And just like that, peace is gone again. I mean, that was short as hell.

I gotta give Kakeru some credit though. He's still trying to use his time travel ability to make things right despite everything that happened. Not like he has much choice but yeah.

As bleak as a battle between timeline jumpers is (especially when it's horribly mismatched), the concept for it is way more interesting than it has any right to be.

That fork stabbing was brutal even if it got undone immediately after.

Finally, an almost faithful "adaptation" from the VN/source itself, period.

Almost, since it's not really focused on Noa herself.

Well, what can I ask for, "Miyako deserves better" ahh moment

The episode where they could have at least nailed the tone and end this trash adaptation on a good note, but my God the execution was terrible, from transitions to visuals and OST... The lack of impact is surreal, it's like watching drying paint.

It already ended bad next week, when they should have capped on last episode's ending (with Iris ominous warning on the ED without nothing happened imediately) by ending it on a cliffhanger, but in this episode they didn't do a thing at all. No fake ending and nothing major to highlight what was happening... The shift in tone and transition was so nonsensical that it was honestly hard to follow, it came out of nowhere without any foreshadowing.

No Squall OST or a substitute insert song either when Kakeru goes back the first time after the killings and again they couldn't help themselves in pushing Mary Sue Miyako when stealing Noa's role! Like, it made sense in the anime context, where they are selling her as the OTP, but then what was the point of shoehorning the flashbacks/memories of the other timelines at the end of the episode, where he ends up with the other girls?

Pushing an OTP in this anime adaptation was a huge mistake (after the 1st 4 episodes they should have let the Miyako romance drop slowly) when for the sake of the adaptation they should have priorized the harem-wise vibe as it would benefit the structure and climax of the story. In plenty of VN anime adaptations there is criticism when the Directors don't have the guts to chose/focus on a girl and going with the half-assed open ending romance, but in here, where it would actualy benefit from it, they do the opposite and ruin things up. If on the source there could be the criticism of Miyako getting the short end of the stick, losing relevance for the other girls as the story goes by (where the author was even forced to create an extra episode for the sake of her), in the anime the opposite happens. Unfortunately for the adaptation of the story, it only turned worse as it was handled without care.

The Deus Ex-Machina next week will be senseless yet again!!!

1 episode left, thank god! 🙏

For the anime onlies who struggled this far and are curious enough, I leave the memorable fake ending of the source... the one that was butchered the previous week that served the transition for the 1st rewind on this week.

I guess either this adaptation will completely skip the stuff from New Episode/Episode 5 or it'll only have some small crumbs, like the ending, cause i dont see them adapting the final fight and the epilogue in to one final episode, unless they'll announce OVA...

He's still trying to do his best, but he still failed because the enemy had already arrived 5 minutes before him. Let's see how He handles it...

this guy is seriously stupid. after all these retries, how can he not understand causality? he and his sociopathic buddy are probably the only two humans on Earth that intimately understand cause and effect since they've slipped through so many 'what if?' situations. the effing earthquake that broke The World's Eye in the first place. THAT is the core Event A that started this whole nightmare. if The World's Eye isn't broken, Iris never gets in touch with Earth and blablablas.
just an ol school American otaku enjoyin the life. don't sass me kiddies, i've been otaku probably since before you were born. leave me in peace and i won't bother you either.
