Oh good lord now its Tohru into Ohana.. can't we just remove his character? don't like the new End's Vocals at all either. Decent ep Seems im almost alone in just not shipping at all. This is supposed to be slice of life, not some pure Romantic Drama. |

I can't believe this anime is going to have 26 episodes. If it was 12 or so episodes, I feel like it would be a MILLION times better. It wouldn't have terrible gag-inducing filler like episode 3, or semi-decent filler like this one, which was boring and random but at least somewhat introduced new plot points and at least attempted to push the story forward. It's just so disappointing, because the first two episodes were SO damn good, but the anime has just failed ever since. It makes me think that the first two episodes really were nothing but a fluke. :( |

FiiFO said: Enjoyed the episode and from the looks of things - Tooru is starting to show his feelings for Ohana from the obvious looks he's been showing throughout this episode X3 I suspected they would do this from the situation in the last episode but I was hoping they wouldn't do something so cliche. Maybe they'll play it straight, maybe they'll do something interesting, right now I don't really know. I'm hoping Ko will show up and get physical. :p Too many times in these situations one character just runs off and pouts in a corner, and that's no fun. No one ever stays to duke it out. Loved the china dresses, but then who doesn't love china dresses? And ren showed some emotion. When he saw the look on Tooru's face I think he suspected something. The old man is more cunning than I thought! And oh the engrish. xD It was made all the more funny by the fact that her pronunciation was pretty damn good, but her grammar was awful. A poignant lack of a certain infamous heron in this episode. Permaybehaps he is hiding out somewhere, plotting something dastardly. ^^ |

"NOTHING VENTURED, NOTHING GAINED WIN!" Lolwut? XD I can't believe Ohana's logic for all of this. I just don't buy it anymore. She lost any remaining awesome points she had when she suggested they cut the slit higher. Now she's just another character in the show. And wait, Ohana got paid to clean and such for her mom? Life is so unfair! D: Ohana's uncle trying to play the pity card just didn't fit with me either. He's doing it with the inn's best intentions in mind? I always thought he was just after that woman... Also: Tohru, nande?! Ko needs to hurry his ass up. |

AstuteOtaku said: Ko is going to walk in at the worst possible moment, maybe Ohana will be dusting, fall of the stepladder, get caught by Tooru, thus leaving the two of them in a position that suggests that they were kissing. Then in comes Ko who promptly drops his luggage and stares in shock and then enters various other members of the cast who all get an eyeful of the suspicious situation... This is all from the top of my head, but with this series I wouldn't put it past them. I hope this won't happen. this show don't need cliched and predictable situation like this. I support Ko x Ohana pairing. the guy had guts for confessing his love in very first episode. i really don't want love triangles between tohru, ko and minchi. Agreed, I want Ko to get Ohana, but I do find the potential Tooru thing as interesting, it might help Minko develop a bit more as a character, maybe realise what she would be without Tooru and define herself. |

But I think it's Ohana but I wouldn't be surprised either way. YES! I thought up the same little theoryl. Him liking Nako would be a pleasant surprise, but I doubt that would be the case. Ko needs to come back into the picture (and not just through text messages!) or I will passionately ship Tohru and Ohana together. He looked like such an adorable dork in the last scene. =3 Also, I hope we get to learn more about the Grandmother's past and her dealings with the inn and what happened in their family regarding Ohana's mother. |

Love dis anime, all the episodes are BEAST, this one has Nako in different dress = WIN, truthfully i would've SUPER preferred second outfits wihout apron, but the characters still make it WIN, and also i noticed the Tohru stuff, but who is he staring at!? Is it Ohana, the lady servant or Nako!? If its Ohana (Who I hope) I wanna see epix one sided love triangle >.< lol. But ya, also I like seeing Madame Manager supporting Ohana in her own way! |

I am completely in love with this series despite the fact that it's a work from P.A. As a Tomoe fan, I am totally looking forward to next week's episode. Hoping for some development from every character in the future however, which makes me glad this goes on for 26 episodes. =D |
Will I fall in love someday? I wonder? |

