Digimon and Pokémon, the monster concept was perfect when I was a child and is still perfect to this day, sadly not enough anime use the concept

| Gintama—where do I even begin? The concept of an alternate-history Edo period invaded by aliens is so wildly original and entertaining, plus Gintama loves to poke fun at historical figures and world trends with a modern twist! you can't help but wonder how no one thought of it before. Plus, the meta-humor and fourth-wall breaks are just chef's kiss. |

| i think the concept of serial experiments lain is soo sick and unique, like the whole thing with the wired and the bits and pieces of information that you get, which you have to figure out yourself.. :D also the aspects of internet and identity, i think it's just so fascinating, especially since you can interpret the anime in your own way. also the promised neverland season 1, these smart kids trying to escape the orphanage and being in a sort of mental warfare against their "mother" is just a great concept imo. i don't know whether it's that unique, but definitely a cool premise for an anime |
| If you liked Bungo Stray Dogs OP then try Re:Creators, same general idea, the power of authors creations come to life and battle each other. There's so many wacky concepts in anime it's hard to pick one. Akiba Maid Wars was pretty unique, gangster maids set in 90's Akiba. Penguindrum and Princess Tutu are unique and very different. Take your pick from any range of out there sci-fi shows like Brave Bang Bravern, Samurai Flamenco, GitS SAC, and that's not even touching upon wacky OVA's with crazy premises. For me one of the 'coolest' concepts is a simple one, a fixer in 80's Tokyo sorts out messes, and tries to pick up women, City Hunter. It's cool, funny, action, fun characters and great vibe. |
