Awww, so sweet. And right when Yamato and Mei have one of the "purest" relationships in this manga, Nagi says he's been attacked by Mei XD

Best episode yet. And I thought last week's episode was good.

I love how Mei has such a natural ability to move people with her words. I found the final scene with Mei and Nagi sleeping in each other's arms very touching.

I'm so very very glad I didn't drop this show. People who simply dismiss shoujo anime for being shoujo are really missing out.

I think too much shy girls like Kurosawa's sister have the same problem.

In other things I really like how the cats look:

But is more cute when is a dog and a cat.

Another lovely episode!!
I smiled the whole time.
It was really funny when Kurosawa was making a ruckus over the phone about all and each of Kuro´s actions.

My favourite episode so far.

Adorable and heartwarming. I'm loving Mei's character development. Yamato is starting to grow on me. He's such an awesome brother to Nagi. I like how the girlfriend and the little sister (in law) get along at the end. :3

Love this show, love the OP. Ordered all the manga but may need to order the drama CD too just to get the opening theme song! 13 episodes is going to be awfully short, hard to believe it is almost half over, but I look forward to reading the manga after that and hope it will get another season.

This episode was great first because Nagi didn't see Mei as a romantic rival, very tired of the imouto oniichan thing.

I like how Mei and Yamato both stay in character, even though Yamato is a bit of a jerk for always leaving her in the middle of their dates whenever his friends call! They are using it as a plot device to get her to talk to the other characters but still, it shows he is not a perfect boyfriend, along with sleeping with another girl already... little touches are keeping it realistic for me.

If Mei and Yamato move in together they are going to have 100 cats! That would be a funny epilogue...

Imouto with a bro complex hehe

It was interesting to see the parallel childhoods between Nagi and Mei and using that as a link to connect. One thing about this show I find weird is in almost every episode, Kurosawa leaves Mei to do some BS and she gets major character development whether it be good or bad. I know he's trying to make her a little more independent but you'd think he would cherish her a little more.

Ah okay, a playboy with an introverted sister. It didn't make much sense to begin with.
And then again, Mei won the heart of the sister, everything happened so conveniently for her that it felt unrealistic and it was just a fantasy shoujo product.

_ A hot boy saved her from stalker
_ A hot boy kissed her after a few days of meeting in school and told her that he loves her
_ Right now that hot boy is sticking with her 24/7
_ He led her to his home, then she met his introverted sister. His sister is even cuter than she is. And she doesn't have any friends. All of her friends like to play console game, she was being left out cause she couldn't join them. WTF is that? Any sense?? Shitty reasons I've witnessed in a shoujo. And why didn't she make friend with other class mate? not 100% friends in her class are into console games.
_ Mei won her heart, Yamato falls for her even more. LOGIC????

Nevertheless, this show is clearly a fantasy shoujo fiction. Just throwing a bunch of kissing scenes and stuff, then you call that a success romance, people in MAL are easy to deal with.

That's one thing that I don't like about Sukitte: Mei just talks with people and bam! all their problems are solved and they're best friends. That and the "OMG he touched me! How perverted!".
It is still one of the better shoujo romances, imo, because the girl isn't a helpless, clueless, stupid, annoying cry-baby all the time.

And cats FTW.

Granted about the unrealistic part, but I don't expect my anime to be 100% realistic, and this time it seems OK for me, Nagi and Mei are alike, so of course, they would understand each other.

_ A hot boy saved her from stalker
_ A hot boy kissed her after a few days of meeting in school and told her that he loves her
_ Right now that hot boy is sticking with her 24/7

I like how you make as if none of those facts were actually connected. If he saved her from the stalker, that's because he was interested in her to begin with. And it's normal for a guy to stick a lot with his GF especially at the beginning of the relationship in case you didn't know.

_ He led her to his home, then she met his introverted sister. His sister is even cuter than she is

What does the sister being cuter has to do with anything else?

And she doesn't have any friends. All of her friends like to play console game, she was being left out cause she couldn't join them. WTF is that? Any sense??Shitty reasons I've witnessed in a shoujo.

Use a bit your imagination, this is a rather cliche situation, iit's not hard to understand why she would be left out in this kind of situation. Sounds like a 'forced' criticism.

And why didn't she make friend with other class mate? not 100% friends in her class are into console games.

Are you really that dense? Her other comrades probably didn't care about her.

