The plot of Yu-Gi-Oh! is that Yami Yugi, known as Yuugi Ou (Game King), faces villains in a Game of Darkness or death game using various games. These situations include debt, life and death, soul taken/freed, etc. This is all in the 1st 59 chapters of the manga, which tells you what the story is about.