It makes me think that the first two episodes really were nothing but a fluke. :( Oh GDO, I thought I was the only one who feels this way. TY for saying that =) The first ep was serious and Ohana at first appeared to be more mature than kids her age, she didn't talk much, she was a little moody but was a responsible kid. When she had the opportunity to start over a new life at the inn and the ending kicked in, I thought it was lovely done as a prologue for the most promising anime of the season, with the artwork and animation already being proof of its superiority. Then the 2nd ep came around, Ohana became too lousy for my tastes but kids her age are supposed to be that way so it was a positive as a realistic factor, even though the personality change was rather abrupt IMO and I dislike loud mouthed people. Nevertheless, she was passionate about work and strived hard to achieve recognition. And that, is a wonderful trait that many recent heroines lack so even if I personally felt that it was a slight letdown from the 1st ep, it was still acceptable. Unfortunately, everything went to disarray from the moment that ero-writer was introduced. Before that, I had something close to an aversion agaisnt Minchi and her "Die die die" whining over nothing but for the first 3 eps, it was rather reasonable because I know I would be mad if some random bitch just screwed the weed that I cultivated meticulously... Anyway, back to ero-writer, he & his arc made the anime extremely unrealistic in regard to the entire cast's behavior. Then, it further sunk into the failure abyss with the cheesy drama about Tohru leaving. It was predictable from start to finish. The only thing that wasn't predictable was the rich inn girl for being friendly to Ohana instead of being a stuck-up bitch with an "ohohohoho" aristocratic laugh and an assigned rival role. As for this ep, it was a small improvement from the previous disappointments since ero-writer was almost absent the entire time. I'm starting to get used to Ohana's lousiness so it couldn't get any worse from now on. Everything was fine with some flimsy romance in the mix. According to the "LIST OF ANIME CLICHE", Tohru will have a crush on Ohana, thus inducing some shenanigans and dorama about a triangle, possibly rectangle with Ko joining in for some random reason but no matter how cute Tohru x Ohana is and no matter how hard I threw a ton of coins into the Shinto box for that to happen, it simply WON'T because the japanese, especially the girlz, value their fiendship so dearly that they don't want it to turn sour over some guy so it's almost certain that Ohana will push Tohru to her fiend Minchi & score Ko so that everybody will be happy cheesy bacon-y ever after like a cheap Walt Titsney movie... And to make it more Wallt Titsney-like, they might push that shy girl to some random guy, like Mr. Bean for example. Whatever, it won't get anymore predictable than that so as long as fuck-face writer doesn't show up, I will be happy. It's a shame that Ohana turned out to be like this though, even if I'm getting used to her habit of sticking her nose in everybody's BZNZ and get fussy over anything yet being unaware of what it's actually about... |

And my question to you sir is... Do you know how to read? Don't you think it's too convenient to labeling everything as "wall of texts" when all you did was read the 1st two sentences and condemn the whole thing solely based of your own bias? Or if you don't want to discuss about this ep, or rather, the show as a whole with ME in a forum board fully intended for such purpose, then please don't quote ME with your useless and trashy comment about "don't like it, don't watch it". Perhaps you yourself are that type of person who drops a show just because of something that ticks you off while refusing to examine the good sides of said show, but that doesn't mean that the whole population, including me, has to follow your fabricated prevarications. And to answer your question even if I'm under the impression that you're merely trying to troll, I'm following this show because I was mesmerized by the wonderfully done prologue, the detailed and crisp animation, the bright and lovely sceneries, the delightful music, some of Ohana's personality traits, and like most people here, I ship for Tohru x Ohana despite knowing fully well that it won't happen. All of this can be found in my previous comment if you have any decency or reading proficiency to understand what was written. However, if those assumptions of mine were correct, then I can induce that you won't even bother to read this comment either so if you're simply trolling me then GJ sir, you were successful in wasting 2:47 min of my precious time. The interesting thing about Tohru x Ohana is that it feels like a very natural relationship. If we didn't know about Michi's crush until 2-3+ episodes after this instead of a few episodes ago, then I'd totally be begging for a TxO pairing. EDIT: Ko should just show up and take Minko instead. The best part IMO is obviously Ohana and Enichi as follows, the reason for that is that Einichi was feeling bad for his mom to cast away Takako due to her stupidity with the indecent clothing incident because he knew her since College. Enichi knows that Takako is excellent with her education because he knows she graduated with a good reputation. Problem is that it made him very depressed. What I find really good is that Ohana obviously failed at surprising Enishi but by doing the finger flick on his forehead it reminded him of how Satsuki did it to him without a good reason. That was really nostalgic, especially how it was setup. In the end it did work as Enishi showed his respects towards the customer while before he was hiding out. The second best part IMO is the whole cool secret passage Mr. Beanman! I loved that. Best of all Ohana chose the dress I wanted as follows, but unfortunately did not keep her flowers, which was a let down TBH. The whole apron thing was also bad. They should not have been wearing one. The room surprisingly had lots of the dresses but I wonder why they never were put to use other than the fact that Madam manager's husband got angry with her about that. The other part is the dreadful Ohana x Tooru possible pairing based on the one proof in the spoiler The third part that I did not like because obvious ecchi part 1 although very mild comes with a obvious ecchi 2 of Nako's breasts. Come on not, stop this shitty little gimmicks of ecchi when there are clearly better ones like Softeni or Seikon that do way better jobs. This series does not need a single scene of this and I fear there will be much more of it in the future. That being said Takako is pretty nuts with her dresses in the spoiler Random stuff, Ohana sure was happy with the amount she got, considering she only got 80$ at home in one month. Based on the following spoiler About ED changes, most crucial is in the spoiler (you guys check this out) About preview, OK...WTF is up with the army soldiers running? Looks like Nako will be scared of something perhaps. Of course Tomoe's expression looks like she is scheming something. BTW I do like the school uniforms. This is a series I like to semi-analyze and semi-compliment/point out some flaws. In general it has been drama/comedy/emotionally fulfilling but please drop the shitty attempts at ecchi for God's sake! It's not working and is only annoying. Kthkb! I wouldn't have said it so drastic but I'm afraid I have to agree. While the producers showed what they're capable of in the first episodes they don't seem to strive for more then a good average show. Well, hope dies last and there's still a lot of potential. But you're wrong about Nako. She's constantly blushing from the moment she first met Ohana, so there has to be some lesbian revelation. On another note: Why does the perv now look almost identical to the uncle? Was it so hard to at least give them a different hair colour? |

