As the Kingdom of Fourland proceeds with the coronation on making Prince Louis the new king, San Galgano is on the kill, and High Card makes all preparations to escort the people out of danger. At the very least, Finn and Chris are also on the scene debating on how to deal with the Black Knight, and Wendy has to convert to her Love-P alter ego to evenly match her strength with it, thus stopping it from reaching the Joker, which the King is protecting with all his might. If Plan A's negotiating with him doesn't work, then stopping him is the only way out. Louis only knows the real fact after his brother Noah forced him, which Sugar Peace managed to stop him from killing his own brother.

The Joker must be protected at all costs, and their Plan B by distracting San Galgano with the valuable card with Chris, it's a lot of work. Tilt's consciousness may have faded, but Chris's sacrifice this time to extract San Galgano from him, even that does not work, which leads Finn to execute the last shot against his only leftover family brother.

With the dark shadow cast on Fourland, High Card is back to business as usual, like never before.

Certainly a very rushed ending, no question about it.

Still though, as a whole, High Card is interesting...if on a poker level.

Just found out that New Nambu is a real gun.
19:48 He actually said "If we have the cards, we will always be together"

22:34 I had to go to the High Card wiki to see that the ace of spades is Love-P, I forgot :p

Nice ending. RIP Flann. I want to know what happened to the king though, I guess he's still on his deathbed.
Also this episode looked super good in terms of animation!

7/10
Pretty cool series.
I doubt there will ever be a sequel, I think they'll just continue extending the universe in other types of media like manga, dramas, etc.

Well that was a satisfying conclusion to the season. I think by the way they handled the reveals all throughout as well as the characters and the stakes that there probably won't be another one and that's fine enough with what we got. Even if this one felt a little slow and lackluster in animation and style by the beginning, the narrative and the tension more than made up for it, leaving me waiting eagerly for the end. Good tracks, good jazz, good season.

Not bad for an original(???) anime but can not compete with other anime in this season.

PS just found out this is not the end yet, there's one episode left but not sure when or how it'll release.

What really bothers me is that I'd usually have a lot of feels with what happened between finn and his brother, but this show has been becoming progressively more boring so by now I feel nothing.

Solid High Card finale with some decent action and pretty emotional there at the end. Idk, I felt like despite the expanded lore and plot twists, second season/second cour didn’t hit like the first. Still, I enjoyed it and recommend checking it out.

As for the finale itself, we basically get presented with a tale of two sets of brothers in Finn and Flann and the two princes. Prince Noah trying to take his brother out for selfish personal gain and Finn ultimately taking out Flann to save the kingdom.

I hate that Flann and Fin never really got to catch up. As soon as Fin found out that was his brother, they were basically fighting nonstop until the end there. Heartbreaking this all took place on his birthday too.. :/ but on the bright side, if there’s no body that means there’s a chance.. right?

San Galgano attack actually worked out perfectly because Ban Klondike’s death gets explained to the people of fourland and now the royal family’s misinformation bs is done. That shot of Fin grabbing the cards after he wakes up is tough too 🔥

Wonder how they’ll expand on this story in other media sources. Definitely think there’s some interesting directions it can go in

Looks like the 25th episode will be a special episode dedicated to Vjay's past. Hopefully we will get another season that focuses on the aftermath of San Galgano's attack on the royal palace and High Card's mission to continuing collecting all the cards.

Eh, I was hoping that Finn would eventually destroy the anomaly in the form of playing cards, but only Sugar did the job. Overall, the season is worse than the first and the backstory of the cards only created a big logical hole. There's only episode 25 left, but it's unlikely to be a good ending to two seasons.

I thought that this finale was decent as it gave good closure although Flann's body was not found and the condition of the king at the end was not disclosed.

Regarding the series as a whole I thought the animation and character designs were good and while the storyline was decent it sometimes felt like it deviated or dragged on from the main part. Nonetheless it was a good watch. 7/10

What a finale for the season! I was really worried with how much had to be done in just this episode. And while some things are still missing, they didn't rush anything today and showed some great moments with Wendy's fight, Sugar's revenge and, of course, the final battle!

Overall it's very tough to rate this. Because it highly depends on whether this is a season finale or a series finale. We already have confirmation for another "episode", but that seems to be the missing Vijay-centric episode. As I said in the previous episodes, there's too much left untold to leave it at that. Hopefully we will see more of High Card. And hopefully the content will be available in english!

As for the second season's review - it was gladly not another G-Witch or Birdie Wing that completly falls apart. I'd say it more or less kept the standart of the first season. Although the peak of the show (so far) was the last few episodes of S1 for me.

