Oh Jun just can't seem to let go of his feelings for Rumi.

Luckily, Rumi isn't some arrogant girl an actually pushes him to go out with Naori, at least for a movie date. Seems this anime dances around the idea of romance while making Jun the center of the attention. The overall vibe is similar to the previous episode. Naori is also a sweet girl but nothing out of the ordinary. Jun needs to make up his mind about his own feelings.

This episode was a bit more lighthearted than the last one it still had some heavy parts to but we got more of the promised comedy as well.
I have to say tho there where some movie reference that even someone like me who rarely watched movies notices like Back to the Future and James Bond.
Also the dad is a Star Trek fan and from what he described it was the Next Generation which is one of the best tho it could be Picard as well, the last season was great from that one.
We also got to see a clear difference between the sisters which was nice.

The abrupt jump from the mellow, almost melancholy opening scene to the jammin upbeat OP will probably never get old for me.

To be fair to our dude, Naori looked like she wanted uppies instead of a hug.

Their geeky chemistry is definitely the more entertaining of the two lol

Man I just love the narration style mixed with the OST in this series. Feels so J drama-y. Probably my 2nd fave romance this season.

I love drama and angst so it’s great, but this whole situation is so messy 😭 how you gonna dump him then expose your sisters’ feelings for him without her consent. Jun really getting used as an emotional basketball going back and forth between Naori and Rumi in this.

Did she just smell his bed?? Lmao

“Star Wars is the better science fiction series” ok you know what, actually breaking up with Rumi and dating Naori might be the move lmao. This girl knows what she’s talking about and I love how much of a media merchant she is.

The movie date with Jun and Naori was so cute and Naori’s outfit looked amazing! I definitely feel like they have the better comparability on PAPER anyway because they do share so many of the same interests, both media merchants(need a girl like that myself), both similar sense of humour and can get those witty remarks off so quickly to one another etc. Oh yea and I love a good zettai ryouki shot, even Naori knows what’s up lol. Thigh shots in general went crazy this ep.

But given how everything is going so quickly in their relationship with the confession to them cuddling up in bed together, I feel like something is going to come crashing down soon. Rumi clearly ain’t over her feelings for Jun and I doubt Jun is over his feelings for her, so I fully expect a domekano manga situation that goes back and forth. The clear solution here is polygamy y’all 💀

Also Jun and Naori ending the episode with him rubbing her head as she reads a novel is the cutest shit ever and I NEED THAT.

Honestly, I don't get why this is rated so low. The dialogue at least tries to have some actual depth, compared to other titles that aired the past year. Somebody on the previous episode noticed how Jun seems to be treated as a toyboy, and I kind of have to agree. Dude gets trolled when asking out Naori, and doesn't bat an eye. His ex almost kisses him, but he's still moves on the next day, no second thoughts. There's a few doubts in my mind about how it's going to look going forward, but so far this is a pleasant surprise, definetely not 6.00 worthy.
Edit: I also have to compliment the show on presenting Naori's escapism - I wonder if that'll be mentioned further later on into she show

Authentic cinema, (literally), damn what good references were thrown into this episode.

And of course on the anime side, what catches my attention is the fact that the father figures are present, (it is not common in this type of stories), so I am very interested in what their role will be, that is, you cannot say: "hello sir, madam, I am your daughter's boyfriend" and in a month arrive and say: "nah, now I am your other daughter's boyfriend." @TDSpyder The premise makes it a controversial series, and people seem to gravitate more toward perfect waifus and fluffy romances.

Rumi pressuring Jun really lowered my opinion of her and made me worried that this series is going to be a lot of angst and sorrow.

I'm still fully engaged though. The writing is very good. The banter is delightful, and the characters are interesting, even if I'm mad at Rumi right now.

I still want to know more about Jun. He seems to be as much of a people-pleaser as Rumi, at least. I feel like I don't really know anything else about him yet.