I dont understand why people say its cliché, i mean, Honey and Clover was also slice of life but it was filled with endless love triangles and it was EPIC. I think that including romance will please not just the slice of life fans but also the romance fans. Cliché, Tooru falling for Ohana? i dont think so, because its sooooo rare to see a much older guy falling in love with a girl (i mean he must be almost in his 20 right?). Usually its the younger girl who starts liking the guy so this to me is not that cliché. I support Tooru x Ohana, i think its cute, and i loved the way the feelings of Tooru are blooming, it was so natural and he probably started to love her by her personality not love at first sight like most clichés. Also i love Tooru because he is not the typical guy "im so good and im gonna tease you". He gets my support because he is hardworking, he makes funny faces although he is serious, and he is a chef assistant and doesnt even has the typical "im cool" pose of the tough guys. Ohana x Tooru OTP |

You mean when he stared at her in the chinese dress or told her to wear shorter skirts? And while he's not the typical bishounen he still talks down to the girls as if he never makes mistakes, even though he's just an apprentice himself. I'd realy like him to mess up a meal or cut his finger for a change. At least seeing him cope with that would give him some personality. For now he's just the grumpy guy that works hard. |

He talks down because he wants to help them to get better at what they do, he wants the girls to improve their job. Yet he is always helping and teaching Minko, and he was the one who told Ohana in episode 2 that she should rely on other people and dont try to do all by herself. If Tooru was a grumpy he wouldnt be learning with the older chef, he would already have moved to the Inn of Yuna´s grandma. Being harsh doesnt mean you look down to the other person. Because if you defend that, then Minko is the grumpiest of all. Yet, that doesn't mean she has to be bad. Tooru x Ohana FTW;D |

Sad lack of Ko this episode ;____; And oh dear, Tohru likes Ohana doesn't he. THE DORAMA. Hmm, I still think Ohana is the most interesting character in this show, but maybe that's just me. She's so positive and determined and she really tries her best at everything. That's admirable, imo, even if she doesn't always get it right. Nako's getting better and better; Tomoe's hilarious; Ren and Tohru are pretty cool and Ko's adorable. Minchi still drives me up a wall. Anyway, guess it was a good episode even though not much really happened in terms of overall plot development. Ohana's uncle finally got some spotlight. Feels like they're going to give different characters some development before finally continuing with the real plot. More Tomoe next ep, it seems. Can't wait~ |

I'd feel bad for Minko, but I suppose the fact that Tooru likes Ohana is pretty obvious. |

nznznz said: But you're wrong about Nako. She's constantly blushing from the moment she first met Ohana, so there has to be some lesbian revelation. When Ohana met Minchi, that already gave me the vibe. I'm very sensitive towards yuri tendencies, as much, if not more than an average yaoi fujoshi; the only difference is that I dislike to pair anybody x anybody w/o a justifiable reason. As for this anime, it doesn't strike me as the type to go into taboo-ish land; if anything it's more about girls' friendship. But that doesn't mean that I'd mind if that were to happen, not a single bit ;) (as long as the revelation makes sense) PS: Please call it "yuri", it sounds more delicate than "lesbian" - Kanako, M+H Orulyon said: If Tooru was a grumpy he wouldnt be learning with the older chef, he would already have moved to the Inn of Yuna´s grandma. Excuse me, but isn't "grumpy" something similar to "bad-tempered"? If so, a grumpy person can still learn with his senior in order to improve himself if he has an endeavour. Those are 2 different entities IMO Being harsh doesnt mean you look down to the other person While it's doesn't directly mean that. It; however, CAN imply such intention, especially in regard to the way he treated Minchi. He gave more scolding than giving helpful advices about what she did wrong. It might work in anime because people might magically understand each other w/o properly expressing themself but under real circumstances, the scolded person might more likely to disobey the offender's orders. It's a psychologic theory or something if I recall but since I don't like a science field where the accuracy rate is generally below 50%, I don't really know the details... Anyway, that's the reason why teachers must undergo speech training, you don't expect people to listen to you if you scold them more than advicing them. |

