i hate the fanservice but otherwise it was really fun. why does fanservice of teenagers always present in anime? its disturbing. i wish that the characters were adults if they were going to incorporate a r-rated sense of humor.

Sure is something to go back to the start when the series was a bit more edgy. I knew to trust in Science Saru, this ep was great. Captures the vibe of the manga way better than the Chainsaw Man anime did.

What a fantastic episode OMGG, my best friends been hyping up the show to me ever since before episode 1 premiered, and after he showed me the OP last night; I had to check out the show! The show definitely doesn’t disappoint, I love the complete Polar Opposites Momo and Ken are on at the beginning of the episode, and how both of them encounter exactly what the other one believes in. Also I lost it when Turbo Granny said “GIVE ME YOUR WEENIE” xD!!!!!! Only thing that I didn’t like about the episode was the scene in the UFO with the aliens. I know nothing happened but I felt really uncomfortable during that whole scene (it’s a personal thing tho)

Definitely up there for best anime this year IMO!!!

Fk me for not watching this ep in one go, i had to leave in between watching this and got back to it later on.
But i should stop whining or be a basket case but say, this show had amazing visuals with those bright and sexy colours, its fast paced with undpredictability , oustanding animation and great camera movements (do you call it camera movements in anime?). It really reminds me of devilman crybaby which is one of my favs , i have high hopes for this. There is some really nice shots here and there as well, the grannys statement obv surprised me , animes that dont hold back are amazing, bcz why not, imagination is the limit, let it all out.

I immediately was thinking of masaaki yuasas style of animation when watching this and why not? Dont those movements take you back to those ping pong the animation moments? It def does to me.

My friends at work talked so much about this anime that I decided to give it a chance.

Starting with the opening, the first thing I noticed was the song sung by Creepy Nuts, who also did that opening for the second season of Mashle: Bling-Bang-Bang-Born. The visuals of the opening are a little different from the others I'm used to seeing and there are some parts that give me the vibe of Jujutsu no Kaisen (00:34 to 0:42) maybe because of the similarity with cursed spirits.

The introduction of the nerdy protagonist fascinated by aliens reminded me a little of Shigeo Kageyama from the anime Mob Psycho and I also couldn't help but notice that his voice is the same as Tanjirō's (Natsuki Hanae).

I was surprised when I recognized Mayumi Tanaka's voice in that perverted curse Turbo Granny with that silly voice of Luffy even more with the jokes about dicks 🤣

I intend to continue watching

I had heard good things about dan da dan as a manga.

The anime first episode was really awful though. Really goes the extreme of threatening sexual violence to the young characters for laughs.

Sometimes with anime I have just no idea.
Def one to skip, I think you could easily see New Show and just jump into it on Netflix or Crunchyroll, without knowing the upcoming content

I will never understand why mangakas always use rape for either to make cringe jokes like in this anime or for a cheap shock value . Is this just a fetish of this mangaka or just another mangaka who copies all the other degenerate shonen mangakas or they are out of ideas about how to make people interested ? And if this kind of thing was in ep 1(and I am talking about the almost rape scene) which again provided nothing to the plot , I can only imagine what cringe similar things will happen in the future. That was awfully bad.
The animation is so clean and enticing, but it's just disgusting how they have already sexualised the main female lead, stripped her and almost had her graped. All for the sake of a "storyline". There are at least a dozen different ideas and ways they could have used, yet they chose to objectify women. Really misogynistic and nasty.

Hopefully that's now how the plot proceeds, because I thought this was supposed to be a really great anime?

Absolutely phenomenal to see one of my favorite mangas on the big screen, and to any one who is thrown off by all the weird sexual stuff.

IT GETS TONED ALL THE FUCK DOWN, there is still a little fan service every once in a while, but all the rapey shit practically evaporates pretty quickly.

@MrRant Just fact the creator felt the need to have an underaged high school girl almost get graped is disgusting and should be enough reason to instantly drop this garbage.

Starting off a story by getting both of the main characters sexually assaulted was definitely a choice...
Other than that, the dialogue was humorous, and the art style is really nice to look at. All I can say, is I hope the sexual innuendos and fan service become more tasteful (at the very least).

I really like the bossy attitude of the girl and the fact that the nerd isn't one timid and non verbal stereotype nether. I'll keep watching this one because it's fun, the art is good, so is the animation.

@orekimew I couldn't agree more. It was so weird to see robot d!ck and a stripped teenager and implications of r@pe in the first episode. I'm not like 15 anymore; this isn't "edgy", or making a statement; it's just pointless shock value. I'm struggling to finish this pilot episode. I wish I had just started the Ranma 1/2 show instead. This was disturbing that really soured any impression of wanting to watch more.

@xAlionnnn preach! that excuse just sounds like lazy writing... why do they NEED to sexualize a teenage girl to engage readers? it's weird as hell and it ostracizes the women reading imo. unfortunately it's a common thing for most anime anyway but I'm disappointed that largely, nobody really cares about the sexualization in the first ep and people either ignore it or like it. I saw someone thirsting over momo 🤢 of course they are, thats how they decided to portray her :(

There was some nudity there, but no insinuations of r@pe or robotic d!cks -- that was just tasteless; and I'm not 13, 15 or 17 anymore. Shows should care about the impression they make on viewers. I think people in their late 20's or early/mid 30's are just going to walk away a bit disgusted. Admittedly, anime isn't really for my age-group anymore.

It varies, but generally the tropes are to appeal to a teenage male audience. I immediately lost interest when it became clear what sort of scene it was and the fact that not only was she stripped, she was completely helpless. I just immediately sort of thought, "What the !@#$?" The nerdy side-protagonist didn't even bat an eyelash either. I enjoyed The Apothecary Diaries a bit this past year, and may have to return to it at some point!

When Ranma is splashed with cold water he turns into a girl and turns back with hot water; so there's all sorts of silly shenanigans that come into play. It is an arranged marriage, so I'll have to see how I feel about that later on (or if it's more of a plot device that's never followed through upon). Time will tell!

@Sage_Wist ive seen old episodes of ranma, the concept is interesting. an arranged marriage sounds a little odd but i guess i would have to watch it and see. it would be cool if they talked about the concepts of gender and gender roles and stuff but maybe im being too hopeful 😭 ah the apothecary diaries looked good! definitely will watch that next.

yes, unfortunately, its normal in anime to sexualize girls, even in so-called shonen catered to young boys there are sexual jokes and imagery i.e. naruto, one piece and even mha ;-;. its disturbing that companies would make media like that knowing what their demographic is... admittedly i also stopped watching anime for a long time because i was so fed up with the way female characters were treated and only started again because of attack on titan. i thought i grew out of anime actually. unfortunately, not all adults would walk away from this kind of content—some ignore it some enjoy it :/ and its normal in japan too. Most mainstream media caters to young men anyway because i think that girls will watch media catering to guys i.e. shonen but guys would not typically watch media catering to girls i.e. shoujo so its more profitable to make media for a male audience. its unfortunate but im optimistic. as long as we give media catered towards girls the attention it deserves and constructively criticize media like this we may get good stuff later who knows lol. i for one just try to stay picky about what i watch so i dont get disappointed :D
