IRL most doctors will tell their patients that they will be saved, but in reality, its neither possible nor impossible. they only say this just to give hope to the patient and that they can fight throu it.

There is some studies linking lower stress to better patient outcomes. Though it is uncertain if this is a causal link or just correlational where they have less reason to worry thus less stress. But regardless it would make sense a doctor would try to keep someone calm.

I've read the manhwa, in terms of story it was very good when I knew that the anime would be coming out, even though the story line was a bit slow, but in terms of character depiction, animation and voice acting it was good, almost similar to what I imagined and saw in the manhwa. I hope the studio remains consistent in improving the quality of the story and animation, thank you.

Hmm, they're animating a lot of manhua this season. I don't mind IF it's voiced as a Japanese Dub, heck, I prefer it that way...but using a different kind of voice lang. because its origin is not from Japan is rather meh. kekw

Anyway, the OP & ED were decent but the story unfolded here were rather confusing. Maybe rewatching this episode could make it more clearer... sigh. (Nvm, reading the premise makes a lot more sense)

My question for this series: will there be a "swords and magic" plot in this series or not? lol 😂

Going back to the topic. The OP was rather nice as it looks like I'm listening to an oldies song for older anime which was a rather nostalgic feeling that I got, also, listening to the ED is rather, lonesome? 😖

It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

This surely seems interesting (and the Opening is also very nice). I really wonder what she did the first time that she was executed but I'm curious to find out... It's nice to see she dedicated her life to save lives even until her death :(. There's a lot of potential for a good build-up and it was an interesting introduction to the story. Although I wonder if Aoi's life fades into the background while she is back to being Elise (as it usually does).

I'm also slightly worried that this is yet another female MC who's way too OP and can't do any wrong and everybody simply loves her (I'm a little tired of this to be honest. So I hope I'm wrong). There was a lot of hype for this anime but I will try to stay open minded to the story (knowing nothing about it).

Also the German made me cringe but at least they tried :D

So I've read the manhwa and I'm not a big fan of it (YES YES EVERYONE LOVES IT BUT I DON'T). And I can already see the problems I had with it here.

First of all, they're making her out to be this Mary Sue character, which was one of the things I hated in the manhwa. As a doctor, she is not able to save every single patient. Saying "I promise I'll save you" over and over again is not only unrealistic but also idealistic and feels overly romantisiced. Also, the way she saved that guy on the plane, yeah, no way.
Second of all, I do like that we got to see more of her life in our world but at the same time it makes no sense cause it's gonna be absolutely irrelevant for the remainder of the show unless they change some major plotpoints

Third, and this is just a personal pet peeve as an airplane geek. Ain't no freaking way that airplane sequence was realistic. Not only is the first thing Captain is doing making the passengers panic, but there was a shudder and the oxygen masks came down?? Like there were no signs of depressurization at all. And are you telling me they lost all hydraulic power even before the explotion of the engine 1?? And it went down immediately? Not only that, if it did go down immediately, it hit the ground with very high speed and surely with fire in the engine the plane would have exploded upon impact but no, some survived with minor injuries cause the...wing with the engine on fire split off? Upon impact? Yeah, no freaking way. I just hate how this was added in the anime to showcase her abilites as a surgeon.
@CallMeAi The part about her being a Mary Sue and making it seem like she could save every single patient bothered me too. And when she was promising she would save the one girl's mom I immediately remembered what one Youtube once said (he's a doctor) "We never do that"- It's just unrealistic. And I feel like even in a fictional setting they should't go overboard just to show how amazing her character is. Which seems to be a trend nowadays. Writing the female MC so over the top flawless and overpowered it's annoying. And your comment kind of confirmed my worries for this one (unless it's different from the source material).

Somehow, this first episode feels like a Korean drama from the 2010s... especially the opening! hahaha ;'D it's really nostalgic.

But it's interesting, she reincarnated into the modern world then back again reincarnated (?) into her original body. Has anyone read the manhwa here? If so, will Elise fall in love with the black-haired man again? Or is there a new guy? ~

She not only got a chance to atone for her sins, whatever they might be, in a new life, but also got a chance to redeem herself in her original life by once again starting clean. Lucky? Nah. She deserves it. She just saved a plane full of survivors with no real equipment and all while bleeding out. The anime gods saw her and said nope, you're work ain't finished yet.

