Satisfied with the ending, but that's mainly because of that last 2 second you know. Anyway, the beginning wasn't really interesting, but after a certain point near the mid-series, it really hooked me up. I'm glad I picked it up back then, although not a super enjoyable series throughout the whole run, I'm really satisfied with what I got. And with this ending, I'm pumped up for next season!

This show got pretty boring after the first few episodes, then got better, and kind of wavered back and forth along the way, but I stuck with it. I'll bump it up to a 7/10 I guess. It's nothing special, but it wasn't really bad either.

Well it was over all a very well done adaptation. Better than most LN to anime adaptations out there.

I'm not gonna nitpick about the censoring anymore. I just gotta accept that it's airing on NHK-e and leave it at that. I have the novels to read anyway.

Pretty surprised about the next season announcement. But I worry about the content a bit. But hey, if it means an early Volume 8 release then I'm cool.

I loved both LH and SAO (the LN) for very different reasons and I'm glad LH is getting the cred it deserves.

Oh, and P.S.... Stop trying to wish for more action from a series that doesn't focus much on it anyway and is actually better because of it. How many times do we need to reiterate it anyway?. Geez....

damn, Nureha is too hot and sexy...her race really is perfect for her personality...sly, seductive, possessive and cunning, imo, she is a perfect foe/match for Shiroe...but well, i think we still haven't seen what the two of them can really do...

uugghhh, can't wait for season 2!

That was a fine show. The world building was amazing, unfortunately I wasn't a great fan of the characters, especially the younger ones who I think got too much focus, and made this anime a bit too childish. I also think there could be more and better action sequences.

I think my main issue with this episode is the pacing and extensive plot reveal. The last four episodes have more less been about developing a harem for shiroue and somewhat developing the ladies. However this episode drops more plot related details then the episode explaining the various degrees of magic. Has shiroue been making progress about finding a way out of the world? I thought his last big revelation was understanding the health ,mana, and magic. Then this new villain appears explaining she is the dictator of the west and wants him. Fine but why was every single piece of information presented now including the things shiroue already knew that are extremely debate considering the ban on information trading mentioned in their conversation. Shiroue seems deeply offended by her actions and instantly seem to be going to retribution. So he is leaving akihabara dispute the last ten episodes showing he is needed there to what? Find out next season. This episode seems really rushed and now I am wishing the season had ended on the defeat of the goblin king arc.

So they piddled around for several episodes with this festival thing, and then throw in a new character 5 min before the end. I hate shows that do that. Hopefully Akutsuki doesn't continue to get Asuna'd in the 2nd season

Really great episode! Shiroe is just an endlessly cool character with seemingly no end of tricks and real solutions to sticky problems in that brain of his!

And that 90th level Scribe sub-class/trade/crafting skill is coming in handy a lot after all, and after his brain, may be his best asset.

That was dam good! Nureha sure is foxy~
What Shiroe said to her was pretty romantic in a way, about being able to give her what she wants by being her enemy XD

I haven't watched many MMORPG anime's but this definitely has to be the best, lots of work into to this; how game logic implemented to this world, politics and all were very detailed.

One of the best Winter shows.

9/10, scratching the surface of 10/10.

EDIT: Never mind I loved how they ended the season, this left me wanting more! I can't wait to see what happens next! So..10/10!

I don't know why people rate this show low, I think it deserves better. At first I expect kick-butt action which it first imply but then the show shifted to a more non violent setting introducing politics, trade, invention and my favorite rule breaking world changing magic.

The whole episode's point is to give people a hint of a second season which is uncommon (don't get me wrong I was expecting a blockbuster ending myself but this one works for me as well). New world, new enemies, new adventures. Who knows whats next?

Story pacing was good, Art awesome, Music perfect fit. This is one of the series that I really enjoy this winter season. 10/10.

Feel like watching 25 episodes worth of prologue -_-" Not that I mind the pacing, but seeing how majority of the anime ended up, log horizon might end up being a shitty anime with the story hardly getting anywhere if the producers are going to just stop at season 2.

FUCK YES! SEASON 2! I was about to cry when the ED song started playing because I knew this show was going to end.

Alright, I thought buying the Guild Hall was a stupid oversight the developers forgot to restrict in the game, but buying the friggin CATHEDRAL?! How the hell do you not block that option? So if you die without being allowed in the list, you'd be transported to a Cathedral god knows where? Wow, Nureha is a sly vixen. I wonder why she's so obsessed with Shiroe though; was her "story" really true?

Shiroe reminds me of Hachiman from OreGaIru, who in turn reminds me of Batman. He isn't afraid to play the bad guy as long as it benefits his friends and to the prosperity of the town.

So instead of just returning to their world, they plan to change the world of Elder Tale? That's a real tall order there, Shiroe. So what's their first stop, Minami?

Ugh, Fall 2014 is so far off. Think the reason I liked this show so much is that it puts more emphasis on the actual game itself and the players, rather than DEATH GAME, DON'T DIE elements.

It's nice and all that there's a second season but, I'm both sad and happy that it's going to be produce by NHK.

The Good

No need to worry about budget, as long as there is materials, they will continue to animate it in a good pace.

The Bad

Censored/Cut to oblivion.

How does Shiroe know Nureha???

I'm going to assume she was in the same guild that Shiroe was in before they got stuck in the game.
I'm quite sure Shiroe was well known for being guildless before the apocalypse. Also, he told her he doesn't remember her. I'm quite sure he has no reason to lie about that.

