I could actually see this. This sounds very plausible, but too predictable.
And lol @ the preview "So this is the smell of a man´s head"
I sure hope she hopped on to Tooru´s motorcycle with him. xD
I hope your right. I like the moment between Ko and Ohana, but I really want some Ohana x Tooru moments. This episode did go too fast as well and now I have to wait for the next one. I have to say I loved this episode. This episode described exactly why I like Ohana, she's action not just words. The other people just gave up, and at least she's doing something to do things the right way. Its simple she needs Tooru to help, so she's gonna go get him. I mean no one else took the initiative so what is she supposed to do, stand idle and wait for something to happen.
guyklc said: Great cliffhanger! I have a feeling that there will be more misunderstandings... the fact that Ohana went to fetch Tohru will obviously make Minko more upset, and if Ko finds out about this, there will be even more misunderstandings.
^This is EXACTLY what's going to happen, which I am not looking forward to. I think my 'misunderstanding' meter got burnt out watching Kimi ni Todoke - I don't have much patience for it at the moment.
The scary part is that it will probably take 18 more chapters for Ko and Ohana to have any resolution and it will probably be in the last 5 minutes of the final episode. Just my guess.
I believe this is the first cliffhanger I've experienced from watching Hanasaku Iroha so far.
The airing time sure was like it happened in a split second lol. Ahhh! I can't wait for next week!!
Overall good episode but the obvious drama unfolding was a bit too much standard fare. The whole restaurant tester in disguise with everybody messing it up could've used a fresher approach.
Imagining Kou walking right into Ohana happily hugging Tooru on his motorcycle already gives me a headache. Hopefully there will be an unexpected twist, otherwise I would prefer Tokyo boy taking the next train back home to be never seen again.
Crii said: I think the Tooru/Ohana scene will play out something like this:
Ohana searches for Tooru non-stop, eventually coming to cause a huge mess in the wedding reception just as it starts or ends. Tooru will be completely shocked to see her there and the conversation will go something like this:
T: Hah!? What the hell are you doing here?!
O: Tooru-san! Kissuiso needs you! Ren-san is under pressure and he can´t cook. We need to get you back there ASAP.
T: What?! And you came all this way just to get me back there.
O: -stares intently- Please Tooru-san!
And the people around them will just stare.
T: Gosh, you sure are bad at reading the atmosphere.
O: What´s that supposed to mean!
T: Fine, let's just get out of here already.
Then they go outside and Tooru gets on his bike and tells Ohana to get on. At first she refuses and blushes a bit.
T: Hurry up and get on.
O: Eh...eh?! B-but...
T: Just get on already! Wasn't it you who said it was extremely urgent?!
Eventually she hopps on too and grabs on to his waist. Whether he gives her his helmet or not I do not know.
Either way, she´ll end up smelling his hair via wearing his helmet or by hugging him from behind while they ride on the motorcyle.
Yeah, my prediction right there. xD
EDIT: orz, now I feel like writing a Tooru/Ohana fanfic. :P
I loved the episode. I was giggling like a schoolgirl when Ko-chan called.
Really, really, hate Takako though... I hope she gets run over by a bus. Yuina was funny as always with her laid back attitude and strange dialects.
I wonder what Ren will explode in the next episode. Maybe he learned how to cook from Otae from Gintama. >:3
I was hoping for Ko-chan arriving in this episode, but it's pretty much a guarantee that he'll arrive in the next one.
However, I have this nagging feeling of dread in the back of my mind that when Ohana meets Ko, she'll have her arms wrapped around Tooru, on the back of his motorcycle as they arrive back at the Kuissou.
Smells an awful lot like forced misunderstanding in here... I pray I'm wrong.

ZOMG ZOMG ZOMG, I predicts drama soon :O:O:O:O:O:O
Ridiculous starting line aside, this week's episode was seriously awesome *thumbs up*
Comments on the 8th episode of Hanasaku Iroha:
Minchi - Why is it that she always get the most of my attention with every episode?
Okay to start off my comments, I really like her conversation with Ohana at the beginning.
Ohana: "Don't you think it'll be crazy if Kissuiso gets ranked number one and the inns fills up with customers?"
Minchi: "Stop dreaming"
^ Notice how their thoughts differs here? Ohana's thoughts are a lot more Optimistic whereas Minchi's are a lot more down to earth.
I also liked how Minchi says that she'd rather spend her time focusing on her tasks than taking a break from work, more evidence on how dedicated she is to her dream of becoming a chef.
Those points aside, I found her expressions towards the end of the episode to be very cute. Honestly, I can see how genuinely worried she was at not being able to complete the orders for dinner in time. And notice how she was almost about to cry when the others agreed that they should only prioritize the suspected mystery guests, it shows that Minchi also cares about the customers.
All in all, I am really finding myself loving her a lot more with every passing episode. At the current moment, Minchi is by far the only character who somehow manages to capture my attention even with very little screentime.
Ohana - God, its really hard to like her character when she tries to be serious >_>
Honestly, I really find it hard to take her seriously even she is trying to be serious....I mean, that scene at the end when she made that speech felt kinda weird TBH, almost like it didn't fit her character much. Also, while it is great that she wanted to call an ambulance when the Okami-san was in pain. Did the thought that it'd attract un-necessary attention towards the hotel really pass her mind at that time?
The negative things aside though, I like how she is always ready to try to make things right, such as calling Nako back to help out and then rushing to get Tohru back. It shows that she can easily give her all to anything she sets her mind on....however, she doesn't seem to have a set goal at the moment. Honestly, its like she is just doing anything that she feels like she needs to do unlike Minchi, who is 100% dedicated to pursuing her dream. But, YMMV on that part.
Are her ideas supposed to be mostly ineffective? I mean really, she did not exactly help out with anything much and she actually made some things worse (Such as putting pressure on Mr Ren....)
Also, I really don't think just catering to the 2 suspected Mystery Guests (provided by Jiroumaru of all people) will help the Kissuiso inn much >_>
Okami-san - She got.....okay, maybe better isn't the best word in this episode.
The main shock of this week's episode. Honestly, I wonder whats wrong with her that she needs to have a check-up in the hospital....hope its nothing too serious D:
That aside, the fact that she puts the customers of the Kissuiso above all else and even above her own health made me respect her a lot more now. Also, it is nice to see that her impression of Ohana as improved to the point where she count on her to manage the inn. (Foreshadowing maybe?)
/end comments because the other characters left too little impressions.
Overall: It was a good intro. episode to the new story arc for the show. I enjoyed the development on the Okami-san and Michi's character plus the interactions between the staffs in this episode. The comedic moments were also done well, such as Mr Ren dropping the knife and the line he said following that. ("My hand slipped, nya" xD) Anyways, I really lookforward to seeing how things will turn out in the next episode and what the so-called godly ep 10 will be about :D
Final Score: 5/5
Also, Kou is here to visit Ohana :DD