_ Mei won her heart, Yamato falls for her even more. LOGIC????

Nothing surprising about it, in case you forgot while writing your post, Nagi is Yamato's brother, he didn't like seeing his sister in this state, of course he's gonna be grateful for the person who will help Nagi.

Nevertheless, this show is clearly a fantasy shoujo fiction. Just throwing a bunch of kissing scenes and stuff, then you call that a success romance, people in MAL are easy to deal with.

This show does more than just throwing a bunch of kissing scenes, but you're only focused of some shallow elements of this show to see the other obvious development.

His sister is cute, she's beautiful, adorable, can make cookies and things like stuffed animals. But, no friends except those console addicted retards. Logic? If it was IRL friends would surround her.

Granted about the unrealistic part, but I don't expect my anime to be 100% realistic, and this time it seems OK for me, Nagi and Mei are alike, so of course, they would understand each other.

What else do I need to confirm? unrealistic situations often lead to bad development.

Where that interests came from? A kick from his best friend as explained in episode 3.

What does the sister being cuter has to do with anything else?

Read my comment above. Cute = popular. Unless she's being bitchy so her friends stay away but I don't think so.

My imagination tells me that all of her class mates are addicted in console games, and only cares about gearing, playing games on nitendo, psp, so she was left out cause she doesn't play console games. IRL, only a minority of kid is like that. I would say less than 5%. By my imagination, all of her classmate have a console, so she was left out and didn't want to go to the class.
At an age like her, little girls would be interested in dolls, making things rather than console games.

This show does more than just throwing a bunch of kissing scenes, but you're only focused of some shallow elements of this show to see the other obvious development.

More than just kissing scenes = having sex, bitches drooling over a hot boy. Oh I see what u mean.

There are developments in this shit, but it was clearly nonsense from the start, like Mei called for help, then her prince came and gave her a kiss to get rid of the stalker. The next day she stalked her prince, at the end of the day she saw he came out of a Karaoke bar, gave her a few kisses then they officially became couple, rofl. These developments came after, I didn't see the logic. It's like kiss and love first, then development later.

Actually I think that's one of the points of this series. Yamato is enforcing the relationship, he's pushing it, Mei just goes along because she does like him, but doesn't know what to do, is too shy, isn't sure about her feelings, or whatever. Even though I myself get annoyed sometimes how extremely clueless she is - it is an interesting starting point that may lead to problems, development, etc later in the story.

LOL, are you the same guy that complained about the shallowness of some characters, because you're actually asking for mor with that post. Anyway, your complaint is laughable considering that we only saw a glimpse of her past. There could be so many reasons why she wouldn't have any other friends, maybe the others were too shy to get to her, maybe she wanted so much to be close to those console addicts kids that she didn't try to find other friends. I mean use your imagination to fill in the blanks before calling everything bad writing...

Cute=popular. LOL, what kind of dictionnary are you using? At her age, most children are cute, so who cares? And it's not necessarily because you are bitchy that you can't find some friends. Yamato's sister seems to be an introvert girl, so it's not surprising she wouldn't get many friends.

Your imagination is really limited then. It only means that the only people she was able to connect with were console gamers that took advantage of her, she lost a lot of confidence after that and probably didn't manage to make any other friend after. The other kids could also have said bad thing about her that isolates her more. I mean, come on, don't be such a butthurt, that was just a 5 minutes flashback.

Yeah, often, not always or else every anime would suck.

In this case, it sucks

Episode 3 explained also why this kick interest him, but maybe you didn't notice.

It just simply a kick. Then he talked a bulk of crap like he saw in her his otherself. So he sympathized with her, instead of interested in her, watch it again then speak to me.

Son, that would not be the case in here, those console retards aren't cute, they didn't wear nice clothes like her. And, she gave cookies to her friends to eat, with that kind of attitude I would say she's outgoing like her slutty brother. Her cookies are great, delicious, if she gave it to the whole class, friends would surround her cause she left good impression on them by her home-made cookies. And if she was an introverted girl like Mei, she wouldn't even bother making friends rofl. Not sure but your argument sounds very bad. Look at Mei, she's a typical introverted girl. She has no friends.

