Ugh with all the fanservice though, can't they just give us a little bit of the sexytime between Araragi and Senjougahara? The one part where a bit of fanservice actually matters, they just skip right over it.. Oh and the Karen kiss too.. Not to mention the Ep 12 Bakemonogatari kiss.. |

What show are you watching? 'cause I think you're in the wrong forum. There's no doubt that gahara likes araragi, but the show drops subtle hints that she still has feelings for kaiki. Why exactly did she lock up araragi when she found out kaiki was in town? She is obviously trying to hide something. What reason does she have to drive kaiki out of town? It's not like she cares about the people kaiki was conning since she did say that "its their fault they got tricked." One of the first things gahara says to Kaiki is "I wanted to see you Kaiki-san." Also the way gahara brings up that araragi is her lover almost seems as if she wanted to make Kaiki jealous. The way kaiki reacted was kind of suspicious too, he seemed genuinely pissed/frustrated when he heard they were a couple. Throughout their conversation you'll notice little things. In one line gahara was like "that must be a lie too, if you didn't even remember me this morning," she says it in a way that seems like she wants him to deny it. And when he denies it, she acts all vulnerable saying "lies...it's all lies." When araragi was asking her about her crush on kaiki, she answers him but notice that she never once looks at him when she talks. You usually see the strong side of gahara, but when she talks with kaiki, you can see how much weaker she seems. After being insulted by Kaiki, notice how hurt she seems, almost like someone who had their heart broken, or someone who just had a breakup. So in conclusion, what I believe is that she still had feelings for kaiki, and the reason she locked araragi up is because she didn't want him to find out. There's no reason to believe that she isn't a virgin or that araragi wasn't her first . She had feelings for kaiki and I believe it was more than just a simple crush and she is ashamed of these feelings hence the reason for everything she is doing. |

There's no reason to believe that she isn't a virgin or that araragi wasn't her first . She had feelings for kaiki and I believe it was more than just a simple crush and she is ashamed of these feelings hence the reason for everything she is doing. While you gave more reasoning than a certain troll your logic is still flawed or perhaps better worded and said would be that you are looking to much into it. I'll buy that once upon a time Senjougahara admired or had at best a crush on Kaiki because he was the very first person who tried to help her, but when he coned her she hated him, which like you said is the trampling of the heart; why he did this is perhaps no more than the fact that he is a con man, but if he liked her or more believably found her interesting than perhaps theirs more to it. Regardless of all these things, this was in the past and i think its safe to say whatever she felt is dead in the water; or do you think her planning to kill him with pencils was a bluff? from what we have seen of her character, that was no bluff, and like i said it was only due to Araragi that Kaiki is still breathing right now (which is ironic, since both of them could have killed him, not just Senjougahara). Also like you said there is NO reason to question her virginity being taken this episode since she said it herself (all though with reluctance since she wanted to toy with Araragi more that she wasn't) that she is indeed a virgin, or at least was back in Bakemonogatari. Also the troll's comments from before that she just did it to cover her feelings for Kaiki are bull because if you watched Bakemonogatari at all you would see she wanted to do it with him since episode 12 but was afraid her trauma would get in the way; so Kaiki insulting her aloud her two things which shut down your theory. 1.Aloud her to get over the attempted rape, which is the only reason she waited till now to do it with Araragi. 2.Aloud her to get over any possible feelings which she (your words not mine, thus disproving your own theory) is ashamed of, which she said after words that she is glad that Araragi saved her and not Kaiki. Its like having a locked room with the possibility of having a diseased creature inside; you never go into the room because you don't want to see the creature right? so in this case she just burned down the whole freaken room; and i'm sure you can relate who Kaiki is in that scenario; she never even touched upon the room thus to say she was thinking about it was zero; the only reason she had trouble was her past trauma which was more due to the 1st reason than then the 2nd. She was disgusted by the very thought that if Kaiki saved her she might have had genuine feelings, last time i check disgust doesn't go hand in hand with lingering feelings; she hates him period. Oh and side note i highly doubt that Kaiki liked Senjougahara to any extent, like i mentioned perhaps he was interested like he mentioned several times this episode; However from his interest in Kanbaru's house, it wouldn't surprise me considering his age if he liked Kanbaru's mom. Another little side note; this happened (the curse and meeting Kaiki) during Junior high right (or middle school) do you honestly think that feelings from that age match feelings from her now? its simple logic if you think about it, with age usually comes maturity or at the very least experience in knowledge thus evolving how people feel, would you compare your possible feelings to a middle schooler (assuming you aren't one), no you wouldn't; its a little detail but it counts since you are nitpicking into reactions that show no meaning as the basis of your little theory. As i said crush would even be conceding ground here because it is possible it wasn't even a crush since feelings at the age are hard to interpret; but to say its something like love or what she feelings for Araragi now is irrational. Hopefully this settles this little stupid theory because in all honestly its more lame than the Shinobu craziness people had during that bath episode; this is really just stupid trolling, the only reason i even answered this one is because you generated some reasoning for it so i felt i should at least disprove it. |