Was gonna skip out on this one for looking bland and generic, but I'm glad I didn't. This just might be a very fulfilling watch.

So she’s a girl, reincarnated as another girl, reincarnated again as the first girl? god making her reload that save lol. Looks like it was Boeing-kun not truck-kun this time that did her in. She was pretty close to surviving that crash too. Well, here we go again. Again lol.
I’m really liking these Korean works getting adapted. We had Raeliana and then Solo Leveling and now this. Looking forward to seeing how this one unfolds.

@leonardobarba quite true, even in a battlefield a medics job is to patch up the wounded regardless of their own safety. there was one movie that was also based on WWII which a lone medic saved every injured soldier in the battlefield.

@TemplarXIII Having all these women gushing over how perfect she was is exactly what you see from woke Marvel "writers" doing self-inserts.

every anime has that scene, even high school anime. lets say Highschool DxD for example the main female lead has alot of female and male fans gushing over her beauty and skills.
@Kujou_Kyou Combat medics are amazing. They do their job with minimum concern about their own life. They are heroes.

I really enjoyed this when it was a manwha since it was one of my first. I had a lot of issues with some of the writing for Elise though, it felt very one-dimensional at times. I kind of like how much they changed in the first episode since got to know Elise's life as Aoi more, albeit the awkward pacing it created. We get a better sense of her determination and her goals than we did in the manwha

Quite interesting,

This counts as both Reincarnated (born into another world in a different body)

And Isekai (traveling into another world by way of parallel world of her original world)

.

Since she died as 1st body, reborn into 2nd body, died as 2nd body, send back in time to 1st body. Literally went in 360 circle, lol

.

Tho, this is probably going to be similar to other "healer/doctor" Isekai series where she just use her OP modern knowledge to heal people, lol.

But I guess the difference is Elise isn't going to have "special powers", maybe... judging by all the flash backs, the setting is just old England, lol. They literally called their country, Britia...

i hope the whole show isnt in that world i would much rather a show about her doing medicine in the real world

i basically want House M.D. as an anime

the only other medical anime ive seen is the gene of ai which is a great show but its not about real medicine

i relate to genius characters like aoi or even like house

Besides all the cheesy original dialogue I remember the manhwa having largely accurate/ reasonable medical stuff in it but
- Saving people on the plane without triaging? (fixing a closed fracture first)
- Pulling out a penetrating object without adequate equipment around/ any means for resuscitation, and
- Cutting open a person somewhere largely unsterile?
- A general/ HBP surgeon doing coronary bypass??

Wtf

@Wildflower3 I went into this hoping they would change the problems I had with the manhwa, we'll have to see the rest but so far there's a possibility they might change some things (altho the changes in ep 1 was only to highlight her even more as this amazing doctor so I don't have my hopes up)

Damn, my comment went away before I posted it. That sucks. Anyways, there are so many things wrong with this anime. Well, it seems like Elise is a girlboss. Doctors don't get into their full gear until they're in the OR because of possible contamination from the outside. So the fact that she walked in with gloves already on is inaccurate. Doctors typically only specialize in one body part. The fact that she performed surgery for pancreatic cancer and is flying out to Germany to do a heart bypass, please... stop with the nonsense. That's why the have cardiologist, urologist, dermatologist, ENTs, etc. And the fact that she performed surgery without any sterilization, wtf. She was able to save everyone except herself? What is this??? The scene of her falling out of the airplane was funny tho. Ngl I might have to drop this one lol this was painful to watch.

Manhwa author Yuin's Webtoon, feels a bit sane like Summer 2022's Isekai Yakkyoku a.k.a Parallel World Pharmacy.

Yui Ishikawa's OP and Maju Arai's ED are what about I expect from a show like this.

For much of the former Empress of Britia, Elise de Clorence's life as Song Ji-hyun (or in Japanese romanticization, Aoi Takamoto) before her reincarnation dying Final Destination-like on a plane crash, she is highly revered as Toutei University Hospital's Surgeon Queen, being able to save as many lives as possible under her capable hands. And this Isekai...it's a reverse Isekai where she is able to live a second life in the modern world, although living with the parental abandonment as she had in the fantasy world, and not letting that stop her from becoming a surgeon.

But the trip to Munich to help operate a surgery where she finds herself on the verge of a plane crash, Aoi does not want to relive the same life back in her fantasy world, and miraculously finds herself alive to a widespread surgery on whoever she could find to save their lives, though her own life is not spared either...and finds herself back in the same world where she came from with her pet owl Pallas, being able to see her family again.

