Hi @vanillasaruto !
I saw your recommendation request
vanillasaruto said:
1. Comedy and/or Slice of Life
2. Must be on crunchyroll or free to watch
3. Can be from my plan to watch list
4. Any length, fine with a movie as well

so with an unhinge mind i instantaneously wish to recommend to you Makeine
haven't checked on crunchyroll tho but it is on netflix
and, to my surprise, it is not on your watchlist
i just began to watch it and i can steadfastly say that Makeine is truly toradora's level character development + nichijou's quality of punchline
(well, to be able to compare with toradora and nichijou is a bold statement in itself
and the aesthetic and colour palette is so delicate
i just began to watch makeine but i like it very much!
i hope you like it as well
pls have a good day!

@symbolsanime If you like BL romance with an adult cast, you have to watch Twittering Birds Never Fly! The romance is subtle yet dramatic. There's also an OVA called Don't Stay Gold that follows the side characters. Watch that as well.

For a bit of BL comedy, I would suggest you check out The Highschool Life of a Fudanshi. The episodes are really short (like 3 minutes long), but the MC imagines some pretty funny situations hehehe

Let me know what you think 😊
@victooooorious Ok thank you so much for the suggestions, I have a lot to watch, but once I watch those ones I'll let you know what I thought of them! What are some of your fav BL's and fav BL characters?

Hi! I looked through your list and I think you'd really enjoy Baccano! It has an adult cast and is placed in 1930s Chicago! Its quite a fun watch, though the show aired in 2007, so the animation will not be that good, but i think its a wonderful anime.
If you'd like to try something a bit different but that might pique your interest i'd suggest Odd Taxi and Beastars, they both have a mystery theme and a unique art style! Beastars is more focused on the romance whilst odd taxi is more focused on the mystery. Feel free to give any of these a try! <3

@aaru-shi
okay thank you for the suggestions! I'll put baccano! on my list, but unfortunately I won't be watching odd taxi or beaster I just don't like ones about animals as humans. but i think ur pfp is funny lol saiki k beiber xD

Based on your requests and your favorites, I would definitely recommend one of my old gems: Skip Beat!

It's about acting, it has an adult cast, just the right amount of comedy and a little bit of romance. The story is very interesting and well written and I love the development of the characters, especially the protagonist. Hope you like it!
@Soonie Thank you for the suggestion! I started skip beat last month and dropped it after 5 eps, but I'm going to go back and finish it at some point cuz it was good. I think i was just in a bad mood and dropped it lol

Since you wanted to watch an adult romance anime, I would recommend this one. Sorry if it's not to your liking.

Natsuyuki Rendezvous
Senpai ga Uzai Kouhai no Hanashi

What I would like to recommend is an animated film version that you might enjoy seeing at Christmas. However, “Tokyo Godfathers” is excluded.
@kihel I'm going to add both to my list! Oh man I really should watch Tokyo Godfathers again! Such a great movie!

@Joyboy_WoL Hi! Since you like Vinland Saga S2 and Sousou no Frieren, I recommend Violet Evergarden. I think it depicts the journey of self-discovery really well and they're both set in the aftermath of a major event and enter into a more peaceful lifestyle.

Since you're interested in quite a wide range of genres, and we have some compatibility in anime, I can recommend you Saenai Heroine no Sodatekata (as school/romance/harem) and Hinamatsuri (as comedy/supernatural).
These series are easy to watch and will brighten up a few of your evenings!

@luffoy You could try out Konosuba or Dr. Stone. The first is isekai fantasy comedy and the second is sci-fi comedy (I added it b/c there are some sci-fi elements in Dandadan).

@DigiCat Hi, so first off cool Tailmon sprite.

Secondly, I went through your list and you've seen so many anime that it was pretty hard to find one that'd suit your taste and you haven't watched yet. At least that was the case until I realized an odd omission. You're telling me you really like Digimon and particularly the Our War Game movie but have never seen Summer Wars?

That's basically a second round of that movie but completely devoid of Digimon as a concept however really entertaining regardless. I'd even go as far to say that in some aspects it does some things better like the way the threat slowly escalates, while others not so much in comparison like the emotional attachment to the characters. Also being a Digimon fan as well I also prefer the one with Agumon and the gang. Regardless, it's almost 2 hours long so it should be worth a shot... right?
@rasterman7 Hey there :D thanks for the rec!

Digimon is one of my all time favs! And yes Our War Game is awesome!! So thanks for picking something that's close to that <3

It was kinda hard to find something to recommend since we have a lot in common that you already watched. But from what I saw I think you would enjoy 3-gatsu no Lion. I'm sure you already heard of it but I insist it's a beautiful show with good drama.

Hope you enjoy!
@miyo__ You're right, I've it on a separate spreadsheet among a lot of other anime but I may be able to prioritize it to watch it sooner rather than later. Thanks 👍

Its fantasy with hints of slight 'Isekai'. Its not a regular Isekai by a long shot.

@Reveluv101 I got a few series I can recommend, some longer, some short and some are movies, take your pick!

Short:
Death Parade, really good show that covers what happens after we die
Angel Beats, made me tear up

Longer:
Ranking of Kings, the story is amazing but it's a bit longer at 23 episodes.
Made in Abyss, really good story but is pretty dark

Movies:
Spirited Away, honestly a classic, you can't go wrong
Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms, a beautiful movie in more ways than one

@RubyWolf222 Hey there! For something extra short (and sweet), check out Pui Pui Molcar. It might look childish (and is what I thought at first too) but trust, stop-motion gunea pig cars is amazing. (Plus, each ep is only like 2 minutes)

For a more traditional rec, Cells at Work is what you get when you think "What if the human body, but anime?". It's as fun as it sounds!

@symbolsanime Hmmm depends on the if it's a high school or adult cast 🤔

High school cast? Given (Of course hahaha Kaji Akihiko is my baby and I adore his story!!)

Adult cast? Twittering Birds Never Fly (When I started the series, I preferred the side couple. But after reading the available manga volumes, my favorites have changed to Yashiro and Doumeki!!)

Runners-up: Sasaki and Miyano, Tadaima, Okaeri, Stranger by the Shore

And yourself?

@HaruhiZ Based on genres you mentioned and your favorites include Kaguya-sama: Love is War, I'd like you to try His and Her Circumstances. Early on the premise is similar where both leads are top of their class and try to outdo each other. However KareKano has heavier drama than KaguyaSama it does go a little bit deeper with characters especially later on.

For me if anyone can recommend me a cool sci-fi show which is not on my list ? Thanks!

@Ephemeric_soul so i watched your anime list and i would recommend you ergo proxy and Good Night World. They both have a good story and i believe it will match your taste.

I like animes with good storys and character development. The genre dosnt matter, but preferably mystery.

Extremely high-quality post-cyberpunk with an emphasis on the detective component and characters. This is the case when many aspects are performed at a high level: from direction, narration and art to concept, action component and musical accompaniment. That's why I think that you would like it.