Ok, a few people are talking about how Araragi-kun could of done better in that fight, but keep in mind a handful of episodes earlier in the series he said he didn't want to fight them because he was afraid that he would kill them. He isn't trying to win, he's trying to placate his sister so she can get some much needed aggression out. Also, as someone else stated, he is true justice as compared to his sisters "playing hero" justice in that scene. In the end true justice comes to terms with being average compared to the other and triumphs. |

In all honesty, I can't exactly say I've been pleased with the Karen Bee story arc. The plot of the story arc was fine and was right on par with some of the other story arcs in Bakemonogatari. The main problem was that the arc was just so horribly paced and excluded Karen from most of the scenes. So instead of developing her character throughout the arc and making her the driving force of the story, she basically served as a reactionary element to further the plot along. It's kind of unfortunate really, seeing as Karen's upbeat personality along with her childish sense of justice is something that you don't see in a lot of female characters these days. All in all the Karen Bee story arc was the most inconsistent story arc that we have seen in the series so far. With a very awkwardly paced beginning which served no purpose other than to give the other heroines some screentime, a slow middle full of plot development and an engaging resolution, it's hard to know how Shaft will handle Tsukihi's story arc. While this arc was nothing that we haven't seen before in terms of plot events, it still did manage to introduce some great characters to the series. Hopefully we'll be seeing more of Karen and Kaiki in the future as their presences really adds to the story. |

I do not get this.. so Kaiki's curse was just a lie? Then if it was a lie, why they have to wait for 3 days like he said since that "curse" did not exist for the first moment. |

KyonSmith said: I do not get this.. so Kaiki's curse was just a lie? Then if it was a lie, why they have to wait for 3 days like he said since that "curse" did not exist for the first moment. She was afflicted with a fever because Kaiki, from what I gathered, put her in a hypnotic trance. Three days might mean the trance would wear out or the existence of the supernatural Bee would start to crumble as since it's very origin is a falsehood. Kaiki's whole angle was to use the power of belief to stage an event as if it were real. He manipulates people and alter their reality by altering their beliefs. That's his "power" if you will. Aside from Karen being as tall as Araragi in that one scene and a bit anti climatic I towards the end it's a great episode. I was a bit surprised too find out she had a crush on Kaiki but given her situation at the time I think it wasn't too shocking. My only concern is that there's only 4 more episodes for Tsukihi arc so back to Bakemonogatari's paste? o_0 |