Still not quite sold on this, though the reverse Isekai process is what holds my intrigue for now.

I have mixed feelings with Isekai then being Reverse Isekai'd premise but....at least this is way better than that one anime they had a while back where there was also a dude/hero that was also Isekai'd then Reverse Isekai'd only to have everyone else still realize it was him (can't recall the name of the anime at the moment but I digress...)

My only gripe about this first episode is that I personally think it went WAY too much detail into the "surgeon" life she had in my opinion.

Examples:
She has bad handwriting, is that important? Who cares?
Did we really have to see her trying to save the other passengers after the actual crash? IMO No and I feel like it's totally unrealistic that people even survived seeing how mangled the plane came out (not that I'd want to argue the physics of that with someone but whatever)

TLDR: I think this "bit" could've been covered in half the time it took but for now I'm giving this the benefit of the doubt that the next episode has something that "can't be broken up" and the "extra padding" was necessary in lieu of a more awkward cliffhanger.

a friend once told me that majority of the doctors iRL had bad handwriting.
actually, that depends and its by chances. some plane crashes mostly on the ocean you get 0%.
even a youtube video known as Epic How to describe things in detail on how one person can survive a plane crash. even in the past there are people who survived a plane crash and lived to tell the tale of it.

here's an example
Phil Bradley, who was the sole survivor in the 1959 crash of Piedmont Airlines Flight 349 near Crozet, Virginia.

Not sure how I feel actually, it's been a while since I read the webcomic, but this hasn't particularly felt like the same story so far. The art style is definitely different and the animation is good with scenes with blood and operating. First time I'm watching an anime like this even though I've read my fair share of "doctor isekai"s.
@3D2E I agree. I felt dissapointed, when I read that it was going to be adaptes I read the whole manwha again, and my god. A visit to the dentist is more entertaining.

@Kujou_Kyou Gee thanks for singling me out but missing my point (aka: the TL:DR)

We're not watching a documentary, Unless there's going to be tons of flashbacks and references to the "crashed plane aftermath" later on or the "bad handwriting" there was no point to wasting minutes mentioning it imo.

'Cause I know with how similar the premise is to Tearmoon Teikoku, I'm here thinking about the comedy over there but at the same time I don't think the comedy will be as crazy there as it would be here ahahah
If anything I feel like this could be more like Seijo no Maryoku wa Bannou desu with lighthearted moments but without too much excess on comedy so it's curious how this'll pan out consdiering I see the comedy tag there

@fast2611 Writers don't even need to do a deep research. Just general research plus common sense would do.
But I definitely agree the focus of this anime seems to be more on gushing over our super OP MC.

@fast2611 Sorry, I phrased it wrongly. In my opinion setting a story mainly around the female main character is not the way to go for me and isn't considered good writing in my opinion. Which is what they are doing here. Yes, the protagonist is always the most important part but worshiping her and the path she walks isn't it.

And I'm saying this as someone who likes to write (strong) female characters which have a lot of knowledge and are capable. But world-building and room for character development are vital too and you can't develop "perfect" characters.

But of course I hope you will like it more than I do so far...

I just know it wasn't because I didn't like the first episode. And when I returned to anime I had forgotten about it. I will try to pick it up again when I will have the time in-between this season :). Thank you.
@Wildflower3 I hope it'll be of your liking then^^ Yona herself probably is one of the best written characters in anime, and the anime adapts the portion of the (also very good) manga it covers almost perfectly, both in visual presentation and convincing voice acting

All I can say is so far so good. I do like that they expanded on the plane crash and the art style changes they've made.

Waste a whole episode pointlessly.
And for what?
The next episode will be the the real first one ... (I hope)

Not the most interesting anime ever so far, but I'll keep watching anyway. Might hit some good points.

I personally find this episode to be okayish. I find the directing here to be lacking. The story covered in episode is good but the way they presented it here was not good. Instead of enhancing the impact of story, the direction reduced the impact of story.

It went a more generic isekai route with accident taking place first, then the flashback (here flashback story is the real deal) & finally the isekai life. I personally feel the latest flashback story should be shown first then the secondary flashback (as shown here) then the accident & the isekai life aka a more straightline direction would've enhanced the impact here.
