| Not a bad finale, it was more sad than scary tho. The spooks didn’t work for me here as much because it happened so fast, I feel like it could have been scarier with more time devoted to the music box and not so much the story with the shop owner and his family, but the fact they focused on that aspect more made the ending more sad so I guess I can appreciate that. And that was the end, I’d say overall this was a pretty good season, I sadly can’t really list all of my favorites from this season since the episodes air a week apart from each other which causes me to forget which ones I especially liked, but I do remember liking “White Flower” and “Sairen Station” a lot, I’m sure there were others too. And comparing this to previous seasons, I’ve only seen up to Season 5 as of rn but I think I’d rank it on the lower side, maybe on par or slightly above Season 4 which a lot of people hated, but I’m more appreciative of different flavors of horror so even with it ranked lower, I still enjoyed it quite a bit. And of course the ED for this one was a nice jam, kinda spooky sounding too, here’s to hoping if they make more of these that they can top some of the best of this series! |

| at all, it was a good season. I thought that would be better if made as appear at first: quotations of previous seasons. For me, the best seasons still is 1,2, and 10 ("what happened in the tunnel" (ep 07) is the most creepy of all, for me). I still accept other 10 seasons... |

| Man, wth? That made me cry more than anything. What the heck, our man didn't tell you to buy the music box. I love music boxes and would totally buy that, but I know if my soul got zipped into it I wouldn't be hating like that. Damn. Rude af when the man was just trying to live his life. Anyway, I liked the season actually. Unfortunately, I'm quite spooked by ghosts specifically instead of like goblins, monsters, and such, so this is likely to make me look around more if I'm left on my own. Thankfully, I try to have a pretty okay relationship with ghosts and such if they exist, so I'm not like super afraid but it's at least a good reminder to stay respectful, don't go to haunted places, and be ready to run. I swear a lot of these ended with the characters not being prepared to gtfo. Like the funeral home like the dude tripped. Yeah, no tripping for me. If I do trip, I'll be ready to get back up and I'll be crawling like a ninja or something. You don't stop. Or like the one where the possessed friend caught up to him on his eternal chase after 20 years. Like nope, be ready to leave your job and gtfo. Head on over to Finland or something because it's not going down. Save money to just keep moving or something. Anyway, I'm rambling. It wasn't a bad season-- just by how much I'm typing I can see it's got me thinking about things. Not every episode was good, but I think some were okay. Some just ended so bad though, dang-- some even left me with more questions than anything. I kinda liked the theme of this season: revisit and return. It already as a spooky premise. Overall, it wasn't awful. I was expecting less. Watching the bulk of the episodes in October was a good start to the spooky season. |

| Great ending. Actually a good season. I not really remember to the other season. There are few episode i remember for some reason but not all. Anyway, i wonder how many season they going to do... we already have S12... |
| I'm a bit disappointed that this was just a regular episode. The coolest thing Yami Shibai does is occasionally dipping into the lore of the framing device in the finales, and considering how everything last season seemed to be about ending, and the new OP is possible the creepiest one they've had yet, I was hoping this season finale would explore that. Especially since the season started with a sequel episode, would've been fitting to end with something deeper to the show. But that aside, this was actually my favourite episode of the season. Besides the shop owner himself, the souls of those trapped in the music box visually looked kinda lame, and I wouldn't say this was effective as horror on that front, but thankfully it wasn't the focus. The horror here was more what the Shop Owner lost, a chance to repair his relationship with his daughter and a chance to further develop a relationship with his granddaughter. Him saving them from the music box at the end is a nice bittersweet sort of ending, that's pretty effective I think. In part because of how his soul's depicted, but largely because I do really like the music box melody. It didn't really sound that good when creepy, but in general it was a nice little melody that helped the ending. As for the season as a whole, well Music Box is in part my favourite because it's the only one I really connected with. That's not to say there aren't other good episodes, I also liked episodes 3, 7, & 10, but the rest of them are either meh, or outright bad. I mentioned it in the Season 10 finale episode, but nowadays bad seasons of Yami Shibai are kind of just there. While easier seasons were bad due to fundamental mistakes in their directions (season 3's monster design or 4's over-reliance on narration), we now just get a bunch of stories that are largely meh. It means were less likely to get truly awful episodes, but it makes it less interesting to talk about. Either way, I'd say the truly bad episodes this season were 6 and 9, though I would say episodes 1, 5, and 12 weren't good either. Episodes 2, 4, 8, & 11 I'd say I'm meh towards. This isn't really a great ratio, and I do think this is one of the weaker seasons. I wouldn't say it's as bad as 3 or 4 though, so I think I'll go with a 4/10 for this season. And since a few people here were mentioning their favourite seasons, I still say 6 is my favourite of the bunch. After that I'd say 1, 8, & 7 would make up the top four seasons of the show for me. |