Naori is such a fun character that I feel will end up ''losing'' in the end. Hope not tho

Anime needs to give attention to the MC soon, after 2 eps he feels rather undeveloped.

The premise intrigues me, as well as the potential love triangle/drama, it's just wholly inadequate when it comes to character writing. Jun feels more or less like a blank slate, and it's confusing what exactly his relationship was like with Rumi. Logically, if he was in love with Rumi he should have refused and helped her to understand the flaws in her thinking. But, if he was in love with Naori from the beginning, then dating her sister is a horrible idea for everyone involved. Personally, I think he would have been happy dating either of these cute girls, and otherwise didn't have strong feelings for either one, but we can only speculate because we're pretty much in the dark here.

@WerewolfAshen Technically, he agreed to her request, and we don't know how much time had passed since then. We're in the dark about a lot of details here, especially when it comes to Jun, but I think that we can conclude that if he was in love with Rumi or didn't have any romantic interest in Naori, that he would have refused. At least, that's the only explanation I'm willing to tolerate from a supposedly intelligent male lead.

Naori is the best, hands down. She and Jun have great chemistry and it's fun to see them nerd out so much that Naori forgets she's on an escalator, and they cosplay in their imaginations.

Also, even though they might sound a bit obnoxious with their nerdy talk, it's all part of their charm.

CERTIFIED 1/10 IN MY BOOK BABYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY.

I hate this. I really hate this so fucking much, it's completely insufferable. All the characters' dialogue is so obnoxious and pretentious with their smarty ass pants quirkiness and pop culture references present by the dozen, it's just the author spazzing and rambling stupidly to the interest of none. Also I can't bring myself to watch an entire anime with a main character like that short haired cunt. That's about it on my ride here, at least I can thank this chunk of rhino shit for shaving off another anime to watch this season. I can only wish pain for everyone involved in the creation of this narrative and the approval on a committee level to animate this.

I don't mind the whole premise so I enjoyed the first episode, but now we're exposed to the "nerdy" dialogue and it feels like the writers are trying to make up for all those years of anime and manga avoiding referencing anything by name (e.g. "I'll lend you my favourite shoujo manga", "did you watch the new drama?", etc) by not only referencing other works at a rate beyond the realm of human capability but explaining most of the references. Constant references made in casual conversation is bad enough, but having to explain them solely for the benefit of the audience makes for tedious, stilted dialogue.

If Jun went with Rumi we'd at least get less referential dialogue. Harem route still seems the most pragmatic though.

Everything seems fine on a surface-level. I don't think Rumi would do anything to take back the relationship. It would be so absurd if she does after everything that she's already done to complicate the situation and hurt the other characters. But it seems like Naori is disconnected with the other characters to some degree. She made 2 comments that felt very off due to the way she said it and her facial expression (paraphrasing from memory):
1. "You're so much like our mom" - to Rumi
2. "You like these type of movies, and I know why" - to Jun

She sounds dissatisfied with her current self, and doesn't have someone that she connects with on her on a deep level. I think she wishes that she were more 'normal' like her sister, so she wouldn't feel so isolated.

Good episode overall. The whole nerd vs. normie thing is interesting between the girls, but honestly I'm not really sure which girl is the right fit for Jun. You'd think Naori would be the perfect fit, but I feel like they'll get in to debates about shows and it is going to become a contest of who is the more cultured nerd. Rumi might have been a better fit, but we only saw snippets of it in action and the act of regret is just going to mess with Jun's head.

Looking forward to next week.

Finally, the right pair is here. Rumi seems more straightforward, but once Naori had her chance, she is just as clingy.

The Shirosaki-Jinguji family affair seems like the typical neighbour get-together session, though when it comes to love, Rumi giving her space to Naori for Jun, it's absurd thinking.

