As I mentioned in my previous post, I watched 500 episodes of One Piece through explanation videos. I skipped many arcs and episodes in the Wano Arc because I found some parts to be childish. However, when I saw a short video about the ending of One Piece, I realized that if I spend the entire journey with One Piece, it will have a significant emotional impact on me when it finally ends. After such a long journey, there will be no more episodes, and I truly appreciate the One Piece fandom. All One Piece fans are more mature than everyone else. So, should I rewatch One Piece or not? Watching one episode per day might be a good idea. But I can't decide which language to watch it in. I've created a poll with a date for people who are One Piece fans to tell me which is better to watch: sub or dub. Also, please share your favorite Straw Hat member. Mine is:

Nami

Nico Robin

Luffy

Sanji
Zoro Rorororo

You can honestly never ad this as complete when it's ending if you have not watched everything normally :) But it's just my opinion.

I'm not much of a fan anymore of One Piece. I think the series turned for the worse after the "great war" or whatever it was. Before they arrived at Fishmen Island under the sea, or whatever that place was called now. Every arc turned way too long after the war and got cringe and a bit of a pain to watch sometimes.
As for dub or sub, I did re-watch some parts in the web in dubs when I was a fan and it was hell. So does not fit the characters, as it does in 99% of every anime. I'd prefer subs all day.

And as favorite character, I compare to their background story. Before they became a pirate group.
It would be Nami first. Her background story is great. I still think it's a great background story.
Then; Zoro, Sanji, Brook, Usopp.

I prefer the dub. The voices are just mostly better, imo, but not to diss the Japanese cast. I've been watching it subbed with a friend, and found Luffy's voice to be a little annoying at times. Also, I watched the moment in Water 7/Ennies Lobby with Robin in both dub and sub, and I gotta say the performance, I thought, was better in the dub. Just my opinion though. That, and Usopp's and Franky's voice actors are perfectly cast, and Chopper is cute. Brook's VA is great to. There all great.

It's hard to pick a favorite character, but mine would be currently:
- Zoro
- Usopp
- Chopper
- Sanji
- Luffy

I skipped many arcs and episodes in the Wano Arc because I found some parts to be childish.

Then perhaps consider not watching the rest of the anime because literally every arc has childish moments due to Oda's sense of humor.

All One Piece fans are more mature than everyone else.

No, they aren't. I've been a member of this fandom for over a decade and there's nothing particularly mature about One Piece fans; go on X and you'll see them posting annoying memes on a daily basis and having pointless debates about power scaling that often devolve into flame wars, among other things. In fact it's kind of ironic that you call parts of Wano "childish" yet believe that One Piece fans are mature.

So, should I rewatch One Piece or not?

If you've already seen some parts of the anime, then I don't think you'll get anything new out of re-watching them. However if you do then obviously subbed is the way to go. That's true for most anime, not just One Piece.

both are good. but subs do it better in more seens than dub. obviously JP voice actors have more experience. and they have been doing it for a long

but if you don't understand Japanese then watching dub will be easy. and will give good experience. I watched dub around 700 episode. and switch to sub.
so watch dub and at first and then switch to sub when you're hardly invested in one pice.

and for the amount of episod per day at least watch 3 to 5 episod a day. skip all the filler their are hardly any filler ( maby 100 or less)considering 1000+ episod

Except for Dressrosa & latter third of Wano, the "too long" thing is only a problem in the anime - the manga has been consistently pretty great.

In fact, pre-timeskip One Piece had similar relatively boring/low stakes/drawn out parts as well - Syrup Village, Little Garden, Drum Island, the 'minion fights' in Arabasta & Skypiea, and pretty much all of Thriller Bark (except Brook's flashback & the ending).

It's just that we tend to be a lot more forgiving of those early parts because the anime was better paced, OR because we watched them when younger (and therefore have nostalgia for it, we were less jaded by watching a ton of other anime, but mostly because our attention spans were less ruined by smartphones & infinite scroll social media apps).

In any case, check out either the manga or the One PACE fanedits for any post-timeskip arc, to see what I mean.

If you "watched" the Water Seven, Enies Lobby, Sabaody Archipelago, & Marineford arcs through "explanation videos" - then congratulations! You've just ruined some of the best storytelling experiences you could possibly have had.

Art is subjective, and especially something like One Piece with its goofy (on the surface) artstyle & Oda's younger-skewing sense of humour may not be everyone's cup of tea - and THAT'S OK. But if you were interested enough to watch 500 eps worth of 'explanation videos', I can't understand why you didn't at least give the anime (or even the manga or the One PACE fan edit) a proper shot. I bet you just read Wikipedia synopses of movies & tv shows & consider that the same experience as having watched them, huh?

@anime-alchemy So you watched 500 episodes through "Explanation" videos💀

I want to know as to what compelled you to watch 500 episodes through Explanation rather than at least completing even 1 arc by just watching the anime

Did you use the same format for all other anime that you watched such as Naruto, Boruto, Bleach, Aot and if so doesn't that ruin your fun watching it and feel like a waste? Because it is similar to a situation where you get spoiled completely but you still watch the anime.

Also for the childish part? So you would skip everything just because you saw some out of context scenes? Does slavery and suffering seem like childish?

Also the one piece fandom is mature💀💀??
There is not a single fanbase of the Shounen genre that is entirely mature and I can say that without hesitating.

For the sub or dub you should definitely go for Sub as it's a better experience also use One pace as it will remove the pacing issues along with filler

I prefer dub because in sub luffy sounds like a female. now I dont understand japanese so it's hard for me to pick up on what others do. but I feel the same way about luffys sub va as I do the dragon ball sub va. its cringe. bad ass dudes squealing and shit. but I admittedly watched most of it in sub because crunchy roll didn't add the dub. yk because crunchy roll sucks ass when it comes to giving us dubs.

I have rewatched One Piece a few times now. There is always something you missed or forgot or that you saw and didn't pay attention to that showed up later. Everytime. I only rewatch to wait for more manga to come out because I read it so fast. That's the whole reason I started watching the anime.

My favorite characters are paired up...

Luffy and Brook
Nami and Luffy

I agree with this.

I agree, dub is definitely good and it's easy than reading 1000+ episod in sub. I mean sub dosen't let you focus on the expressions of all the characters you have to read at the same time you watch. if whant to have a good and easy time watching one piece then watch dub. at beginning when I was watching in dub I really hated sub for sounding so annoying and irritating. after I catch up to dub I couldn't stop myself from watching more. so I switched to sub I don't really understand Japanese at that time I didn't like that much. but as the time passed I got used to Japanese I was able to understand a lot of words that in the beginning irritated me and I no watch only Japanese without subs.

it just which every language you are comfortable with that will give you the best experience and enjoyment.
