Thanks! No I get it I think - he simply meant that there should be more people like Hitagi, right?:)

No, he meant exactly what he said. Senjougaharaism.

Said in other words that it's should be a trend that people get fascinated by Senjougahara, if I have interpret it correctly.

Sexual assault on child.

Wait, if only Araragi that can see that snail then why Hanekawa interact with the snail too? Or maybe she's just pretending like what Senjougahara do. Definitely gonna be a love triangle.

Lol she confess her love in english.

It will probably be shown later. A hint was given in this ep. I don't want to go further on this subject. I am not a fond of spoilers, even with spoiler tags. :P

At this point, the best episodes seem to be the last episodes of any given arc...

I agree with this, based on these first 5 episodes. I've been getting bored, but I found this episode to be quite good! The lost snail reveal and Hitagi's opening up both had my full attention, no doubt about it! :P

So is Mayoi going to be a regular character still? That would be fun!

It would be great if every episode could grab my attention this way. ✿ 5/5

That's what I love with this anime. As we know by now this is not an action shounen series where there is tension is every ep. Analogy to the arcs of this anime is a symphony it has a slow start. Slowly it gets better and eventually reach the climax where it really gets enjoyable. When one person has heard the whole symphony one can see a whole picture and see how each piece has contribute to the symphony. The same with these stories. It begins slowly. Get a build-up and at the end reach a climax where it shows it tension and gives us, the viewers, joy. That's a great trait I like with the monogatari-series. ;)

yayyyyyyy sexual assault jokes because that's always funny especially in an anime that made serious light on sexual assault just a few episodes ago for shock value!!!!! /s

So we finally get an explanation for what's been going on with this girl and in an absolute miracle for this show, it's a solid 10 minutes of actual interesting content. Maybe at this rate the next arc with end with 15 minutes of something besides idle chatter. A girl can hope.

I took some time to look up positive opinions of this show and try to understand the appeal. After all, so many people seem to enjoy it. The general defense against people who find the show boring seems to be rather smug: Oh, it's about character development and introspection, and slow is just the style!

You can have character development and introspection in an interesting way that moves the plot forward, not to mention said character development is only about half of the dialog while the other 50% is awkward flirting and lewd humor that feels like padding. A relaxed pace is one thing, but this anime seems to want to waste the time of anybody who needs more than constant shots of cute girls and artistic flair that quickly gets repetitive while trying to spice up an anime that has so far mostly taken place in a single empty location.

Which is especially odd, given the show is INTENTIONALLY LONGER than a single cour, which means the director felt this amount of time was necessary. Maybe later the series ties together and justifies every piece of dialog it's ever produced into some brilliant endgame narrative, but even if it does that won't automatically make this series a masterpiece in my eyes, because there are plenty of series that manage to spin a grande finale AND make the journey there enjoyable.

This show doesn't make sense. At one point there is all kinds of feelings and stuff, at another point, it just goes in the opposite direction.

Looks like the other episodes will have Araragi saving a girl, the girl crying, then girl will be saved. That relationship development was just not that great as I thought. It looks like there is absolutely no chemistry between those two. Am I hyped? No.

By the time the twist came and went, it wasn't that much impacting at all.Maybe it is better to put this on hold after all.

I just come here for your comments now

So far I like the resolution of the arcs, but having to spend 1 hour or so to enjoy 10 minutes is frustrating.
The MC is awful and he deserves the shit he gets from the ladies here.

loved this episode, the twist was great even tho i expected it but it was executed really well. love the sound direction!!

i freakin’ LOVE the MCs they are both very strong characters & even if i still find this too quirky i’ll keep watching for their sake, SO entertaining

Damn, didn't see that twist coming. On the plus side, Mayoi got promoted to a 'wandering spirit.'

Hitagi is a pretty cool character so far, and the dynamic between her and Koyomi is great. Hopefully there'll be more development between the two of them as the series goes on.

I think this episode finally sold me on the Monogatari series as a whole; I am now very excited to see the other story arcs and different seasons after this. That twist was well done in my opinion, and after seeing it, I can see that it was hinted at in some of the splice ins. I thought that after Mayoi went home, she would disappear, but I am kinda glad she just got promoted so she can stay in the story.

I was confused with the love confession at first, but I am glad that it was legit. I think subconsciously, I was rooting for those two to be together.

Kinda confused, how does they found hachikuji house in the end? They just keep walking in the circle in previous episode, yet now they can find hachikuji house easily without any equipment/charm/etc...

Or are they just point some vacant lot and said that it was hachikuji mom's house?

That was a really great episode, probably my favorite one so far. I was confused on how Mayoi was affected by the snail in the previous episodes, but now I understand, Mayoi was the snail herself and Araragi was the one who was affected by it. That was cool.

And now Araragi and Senjougahara are offical, fuckin nice. Mayoi is also not gone forever, that's good, she's now a wandering ghost.

That "Omedetou gozaimasu" was hilarious lol

Did not expect that Mayoi would be a ghost... damn. Quite tragic. And if I didn't misunderstand, it happened 10 years ago? Again, if I didn't misunderstand, Hanekawa could see her because like Araragi she's running away from something as well, right?