In retrospect, Rumi is closer to Jun in everything, even towards Jun's parents, but still, her idea of Jun dating Naori is the one ludicrious idea that he cannot just plainly accept. Other than the men in the families being warships and car buffs, Naori's exemplary knowledge sure puts her far ahead of everyone else. All the movie references are nice and all (including the Back to the Future one with Naori being Marty McFly and Jun being Doc Brown) since the author is a movie buff herself, though the date itself is slayed by Naori just teasing Jun all the way through. The truth, however, is that Naori would prefer her and Jun to be just friends, and so, their relationship just started either way, fulfilling Rumi's wish.

At the very least, both Rumi and Naori are distinguishable.

Yep, Rumi is even more stupid than I thought. This is really such a rude thing to do, and so cringe. Imagine Naori's disappointment when she finds out why Jun asked her out. Although they do have such a great chemistry together and overall I like Naori way more and would root for her. Honestly, it seems like Rumi already blew all of her chances. But I would also like to see Jun's perspective and what he actually thinks about all this, who he liked in the first place, or was he not caring much at all whichever girl to date? But either option doesn't look very appealing considering the situation.

I think Naori is a good girl, but going out with the guy that your sister went out with makes her bad in my eyes. Naori is smart so she could figure out that her sister broke up with him for her, yet she decides to go with it anyway. Honestly, I don't like this girl anymore.

So far, this anime is enjoyable for what it is. Its feels "refreshing"

Sure, the dialogue can come off as "tryhard smart", but its alright for what it is.

Both girls are beauties as well. But I still cant see why are they both madly in love with the male MC, that they are both willing to do "stupid" things for me without any questions asked.

I had higher hopes after how heavy ep1 was. Jun's feelings are completely disregarded and it almost feels like he doesn't even have a saying in his love life lol.

I just can't see how someone can be so okay with dating a twin, getting dumped out of the blue with no reasoning and getting asked to date their twin sister right after getting dumped... I hope that at the very least his feelings will be addressed in a form of flashbacks because there's no way anyone could be okay with this, especially in such a short timeframe

I think i feel bad for Jun here. Rumi really loves overcomplicating things and not allowing him to have a chance to express himself. She just broke up with him on the whim because she felt like her sister is a better match than her, but the fact is she didn't realise Jun chose HER not Naori and it's not fair in his part to force him into a relationship. Plus, Rumi is still awfully close to him and I think I understand cuz it seems Jun is more likely to choose Naori in the end and so far Rumi doesn't share the same interests with him as Naori does.

But what I like about this show is how it explores the twins' perspective rather than the guy's and it's kind of a breath of fresh air for me.. I could think of another anime where a guy is in love with twin sisters but that would be another story.

I understand that romance with twins usually tries to be "fair", but the more it goes on, I feel like Rumi is the main girl since Jun x Naori seems like an artificial True Tears style cruel plot from her.

@Marinate1016 Overall, as a Star Wars fan, I will say that this is truly better. But the current state of the franchise as a whole, considering the Acolyte that just ended...

@LostSpectre I wouldn't be surprised if Jun's POV is intentionally left for the end so as not to spoil which girl he really loves. Some show already used this trick, but I forgot the name.

It appears that Jun actually still likes Rumi, and vice versa. In this episode, Jun finally goes on a date with Rumi's younger sister, Naori.

Not sure if it's just me, but I personally think that romantically, Rumi is a better choice for Jun. The relationship between Jun and Naori has always been like that of best friends, really close. They have more or less the same interests, namely in the fields of film and books. Therefore, they often exchange opinions about a book or film, for example. Going out with Naori might be like dating your closest friend, not awkward rather pretty open.

Im not even sure, ep 1 ended so abruptly.

This ep was almost entirely naori based
Not much rumi. at least, like the opposite of ep 1

It still feels like just an extension of ep 1
Naori is definitely very interesting, what happens with rumi and naori
No ed this time. ep 1 had both an op and ed. a less abrupt ending this time i guess, its kinda open ended as to whats gonna happen next
Not quite sure about rumi, naori sounds very familiar. And uhh.