This season, especially in the second half, was very fast-paced. While it was not rushed to a point where I could no longer follow or the enjoyment suffered, I do wish they had taken it a bit slower. For one it was often a lot to process and for the other the characters, a very strong point of the show, didn't really have the time to shine. Some, like Sonic Move or the girl Wendy saved, were so cool and a waste for just one episode. Norman and Brendy still didn't get to show their powers. And even the main characters didn't get their "moments" due to the plot taking up so much space.

That said, the show still kept amazing action, intriguing mysteries that kept me thinking all week, great characters & relationships and a very detailed, well-thought setting & plot. Pretty much all the stuff I praised in S1 is still there. Plus we got some great backstory for Theodore, Ban and Young. I just want to highlight that again. But because this show has so much potential, I really want to see more.

Besides that, with a great finale High Card has a very good chance to be my first show to win my personal "Anime of the Season" twice. Depends on Yuuki Bakuhatsu Bang Bravern's finale. But unless they also offer a continuation, I'm pretty sure it will be High Card.

As for the rating, it's 9/10 once agian.

Intense and emotional finale!!

Wendy Love-P vs San Galgano was Fire 🔥🔥🔥
Sugar got her revenge for Captain Young.

Well deserved ending imo.
It was sad to see Finn taking out Flann but also beautiful in some way.

Very interesting concept for an Original Anime, the characters was also likeable and i would say well written for the protagonist side and also the antagonist side.
Shout-out to Kakegurui Author, it's because of him the reason i made a decision to watch High Card.

It's sad to see High Card wasn't get popular enough.

7/10 for me.
It was a good Original Anime with unique power systems imo.

Apparently there is one episode left just got announced???
Special episode??

Anyway more content of High Card is definitely welcome.

Good show. 8/10. Yes the end felt a bit rushed and very sudden. More lik an 7.5 rounded up - for me. Since I already had Hikari no Ou and Daigo with 7 only ... I wanted to give an 8 here. The story at least had some conclusion and was not too complicated/complex. (And no long recaps. :D) A few nice fights and nice moments at the end. And it seems now High Card and the police are working together.

One more episode at the end - to show what is happening after this ... would have been better. A bit more dialogue with the King and the older prince. Overall it was satisfying though. The plot was nice. The background episodes were nice. And the build-up as well. (Could have been better with less char focused episodes in S1 and S2 to flesh out the main plot a bit more and make it less rushed at the end.)

There have been slightly worse 2-cour originals - or stuff based on games but with afaik anime-original plot - though. (With similar setting: Modern stuff mixed with medieval/fantasy themes: Magatsu Wahrheit and the Fairy Gone for example.)

I think the new announced episode will be char/background episodes for Vijyay mainly?

Wow what a good season man the fight with San Galgano was actually really good that knight is fucking OP asf nothing was getting past bro and the black hole that appeared when Finn shot Flann was so overkill I’m surprised the creators made Finn who has the weakest card kill the strongest card which was cool to me tbh🤩

While this season was amazing I still think season 1 was great with the exploration of powers that the cards can do while this season focused more on the Black Knight which isn’t a problem but tbh I’d like to see the other cards and what powers they hold tbh that would be so cool to see🤔

The animation was amazing tbh, this studio did not miss once with the art and animation once in both seasons so good on them🔥🔥

Looks like Sugar is working with Pinochle which is nice tbh she’s filling in the shoes of her former captain + I’ll miss hearing Takahashi Rie tho😫

Idk why this has a 6.99 I mean I give this original anime a good 8/10 the plot and the usage of cards with different powers was really unique to me if anything I think this show should hovering at around 7.50 but hey not everyone can enjoy a nice story like this one🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

I don't think they even planned the whole Tilt being Finn's brother be the whole plot from the start lol, it was kind of a mess.

Still pretty underrated with the fight scenes alone (even as inconsistent as it is), and I really don't think I'll even see someone mentioning this show ever again unless it somehow gets a sequel.

The ending wasn't all about everyone winning, some had to lose their precious things all along the way. Enjoyed this season, was way better than S1, hope it gets another season.

The royal family, Theodore, and Owen all sucked ass.

It would have been great if they all died, Theodore should have stayed dead.

Sugar still sucks, i don't like her character at all, but at least she is working with high card now rather than against them.

High Card needs become their own organization that actually lets people like Sonic Move and Aya keep their cards. They should only focus on taking cards from people using them for evil purposes.

Also Finn should have just killed Lala like he requested, it would have solved nearly everything that happened after that moment.

Well, this was realy stupid, Finn could have finish everything by doing what Lala wanted...like...there was no reason NOT to do it.

But I guess then it would have to be the end of this anime and they wanted to prolong it lol.