Your imagination is really limited then. rofl, 5min flashback then done, her arc is finished. Now she's back to being a lovely girl who share cookies recipes to Mei." It only means that" beside those retard console gamers, she has no other friends? Not sure friends in her class consist of that group of console gamers and only her, then I guess it makes sense. Hey how do you make friend in the first place rofl?
The ideal situation for this, is that she did something good to get praised by teachers, or popular with other male kids or being the cutest girl in class that make other girls in her class jealous + bad mouth and try to isolate her. Instead of be friend with a group of console gamers, cause simply, you don't need a brain to know that the only interested thing for them is console game, and obviously yamato's sister doesn't interested in it a bit.

I also didn't like the stalker thing. For the rest, you're bit delusionnal, they didn't really become a couple after the kisses scene.

Good, we agree on a thing. The rest, it's the truth. They became couple after yamato confessed by forcing her kiss, episode 3 they stick together like a lovey dovey married couple.

Maybe those other kids already had other friends, and just didn't bother talking to her, maybe those console addicts did everything to keep her with them. The number of possibility is almost infinite. She was a naive girl and really thought those kids cared about her. People can make mistakes especially young girl, she only notices that they used her pretty late.
It seems you are criticizing for the sake of criticizing. This kind of flashbacks are really recurrent in story. I really don't understand your complain about it.

I know a lot of introverted children that do have friends. It only means that they are not really outgoing, and thus, they are not the type of people who would give the whole class some home-made cookies if they are not asked to. She was naive and she was manipulated by those console addicts. But for a long time, she really thought they were her friends. That's all there is to say.

Did everything = sitting their eating her cookies and playing console games, this proves ur an idiot, rewatch the episode. They didn't do a thing to keep her with them. She was willing to be their friends. And, here comes the bad writing, she made friends with retards who don't want to be her friend, so the consequence was obvious that she was left a side.

Rofl, those console addicts aren't smart enough to manipulate her. Then again, rewatch the episode, do u believe that a kid who speak straight foward to a highschool-stundent like Mei, could let these kids manipulate her?

Dude, you didn't understand what I wanted to say with my post. Here, you're basically criticizing the show for something it didn't do. I just gave you some examples on how this situation could be possible, the show doesn't tell us exactly how she became friends with those guys, and why's that? Because we shouldn't give a fuck, this flashbacks was only there to show us that Yamato's sister had a bad experience with some of her friends, and because of that, she is now anti-social. Why are you overanalysing this flashbacks is beyond me.

2 days of knowing each other, a few encounter at school, several kiss then lovey dovey all the way. Shallow as its best.

You're probably more shallow than they are. They knew enough of each other to fall in love. Who cares about the number of days they spent together?

Dude, you didn't understand what I wanted to say with my post. Here, you're basically criticizing the show for something it didn't do. I just gave you some examples on how this situation could be possible, the show doesn't tell us exactly how she became friends with those guys, and why's that? Because we shouldn't give a fuck, this flashbacks was only there to show us that Yamato's sister had a bad experience with some of her friends, and because of that, she is now anti-social. Why are you overanalysing this flashbacks is beyond me.

The more you speak, the more nonsense you sound. The example you gave was stupid, retarded and didn't even based on the situation it showed in the anime, so it's not possible with your scenerio. It's not like 100% pp who don't give a fk, and I don't care whether u gave a fk or not.

Please do elaborate, because what you just said doesn't make any sense. I don't know how you can come to this kind of conclusion with what I just say.

As I have elaborated on my other post, unless you'r blind and didn't read them carefully.

Pp change in their emotion, not their IQ.

This should prove that 50% pp who watch sukkite care about that matter, and they all agree that char devs in sukitte are shallow as fk. who cares? PP care. The vote is not something I made up, unless ur *** to see it clearly.

Hibichouchou: It's impossible that someone who is cute, and who knows how to make cookies doesn't have any friends.

SetsukoHara: The sister doesn't have any friends because she may be shy, or because she really thought those console addicts were her friends and didn't look for others, or because those addicts wanted to keep her for them and prevent other kids to be her friends, or maybe because of a combination of those three things.

It ain't hard to tell what is the most retarded thinking between those 2.

Pp change in their emotion, not their IQ.

It might not be the case for you, but I'm definitely more intelligent now than when I was 5.People change and can become more or less supsicious through time.