Was I the only one who was thinking Ren would be getting some serious moe points? Seriously, he was acting cuter than all the other girls combined, and he's a 42 your old guy.
Well Kotetsu from Tiger and Bunny can act cute, so I guess this makes sense... just interesting how this year's anime are exploring giving moe points to the neglected middle aged group. Maybe they are finally getting the point that older people watch innocent anime too.
OMG I WAS RIGHT!!! I knew that Ko wouldn't really be in this ep and would probably wouldn't get a real major appearance until the 9th one!!! I had a suspicion that he would appear at the end or barely and I was right!!! DAMNIT!!!! Now I have to wait a week!!! Well it will be worth it~ I also hope Ohana rides Toorus bike that will be SO GOOD!!!
Anyway I really liked this ep ^_^ Ohana showing them whose boss was great!!! I hate that stupid advice lady... The only thing I like about her is that sometimes she says english words so she has this cute engrish thing going on :) Other than that totalllllyyyy annoying~
Really really can't wait till next week!!! Im probably gonna die waiting!!!! This is my fav anime of the season <3
FELT TOO SHORT. But it was really good I was squealing.
So we have to wait another damn week.
And next episode, I don't want some heartbreaking, still not ready for it. Also, don't give us cliché heartbreaker moments. That's all I ask for you, Episode 9.
Get well soon Okamisan!
I hope Ko-chan and Ohana will at least meet.
Can't wait for the Love triangle! I support Ko X Ohana btw. But i like to Tohru X Ohana too. Hmm.
Level 1--typical romance with complications and misunderstandings beginning to accumulate. Well done, but nothing really special happening other than furtherance of the plot and set up for a coming love polygon.
Level 2--Contrast between the virtues of traditional Japanese attitudes and service with the new globablized ethos put forward by the management consultant. As the series progresses we see Ohana recognizing more and more the wisdom of characters like her grandmother and Beanman (as opposed to the feckless enthusiasms of her uncle and mother).
I like this series. It hasn't quite filled the expectations I had after the first episode, but it still is well worth watching. If it's gone down to second place behind Ano Hana in my season's ranking, it's primarily because I'm a sucker for high emotion and Hanasaku Iroha thus far doesn't pack quite the same emotional punch.
Please don't feed the trolls!
In my next life I want to collide at the corner with the cute transfer student
carrying a piece of toast in her mouth...rodac
I think on there way back to the place Kouichi gonna see Ohana riding the motorcycle with Tooru and hes gonna get the wrong idea and leave, crying or something...
A MUCH better episode than usual. The only thing bothering me is the fact that I know the show's heading towards a really terrible love triangle (love circle?), where Ko-Chan, Minchi and Tohru all assume there's something going on between Tohru and Ohana, while Ohana remains utterly clueless to it all. :/
Also in the preview it looks like Minko tells Renji to let her do it and he just guides her through it. Could be a good development of their chemistry. Looking forward to it.
And so, my thoughts on Renji henceforth can be summarised with "Moe moe kyun! <3" I hope he gets more attention later on!
I thought Takako was gone for good, I really can't stand her... Incoming misunderstanding with Ohana, Ko, Tooru and Minchi is quite obvious, I would absolutely love it, if it actually would not happen. I feel Okamisan will be just fine, the series was very lighthearted until now, real drama would feel out of place. 5/5 waiting for the next episode.

This.... sounds vewy vewy naughty ~
O_O ... <_ < ... -_- ... um, I didn't mean it that way... perhaps I should use fewer pronouns in the future... because now I'M creeped out you perv! Wow I should have given context I am so sorry to all the other readers... oh gosh I should never post stuff when I'm not fully alert.

I'm sure others would know that you didn't mean it that way ;)

Relax ~
I realised it was a joke, but at the same time... wow, I need to be specific, because now there is going to be a doujin of that, and I'll be the one to blame for its existance
probably not the first but I'm calling Kou to be the reporter even if it doesn't make sense. ignoring his calls is pretty mean, why does this dude even like her? still impending love triangle with Tohru? who takes a train and starts looking for someone having no idea where they are? seriously she doesn't seem very bright.

Fist she had to turn off the phone, she was at work. Personal calls are forbidden at most service industry jobs (especially mine). Your attention must be on the client and the boss at all times.
Why does he like her? The flash back should be enough, he's only invested the last several years of his life to her, he's not just going to give up.
And Ohana did know where Tooru was, she looked him up via GPS.
She might not be the brightest tool in the shed, but she's an adolescent, that's what young people do.
