So you'd consider that an anime while anime-influenced cartoons such as Teen Titans and Avatar: The Last Airbender/Legend of Korra aren't? How about this cartoon which is heralded as the Middle East's first anime? : http://www.animenewsbriefs.com/anime-2/get-a-taste-of-middle-easts-first-anime-torkaizer/ there are multiple accepted definitions of what an anime is, but personally, i've grown so accustomed to how the MAL database works, that my definition of anime is the same definition MAL uses; so for me, those titles you mentioned are just 'anime-influenced' also i'd like to note that there are many japanese kids shows i've confused for being western productions, because they were aired alongside western cartoons (like Nils Holgerson and Pinnochio) now i consider those to be anime :^) |

| Of course this is anime, even if its based off American animation. What's the big deal anyway? Is it that complicated to understand? |

| Thoughts: It's anime. I don't like it. I heard PPG was introduced to the Japanese market as is, but flopped. Probably because its winning qualities are its humour and American culture references, which wouldn't make much sense in Japan. Hence the re-creation... But Z is sort of boring, and except for character designs and names, doesn't keep much from the original. |