Great episode and great ending for the arc! I can understand why so many are "disappointed" by it, but I don't think it was bad at all. To make long a post easier for me, I'll just quote missingsometin's comment from the 1st page which says about everything I'm thinking about too: missingsometin said: I think back to the first episode when Tsukihi mentioned fights being a valid form of communication and the fight with karen really showed it. Considering what happened in Kanbaru's arc back in bakemono the fight there was brutal and it showed, the feelings of hate really came through. In this fight though, the brutality was subdued by the outlandish and over the top action, it really felt like Karen was pulling her punches and doing just enough to get Koyomi to leave her alone. In so many other shows if a character didn't straight up tell you, it would be impossible to tell if they were really trying or not. I also both love and hate the part with kaiki, a part of me really would like to smack the smug look off his face and I would be lying if I said I was dissapointed they didn't. However I know it would just be a cheap cop-out to have the "heroes" get revenge on the "villain" to make the viewer feel better, a type of fanservice more detrimental to the plot than any amount of sexy ever could be. Kaiki tricked them out of their money yes, but smacking him around wouldn't stop his scheme or help the people he tricked. The only thing they would end up doing is getting charged with aggravated assault or theft should they decide to attempt retrieval of the money, really the only smart solution was to put it in terms he could understand "leave or we'll be a detriment to your cashflow". Make peace with your losses, prevent others from making the same mistake and move on. Definitely a hard pill to swallow, but much more applicable than "Hurt people who disagree with you for "justice"". LOL ^ |

Very awesome episode! There's too many words to describe this, but one thing bothered me a bit. When Koyomi hugged Karen, she's just as tall as him! I thought she would be about a few inches shorter! Still, it was a cherishing moment, but some of the fan service, including the hug made it look a bit incestuously sexual. @__@ |

I forget because I've been made aware that Hanamonogatari is chronologically after Koimonogatari even though it came out before thus the confirmation of their happy ending is in a conversation between Araragi and Kanbaru in Hanamonogatari. Makes sense, i wish i could read it because that type of conversation between those two sounds interesting. So i'm guessing Hanekawa was teasing Senjougahara? makes me want to read it, do they mention why Hanekawa is bullying Senjougahara, or rather how she could even be able to do it in the first place |

Well, unless you HAVE read the novels, in Nekomonogatari White, it is actually reveled that they DIDN'T HAVE SEX. DIDN'T HAVE SEX so enough with these theories of Kaiki opening up her mind towards sex and crap. It's the one after Neko Black. It's somewhere in Ch011. It doesn't say 'I didnt have sex with araragi' upfornt, but it gives it away with NisiOisin's word play (hard to explain in english) Are you sure you didn't misinterpret it since it was word play? and if so what what the purpose of the line at the end of this episode, since i doubt they just added that in for no reason. Nekomonogatari is Hanekawa story right, about the cat oddity which was briefly flash backed in Bakemonogatari? if it happened as a prequel to Bakemonogatari then how would they say the lines you are saying after Nisemonogatari, or do you mean the the 2nd novel of Nekomonogatari since it seems there are two of them. Could you give a rough translation or link to where you got the info on the Ch 011 line? or can you read Japanese thus reading the originals. Also another thing, they could have very well done it afterwards since Nekomonogatari wasn't the most recent novel; it could always pull a Clannad After Story, its not like they have to announce it. Especially since Koimonogatari (most recent novel) spoilers read at your own risk It is said in Hanamonogatari and Koimonogatari that Araragi and Senjougahara end up together and have a happy ending, even after all the hell Nadeko puts them through 1) Nekomonogatari white is the golden week episode Nekomonogatari black is after Nise2, at the start of a new semester. It's told in Hanekawa's POV. I read the actual book, upto Koimonogatari In Neko Black, Hanekawa sleeps over at Senjougahara's house due to Hanekawa's house burning down. They talk about araragi and the subject of ero-ness come up. NisiOisin (using his infamous style of writting) avoids the topic, hinting that Senjougahara was still a virgin, with puns. 2) Up until Koimono, the subject of sexual act isn't mentioned Concerning Koimonogatari I'm aware that Araragi and Senjougahara have a happy ending together, but when you mention sexual act, does that mean they actually do it in Koimonogatari? I forget because I've been made aware that Hanamonogatari is chronologically after Koimonogatari even though it came out before thus the confirmation of their happy ending is in a conversation between Araragi and Kanbaru in Hanamonogatari. Makes sense, i wish i could read it because that type of conversation between those two sounds interesting. So i'm guessing Hanekawa was teasing Senjougahara? makes me want to read it, do they mention why Hanekawa is bullying Senjougahara, or rather how she could even be able to do it in the first place I'm sorry, i didnt say it correctly, i meant: 'Even up to Koimono, it doesn't clearly talk about sexual acts.' so we dont know if they done it or not. about the happy ending together, it just means that Nadeko is no longer a Godness and won't get in the way of Araragi and Senjougahara's love from what i can tell from the whole entire series, Senjougahara and Hanekawa seems to be on a friendly relationship, built on respect for each other. Neko Black shows the life of Hanekawa in more detail, and her views and relationships with other people. Its a good read, I really want to watch it as anime as well. |

