Am I the only one hating on the OP/ED?

Ok, the opening was alright. But that's a problem in itself, it was just alright. No song to burn my soul, n oARISE vibe, just the usual apoilers and what to me (a person who's watched over 600 other animes and who knows how many ops) just seemed well done for the sake of being "done".

And the ending... Yeah no, not putting that on any playlist. It was maybe just my taste but just no. I felt like I was suddenly watching a slice of life anime's ending.
I appreciate all the people who worked hard on these, I know how it is in Japan's anime industry but...
It's the most anticipated anime of 2024 for pete's sake. Am i wrong to be greedy in thinking they could've done better?

The opening, more or less, feels like something to get the audience sort of pumped or excited for the episode while the ending hints a bit of foreshadowing and direction for Jinwoo given the appearance of small spaces, long hallways, and resolution changes with different aspects ratios such as 4:3:

From a personal note, I think both are relatively good but not the best among this season.

the opening is so bad it's not even funny. while it excels in the artwork and I can tell people worked really hard on it, it is by far the worst lyrics to any anime intro I have ever heard. it tries to make it seem hype and tries to be inclusive but theres no depth, and frankly I hope it's the last of its kind. but maybe I just see it that way because I'm introverted so it doesn't appeal to me personally. I'm sure most people like it but it is a definite skip from me I might watch it one or two more times throughout the season.

Try to appreciate someone's work. You are not appreciating by telling that you are but ur post makes sure of that, moreover the ECHO song tbh, is not even better than this one.

The singers must have spend months trying to make a song that matches the time of the show. It happens every time, not that easy to make soundtracks and songs.

If u r too much irritated then replay the Domestic Girlfriend Opening and watch the show. Just skip it. Why making a whole hate post.

I picked up this anime on a whim without watching the trailer just because it's the most anticipated anime of the season and I have nothing else to watch. I don't know anything about the story or the manga or anything so I don't know if it fits the vibe. Basically you can discard my opinion on the opening song.

That being said, the opening song is straight fire. I've listened to it like 10 times today.

The ed is better than the op, but both of them are just alright. The ed doesn't fit at all tho, because it feels like some sort of psychological anime while SL is just another power fantasy.

Yes you are the only one hating on the op and Ed. Both gorgeous visually, the Ed was especially creative in presentation. The song for the op was decent not the best but still a 7/10. The Ed was great song wise tho and tbh like an 8/10

It’s by far the best visually this season. Unless we are counting one piece i suppose but that one’s so stacked it’s unfair. The ending is also by far the best visually this season. Anyone who thinks otherwise either 1. Hasn’t watched the other endings this season cuz oh boy the rest of them suck or 2. Doesn’t understand how cool the vibe and animation is. Even if the song isn’t it for you which I’ll admit the op is lackluster there, it’s certainly atleast one of the best looking openings this season and probably of the year

ED…when did a glitched tv, a guy laughing in a falling elevator, a burning tree and a door that open without anyone do it become a part of a slice of life? What kind of slice of life have you watched bro 🗿

tbh i already knew the song on op was going to meh but they went beyond my imagination with that animation tbh 8.5 ed dont really care tbh , tbh i didnt find the op that spoilerish its just him fighting monsters and ppl dont even know who those monster are they probably will just think its fillerish monsters the only spoiler i would say its when he is scrolling on the system but at the end of the ep they basicly showed the system or them showing fitwoo but at this point everyone one knows that the mc i mean he is on the poster and the trailers so not really big spoilers imo

I thought it was just me. Glad I'm not only one. Yeah, I also found songs average. Not bad, but pretty much mediocre. Especially to something hyped as Solo Leveling.
Shangri-La Frontier both OP1 and OP2 can fit Solo Leveling more than this OP. Honestly, every single song that Hiroyuki Sawano composed before, was epic.
I guess I'll never hear anything near similar to Bios from him anymore.
