| I was really looking forward to this, but I'm disappointed. Disappointed that this is only 5 minutes long. Why, oh why must this be 5 minutes long? The comedy was pretty funny and the narration. Oh god, the narration totally killed me off. And the king was so damn random with picking the heroes. The ending was great too. 5/5 for the episode. |

Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them? I wonder how long people would put up with this. As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series. |

Who gives a shit about animation in a comedy in the first place as long as it's decently animated? But even putting that aside, you are obviously for some reason biased to not give this show a chance, the animation is just as good as many non-short shows airing, it's not terrific, but good enough. Do you even know in the first place what the style of the actual web-manga is? I only read the first chapter, but it's pretty messy, that's the style, it's supposed to look slightly amateurish, the comedy it proposes DOESN'T fit with high quality animation, it would feel weird. It's not like sharper more defined and detailed keyframes and smoother animation makes a show instantly better, you need to level the animation and the contents (which is why lots of gag manga have that sloppy art and style, like say Gag manga biyori). Most mangakas use SOL comedy as just a way to run away from real comedy. When an artist can't think of any good jokes, he justs inserts bland SOL segments with superficial romances or unnecesary fanservice, etc. There is a way to make good SOL comedy, like Azumanga, and minami-ke, and maybe even GJ-bu this season, but most fail miserably. A comedy should be comedy, the contents should serve so it can be funnier, the end of a joke should open the path for another joke. Now, yama no susume is definitely going for a more defined approach in the art, which reflects on the animation, so yes, you might say "it looks better". But that doesn't make it any better as a show. In the first place it's not even close to senyuu in any regard, except the fact that they are both short anime, so it makes no sense to compare them in the first place, since one is a comedy, while the other one is a SOL drama. About mangirl, opinions. I can't even remember if there was supposed to be a joke in the first two episodes I watched, I certainly don't think I 've laughed while watching it. | I actually ... thought this was pretty hilarious LOL XD I wasn't expecting much, but the tongue-in-cheek humour is the kind of stuff I love ;P Pretty cute designs and animation as well. Really nice animation scenes sometimes (the dragons, ED sequence) and yeah, the ED was all right. I'll probably keep watching this because it's short and funny so far ;P |