Cant wait to find out whats the way for them to get out of the game.

Shiroe is and awesome MC and i just love how he always remain level minded to solve situations.

Which made it all the more interesting when he flipped the map after the random disturbances in Akiba completely frustrated him. xD Then he gets a stroke of inspiration to send an army of Soujiro fangirls to deal with the problem. xD

My god finally. Shiroe finally gets a decent female character. A pity that he rejected her, but Nureha is dimensions ahead of all the other female characters in both design and character depth. Even Crusty with his lazy commoner princess's got nothing on a fox lady that rules half of Japan with intellectual prowess that rivals Shiroe's.

Expecting great things from second season.

I believe it was mentioned in the original novel that Shiroe did know Nureha; high level solo Enchanters being as "rare as an Iriomote cat" anyway. I strongly suspect that the anime staff purposely had Shiroe lie about not previously knowing Nureha just to throw her off-balance. He's the type of person to do that after all.

shiroe copied the letter with his skill.
the maid gave him the letter to read, then he proceeded to copy the letter while the others talk and pwned to him afterwards.

Great anime overall. Enjoyed most of it, though it would've been better without the stupid love triangles and harem building towards the end. Hopefully the 2nd season wont go into that stuff any further.

well, for me SAO failed mainly at one point as an anime about MMORPG:

in such a game you can not win if you are a solo player. all the endbosses and raids are done in a group of players. the main interaction of players is not mobbing and hunting, but interaction in partys, guilds and raids.
if SAO were a story about people stuck in another dimension (and we leave out the whole setting that it is a game), then it would have been probably more befitting the theme. but it was an anime made about MMORPGs, which in my opinion should include and explain in game terms and in game life. if the anime do not include it, then it has failed.

this is why i like LH more, since it is actually an anime about the world itself, not about a random solo-player.

i could also go on and rant about the MC, but i dont bother with it for now.

I loved the show and I didn't mind or notice the pacing. However, I think that has a lot to do with the fact that I waited for the show to finish and was able to marathon it all (I did it all in one day...). If I was watching it weekly, I could see myself getting annoyed with how half of the scenes are of paperwork.

And I definitely love the introduction of Nureha. Finally a female character that has some depth and an actual "villain" or semi-antagonist that has some depth to her. I have no experience with the Log Horizon world but I'm guessing that she is actually the female Tea Party leader that Shiroe keeps envisioning throughout the first season. And I think that the reason that the Tea Party split up and scarred Shiroe is that she must have betrayed or done something once everyone (especially Shiroe) gave her his full trust.

Anyway, I can't wait for the second season this fall. I wonder if their next ED could possibly surpass this season's :) The SAO vs LH battle is just beginning.

No, She's not Kanami, Nureha is Nureha, one of the Level 90-not guild affiliated-Enchanter, which is akin to Shiroe. Kanami's class before the apocalypse was a Swashbuckler

Kanami being simply Kanami, disbanded DTP because she was Busy with IRL stuff, there are no deeper meaning to that because she's Kanami, the one who keeps "dragging" DTP all around The Server because she wants to. And there's only one player that was "scarred" by the disbandment, and that wasn't Shiroe (look forward to season 2).

Shiroe was scarred even before Kanami asked him to join DTP, He never like how people is just using him for granted since he's the guy with the most knowledge about quests. Heck, Kanami was the whole reason he opens up to players again, and main factor that he decided to make the guild Log Horizon.

Kanami as her Japanese server character is not logged in, BUT in a side story which Kanami is the main character she was also in the game after the apocalypse, but in a different server. Main point of the story is Kanami trying to make it back into the Japanese Server.

You misunderstood it. In Log Horizon's context, a Solo player means that he/she is not affiliated to any guilds and always quits the party after everything is done. They are mostly mercenaries. Yes, some hunts monster alone, but they cannot stand a chance against bosses at the same level. So, there are no "OP Solo Players" in LH.

Thank you for straightness, probably case of bad subs.

Still I would like to add to avoid misunderstandings, by op player I don't mean they are able to do solo everything, I mean they are able to do solo more than casual players. How much more? Depend on the type of game.

It's just too slow to watch it week by week. Watching 3-4 episodes in one sitting is more enjoyable in comparison.

SAO only goes skin-deep for game mechanics but explains them nicely with a less cluttered user interface. Log Horizon on the other hand is better at focusing more on the macroeconomics part of MMORPGs.

I'm not sure what MMORPGs you play, but Log Horizon is a better reflection of games that are designed to depend on and be highly driven by a player economy.

I like how there is less focus on beating a death game, and more focus onto finding a way to live in that world and also to find their way home in the process.

Yeah but that may be difference between them, sao turned into weird drama lh into boring slice of life.
I prefer sao because of 1st half and family episodes, which reminds me a lot and bring emotions. lh has something like that too, but for me it's a bit dry.

Actually, there are overpower skills in LH, but you will not know about them in season one, but in season two. The players that do know the skill, don't like using the skills because it makes it boring.

Other than that, It's best for you to wait for season two to find out since it's part of Akatsuki as she deals with her internal conflict.

Was actually quite good , I came into this expecting something quite bad , but was pleasantly surprised.

Nureha seems like quite an interesting character as well , looking forward to season 2.
