 An official website opened for a television anime adaptation of Synecdoche's Elf-san wa Yaserarenai. (Plus-Sized Elf) manga on Monday, revealing the main cast and a teaser visual (pictured). The anime is set for a 2024 premiere.Voice actress Ayasa Itou (Teppen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) is starring as Erufuda. Synecdoche drew the comedy fantasy manga in Web Comic Gum from December 2016 to May 2021. Akita Shoten shipped the eighth and final volume in November 2021. A sequel manga titled Shin Elf-san wa Yaserarenai. (Plus-Sized Elf: Second Helping!) began in Dokodemo Young Champion magazine in November 2021. The second volume was released last February, with the third volume is scheduled for a January 18 release. Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the manga and its sequel in English in November 2017 and March 2023, respectively. The eighth and final volume of the original manga was released in December 2022. The sequel manga's first volume went on sale in September 2023, with the second volume scheduled for a February 20 release. Synopsis Naoe-kun, a massage therapist, is about to head home for the day when he's saddled with a rather strange patient. This lovely lady has emerald eyes, pointy ears, and grew up in the forest–everything about her screams "elf," except for one thing: her bodacious body. It turns out she left her world but loves junk food in this one, and now her obsession has caught up with her. Can Naoe-kun help this lovable elf girl lose the weight–and keep it off? I know outside of anime yes, but in anime, Ayasa has never work outside of Bushiroad before. I know she worked in KR last year and solo work as well, so sooner than later, she will get moving on from that company and work on her own.

An ecchi-haremnick about girls from another world who, for some reason, have come to the human world, gained weight and are trying to lose weight. It will be silly and hot at the same time, the anime will go to all lovers of big boobs and lovers of good food. |

@RobertBobert I know Aimi did it for more than a decade, I never thought Ayasa even played a major character like the former, until last year.

And given that the show wasn't marketed as a waifu bait or CGDCT, I think it could easily be considered a "free role". But wait and see. It took Inori Minase 3 to 5 years to finally move beyond CGDCT in her time. |

| @Kenchiin The manga itself isn't really fatphobic. The therapist mostly just encourages her to be healthy and gets mad when she doesn't. The only really mean moments are when 2 of the fat elves start to insult each other. (There's a whole dark elf vs light elf rivalry) |