Loved the romance progression this episode. Hitagi's straightforwardness is awesome, and I like how she didn't want to leave without an answer. Araragi's answer too was interesting lol

But still, thrilled that they're together!

A lot of playful dialogues or banters they're having quite a fun while

But Senjougahara is back and she finally revealed the truth about Mayoi, Araragi was the one who's being followed by Mayoi herself not Mayoi her story was really sad to hear and experience imagine the pain to travel all the way but never reach the destination she's going to

So that concludes her story, But coincidentally they met yet again but she's a wandering spirit now which was relieving to see her cute annoying face again.

This is the episode that has me sold on the whole Monogatari lore.

After 2 eps of nice but very slow-paced buildup, we get this emotional rollercoaster thrown at us. Honestly surprised they were able to pack so much in just 25 minutes.

Also based we get to see Hachikuji again

A very dialogue-centric show. I think this is a good point for someone to determine if this show is for them. I think it's rather interesting.

It's not a regular anime, but rather an art project, really. The camera shots and compositions are all so CINEMATIC. Everything is so simple but so complex. I can't really put the vibe of this show into words, but it's certainly different.

Sometimes, the meaning of things and elude me. It definitely takes some brain work to grasp what the characters are trying to convey. The language barrier doesn't help either. But I think I have a rough understand of what's going on. Somehow, during Episode 4, I was able to tell that Hitagi couldn't see the girl. I don't know how, but the fact that she didn't really directly interact with her throughout the episode made me wonder if the girl was a ghost.

I think the highlight of this episode was the ending/confession scene. Two characters becoming a couple is something you witness a lot in an anime, but in this case, it was very unique. It lacks the regular bashfulness and was very frank. "I don't want a vague relationship" was a good line, and something that should be said when beginning IRL relationships.

The MC is also entertaining to watch. He kinda reminds me of Kazuma from KonoSuba.

Camera angles and Animation are very different & complex in this series from a regular anime it's like they are trying to create a mystery which is a very good approach in my opinion.
Nonetheless it was a good episode and better than previous one.

Well this ep brought so many things together. Which is pretty impressive considering it's mainly Araragi, Mayoi and Senjougahara talking on the playground. With a few flashbacks thrown in for clarification. Or further confusion. Take your pick!

I like the conclusion of bringing Mayoi back home. It's initially sad but fortunately resolves again at the very end and it looks like we'll continue to see her (yay!)

And of course Araragi + Senjougahara together is the final bow on the package. He appears to stand up for himself in the relationship for the first time by establishing a ground rule. It's so surprising when she drops the ILY bomb. Based on the original Hitagi we met that profession seemed extremely unlikely. When Koyomi fails to reply she put him in the classic Anime "what will you do" situation. I think his reply is prefect, and appears to have won her over. And I have to admit: I find myself smitten with Senjougahara wonder/fascination.

Senjougahara wonder. Senjougaharaianism. Which isn't quite as long as Antidisestablishmentarianism but it's close.

Antidisestablishmentarianism: Opposition to the withdrawal of state support or recognition from an established church

Senjougaharaianism: Recognition of a growing fascination with Senjougahara, and the condition of being powerless to stop it.

That plot twist got me, especially with the way it was revealed. And then the climax.

But what got me even harder was Senjougahara's confession. Turns out she was trying to play Love is War but gave up midway and confessed. Still, her not wanting a vague relationship is something I respect and a relationship where they talk things through is certainly going to be helpful in the long run. The subtitles were a bit confusing here though.

I really liked the way this episode played out.

Hachikuji's reveal was done in a very interesting way, and Senjyogahara's reasoning kind of shook things up for me.

Overall a very good episode with a satisfying ending; Also glad to see that we may see more of Hachikuji in the future.

So that incident happened about 10 years ago in this town. Would've been interesting to see Araragi and them as kids meeting Hachikuji. Thinking back on it after watching the series, considering Tsubasa also saw Mayoi makes sense. At least Senjougahara doesn't have any issues at home.

The love confession was the funniest thing I've seen in recent memory. I haven't cackled like that in a long time.

Hachikuji being the snail and invisible to Senjougahara was something I figured out basically the moment Hachikuji was introduced, but the other girl being able see her in the middle episode made me think I might've been wrong about the latter part. I guess I'll find out what the deal with Hanekawa and her family is in a later story.

This is really good! When I learned that Araragi was actually the only one to be able to see the spirit was because of the certain condition he met and when I found out who Hachikuji really was, I was saddened. And when they found her former house, I literally teared up.

Also, I guess Mayoi decided to stay as a spirit and the gods even promoted her from Earthbound spirit to Wandering Spirit, so good!

I don't know if I'll be able to continue this for much longer...

The nonsensical rambling about nothing for the entirety of each episode, the flippant & sassy dialogue is just relentless, and every character aside from Araragi talk in the same long-winded, riddle-style loops to just prolong conversations.

And when we finally get a slightly normal & direct confession, the MC's response is to repeatedly say "I see," and avoid confronting a single word of what that person is saying? Ok... exciting I guess? Also, I really hope the creepy child fetishizing stuff is over now. I never want to see the words "Touched a little girl's delicate breasts" pop up on screen ever again.
