for me. It was a strong 9 with a chance of being a favorite, but after the recent episodes, especially this one, it ended up as one.

This episode was Shirobako's greatest triumph yet.

“thank you for saving me, aerial girls” really carries a double meaning for Zuka doesn't it?

"I'm not attacking you, I'm just practicing my golf drives, at you, very hard, and repeatedly, and stop dodging them."

That has to be my favorite line of the year

Kantoku has been tricked and kidnapped! Ruining such a good dinner with staffs...haha
On the 1st part Chazawa was being an smartass villain.
With this...Kantoku is in a state of denial because if they follow the author, it will definitely be anti-climatic.
At least Hiraoka shared some experiences about other Studios animating the other works of Nogame-sensei and it was an abomination adaptation!
President of Musashino Animation, Masato Marukawa had a motivational talk with Kantoku that results in playing like kids circling around the table "Take off!" and Kantoku reached up to Kunogi and questioned he to which destination, as usual Kunogi wouldn't know how to answer!
Honda's skinny self payed a visit to troubled Kantoku and they noticed on the letter pof Nogame-sensei his direct email contact. Luckily the response was quick!
I laughed out loud the moment I saw Kantoku in a cowboy outfit! and also he tripped! haha!
The execution of Kantoku while entering the whole building seems that he faces many boss opponents and he still thrusts forward! haha Cool! but because of that...at last Kantoku finally met directly with the author Nogame Takezou.
Their discussion was awesome! and Kantoku found a different situation because of the brainstorming with the author.
BWAHAHAH! Chazawa-san finally got what he deserve! and what's more, you could feel the wrath of the author's upset with his useless editor!
Nogame-sensei texted directly to Kantoku and was touched by the new planned storyboards.
Miyamori Aoi was super surprised because she didn't knew that Shizuka would be finally also be a part of the Voice Actresses as Lucy! Looks like all five of them are now together in one project! Dat Miyamori very sweet cry of happiness!

LMAO the glasses girl was awesome. The best way to deal with director for sure.

Why do these characters do awkward things yet it doesn't feel cringeworthy? Lol at that director and old guy imitating planes.

Nogame's editor got what he deserved. I loathe that guy and his little buddies, srsly. I would throw him off the floor of the tallest building. Kantoku was cool there, that belly rocks. I don't hate Nogame anymore, he was kept in the dark after-all. Glad that Nogame and Kantoku hit it off. loled a bit at the sudden lil sister idea but true it would leave impact on viewers (damn now I want to watch Aerial Girls anime)

The momen they suggested Lucy's VA... I was like *breathes heavily* SAKAKIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII I AM SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!!!!!!!!!!! Srsly I am so sooo soooooo happy for Sakaki. It's been a while I have been this happy. Maybe months.

Dat Lucy is perfect. Dat Aria is perfect. This anime is perfect. Aoi crying for Sakaki made my heart break and warm at the same time, dunno such a weird feeling.

11/10

I just realized that the girls are finally working together at the same place. Their dream of making an anime together came true, guys!

It's not just that. The anime teaches us that you don't have to reach your goal the exact way you planned. Hang in there, mold your surroundings with your ideas, and you can still reach your dreams.

Man I love that.

An interesting point having rewatched the episode is that it's been shown what makes Miyamori only has shown passion to those she finds heart felt depending on how the scene/show are like with Andes Chucky. So this particular episode illustrates that not only was Miyamori moved to tears but it was by her own friend Shizuka's performance as Catherine's imouto that did it and her struggle to get an audition wrapped into one.

Those Miyamori tears at the end of the episode were the accumulation of everything that has happened so far. No one worked harder than Miyamori to make the 3rd Girls' (and at the same time, Shirobako anime) a success.

Miyamori never forgot the dream of making an anime together with her friends in her club. And while she worked tirelessly towards that goal, all the while it looked as if the dream would have to wait for a long, long time. Yet through a turn of unexpected and difficult events, all the blocks of the jigsaw fell into the right places and Shizuka got that role of Lucy. I felt the weight behind every drop of her tears as it was pouring down her cheek.

Great episode. While I really enjoyed the anime after picking it up from episode 6, it has always been a good show. But episode 23 pushed it to another level and I think it deserves a lot of credit for that as I think this anime has been really underrated. As such I have decided to push my ratings for the show to a solid 9/10. :)

Cowboy VS Yakuza & the OST was awesome. Laughed the whole way, at least once for Kantoku's entrance & trip, another when realizing it's not Aoi/Kantoku's delusions, but a real Infiltration Operation lolz.
Plot negotiation between Kantoku & "God" was thoughtful & tense. Felt real creative souls.
"Henna hanashi janai!!!"

I expected Zuka to get a named role, but couldn't predict how as Aerial Girls production/story gradually settled, her future seemed bleak. The Lucy & Aria dialogues reflecting Zuka's feelings, 23 episodes of the VA's tribulations, Aoi's wonderful emotional outburst for her friend, fit so perfectly it made me forget all hope, be surprised of Lucy role, try not to cry, cry an ocean.

What PA Works did great was also the nonverbal communication between Aoi & Shizuka. They reveal so much genuine feels with the few eye contacts & Aoi's dumbfounded expression, the weight lifting off Aoi, & Shizuka's growing experience & confidence providing her strength.

That was...beautiful, truly beautiful. I began grinning when I realized Zuka was gonna voice Catherine's sister, but the actual scene was so emotionally powerful. My reaction ended up mirroring her own, and Aoi's, tears and all. To say nothing of the first half of the episode and the director's amazingly humorous crowning moment of awesomeness. One more to go!

I wish that she had been told all that time ago that she'd been shortlisted for Catherine's role, and that she was the director's favorite even though the casting group overruled him. It could have saved her a lot of depression in the meantime, but poor Zuka's suffering all this time only made her vindication that much sweeter.