LMAO, when people don't have any arguments left, they throw at you the famous: "See, other people are thinking like me, I can't be wrong." LOL, I guess the earth was really flat during the Middle Ages. Anyway, this poll doesn't prove shit, first, the question isn't neutral (see some manipulation theory, you can definetely influence the result of a poll). Second, only 100 people answered this poll. This is not representative of the audience of this show at all. It's like flipping a coin four times and saying it is rigged because you got 3 tails.

Try harder, bro!

I was talking about this part, which is bold
maybe those console addicts did everything to keep her with them

^ Its not possible cause it shown on the anime, that these console addicted kids didn't even try a single thing to keep her.

Nah I'm done arguing with a retard like you, the poll displays that if the anime there are people who watch the anime considering that char devs are shallow as well and I'm not the only one who can see that chars are shallow. Let's make this clear, it's not just me, but other as well. And when 50% of pp who participated on the poll vote yes, then the problem lies in the anime itself, it's not something I made up. Although it's not scientific stuff and can't be proved right or wrong, but we're on MAL, son, so I took it as my valid proof. And the poll proves my proof. Your argument sounds like: the survey was done in MAL, thus it is invalid, so why bothering joining MAL? Not all the surveys are 100% truth, but they give us some sort of useful information to predict accurately as possible.

see some manipulation theory, you can definetely influence the result of a poll

So the poll probably wouldn't exist if you can manipulate them, go to that thread and see ,did I do something to manipulate the results rofl ? PP aren't retard to let you manipulate them, if they are manipulated, then I believe it's them who believe in what they have been told. Go read some useful journal/articles in university, they use polls to analyze things. Never heard of great mind thinks alike? Let's just say I disagree on something, then one person stands up, has the same goal as me, and ask for support/call for vote. Would you say no?

FYI, the poll wasn't my idea, it was some strange guy on the Internet, but he sees things I see, so am I manipulated?

Second, only 100 people answered this poll. This is not representative of the audience of this show at all.

And, you make it sounds like you have to invite every one who watches sukitte to join the polls. Son, not all 100% America population vote for the president election. 100pp who participated on the poll are the only one who care about the anime enough to join the poll.

My arguments are shown as above. Rofl I'm not running out of arguments, but with all the arguments there, you wouldn't even understand so why say more than need to?

I wanted to say that they wanted to prevent others to be with her while they were using them. And anyway, this wasn't the only thing that I said to defend my position anyway...

For the rest, the question of this poll is biased, why isn't the thread named: Opinion on characters instead of Shallow Characters. Why didn't he ask, do you think the character of this show are interesting?

And this poll results are definitely not a good indication at all. Most people who watched this anime gave it a score of at least 8/10. So if we follow your logic, we can say that this show is actually really good.
See how stupid your "proof" sound.

Since when did I say that high score on MAL makes an anime really good? It's subjective, the score means nothing to prove whether an anime is good, or bad. I can easily enjoy an anime with a based score of 7.5. Don't apply your logic into me.
SAO has an average score of 8.58, so is it good? I don't think so. Don't sum me with one of SAO defenders, cause simply I'm not one of them.

But MAL ratings are a kind of poll, if you use the poll as a proof of the shallowness of the show, then I can use the average score (another kind of poll) as a proof of the quality of this show?

The shallowness of character is subjective(although it's the thing that pp have been complaining about - according to the poll results), and I used the poll results to show that I'm not the only one who feel the same when watching Sukitte.
Because, If I said the characters are shallow without proving the poll results, you sound like it's just me who feel that way.

MAL ratings can be right. Look at other good show like Berserk, Clannad, F/Z, Steins;Gate, Madoka, FMAB, Gintama, Monster, Legend of the galactic heroes, Cowboy Bebop, etc. The poll often displays the "suitable" score. SAO, Angel Beats and a few others are exception. By your logic that any other high rated shows on MAL are untrustworthy? I did say that scores mean nothing, cause whether you justify a show as good, or bad, is up to you. And, the score is subjective, it can be bad with you, but it also can be good with other people, so you can give whatever the score you want.

Take SAO for example, it has a high rating on MAL, means pp enjoy watching it. I think it's not that great, but there are pp who think SAO is good, overall it's just my perspective about SAO.

This was a great episode, I'm really loving this show so far. Although the entire Nagi part was done in less than one episode, so it barely made any impact over here. Nagi and Mei do really resemble each other though, it's almost scary.
I almost never read discussions after I made my post, if you want to reply PM me or post on my profile page.