But i would say that she respects kaiki, because in Koi, she actually calls up kaiki, asking for help. To me, it shows that senjougahara does know that kaiki isn't such a bad guy and that kaiki has the knowledge to stop nadeko. so yes, senjougahara doesnt have a crush on kaiki, but still respects/admires him. -I actually like Kaiki now, after reading Koimonogatari, he is sort of an anti-hero :3 |

I also heard that Senjougahara said she was willing to do anything to pay the price to hire Kaiki to save Araragi but Kaiki didn't like the sound of it to the point that he actually dropped coffee on her head, so that leads me to believe he isn't so bad after all since what i heard she what willing to do was extreme (fits her character though, hardcore love for Araragi) but she ended up not doing it as Kaiki helped for almost free so all is good :) |

That was really underwhelming. Kaiki just left after talking for a few minutes? Not as interesting as I would have hoped. |

I could watch that fight scene all day. But seriously, that hug was purely from the heart. Absolutely loved it. |

Plenty of glorious Karen screentime in the beginning. Even in that condition, Karen's fighting prowess was incredible. Of course, she can never beat her brother's inhuman regeneration ability, though. There was also some good brother-sister dialogue between Koyomi and Karen there, followed by a warm, clean hug. He "hates" his sisters but at the same time he's proud of them and cares for them. Nobody messes with the Araragi family. The conflict was solved in a very diplomatic manner. Deishuu duly left the town, and the only casualty was his cell phone. Clearly, he knew he didn't stand a chance against both Koyomi and Hitagi at the moment. He isn't going to gain more money if he's already dead or incapacitated, after all. Karen Bee arc solved, I guess. It's Tsukihi's turn next. |

The fight scene was awesome. I actually really enjoyed the dialogue between Kaiki, Senjougahara and Kiyomi; I thought it was one of the most interesting dialogue pieces I've seen. |

Lmao, I love how no one realizes that the only reason Koyomi got his ass whooped was because he didn't even fight back. He's a god damned vampire for crying out loud! What is going to do? Slaughter his sister? He tried his best to get through her thick head without harming her. But I lol'd so hard when it explained how he sent Karen home. "I carried her on my back home, but as a precaution, I wrote 'any guy will do' on her forehead with a sharpie." Haha, that's awesome. |

Karen-Koyomi fight was exaggerated but I think it's just a way to present their current conflict. I liked how it was resolved. Same goes for the conversation with Kaiki. The way he talks is still interesting as ever. I think the climax did well with the flow of their dialogue. "Be gentle with me." That's friggin' sweet and made me LOL'd that I have to replay that scene many times. XD |

Kaiki's resolution made no sense at all. If the Fire Bee was just a placebo, then how on earth does Kaiki know that Araragi took half of it? Does Araragi have a giant sign on his head saying "I just took half a placebo." or something? |