The first part was so-so, but second part kinda made up for it. Though, I can still feel that damage from the third episode. Can't take this show seriously after it. |

Everyone is shipping everyone when the only two people who have even hinted at being interested in romance are Minchi and Ko. So I'm shipping them, just for the lulz. |

Anyway, that's the reason why teachers must undergo speech training, you don't expect people to listen to you if you scold them more than advicing them. yes grumpy is bad tempered, but personally i do not think he is grumpy. he has times he does scold Minko and Ohana, but generally he is not like that, and he doesnt behave like that with the other girls or men there. It does imply like you say, but again, i repeat: it doesnt mean the person is scolding you because wants you to feel bad. Its a matter of you analyze all the other behaviors of the person, and you will know her true intention. as u saw till now, he scolds Minko but he helps her too, and the own Minko realized that, and its her own words "Tooru-san is more kind than anyone" . Rant mode: We´re talking about anime, indeed, lol, about accuracy of psychology theories, there´s more than a thousand of them, and i can assure you some are plain shit while others are totally true. It depends on the line you follow. usually dynamic theories of psychology are crap, but if you go to the cognitive-behavioral /neuropsychologic ones, those are very accurate and are used in other sciencesmaybe because i have a master degree in clinical psychology so i know XP. /ends rant |

I thought that was obvious. :) As already said, behaving grumpy doesn't mean there can't be good intentions, but for now we only have Minchi's appraisal and if he realy lives up to that remains to be seen. Orulyon said: I dont understand why people say its cliché, i mean, Honey and Clover was also slice of life but it was filled with endless love triangles and it was EPIC. I think that including romance will please not just the slice of life fans but also the romance fans. Not saying romance is bad, it simply depends on individual taste. To me, the idea of a love quadrangle is terrible, because I have no emotional investment in three of its participants (the only one I like is Ko). Honey and Clover is one of the rare exceptions, one of the few series that handle this topic well. However, it isn't the triangles that made the show fantastic, at least not for me because I didn't actively ship any of the couples. It was about Takemoto, the way he grew up, the way he made a lot of sorrowful and happy memories. Although all the relationships were beautifully built up, I'd say that Honey and Clover was a very character-driven show. Strong and realistic characters form strong and realistic relationships, be it love or friendship. Hanasaku Iroha so far CANNOT be considered a worthy successor of HnC, because its characters are very archetypal and their issues are hard to relate to (blame the average execution of ep 3-6 for that). Of course, we're still at episode 6, a lot can happen, but I doubt it's ever going to reach the emotional heights of HnC. Moreover, as some people here already mentioned, it's most likely going to choose the path of an average anime series. |

I just love everything of this show, from the start to the end. It just saddens me that Noto Mamiko seems to be leaving next episode. Even though she voices only supporting character, such a great voice leaving the anime sure saddens. Omg this ep has me giggling non stop like a fan girl!!! Its sooooo very cute!!! I love you precious Tohru oh and I can't wait for you aswell precious Ko to pop up and make it even MORE dramatic hehehe YAY!!! What I'm scared will happen though is that Tohru actually has a crush on either Nako or the older waitress girl!!! I hope that doesn't happen.... Anyway I love this ep!!! I love the whole series so far in fact!!! The only thing that sucks is having to wait a week for each ep!!! :( |

I didn't believe the others at first when they said that they were getting Tohru and Ohana "vibes", but now, it's slowly showing.. This will get ugly on the episodes where they confront each other about this.. and also Ko is planning to go to Ohanna right? .. Anyway, about the episode, some fanservice here and there.. and Ohanna being happy about her salary :D.. also At first, I thought Toru was looking at the consultant but when Minchi looked at the door, it was Ohanna, that surprised me a bit.. I wonder how the manager looked like when she was young and wearing that outfit :D.. Gen-san dropping his foor when he saw Tohru smiling was Lol xD.. 4.5/5 for the episode |

boring cliche etc I think it's really hard for a Slice of Life anime to fit an episode so filler-esque into it and make it feel like a filler episode the whole time. Props to I.G. for making an incredibly boring episode in a boring series. I feel this anime is the mutant baby of Amagami and Natsume Yuujinchou minus the enjoyment of either (especially the latter). |
